A herniated disc, also commonly referred to as a slipped disc or disc prolapse, is a spinal condition that occurs when one of the discs between the vertebrae in the spine ruptures or bulges out of its normal position. This can result in pressure on nearby nerves, leading to pain, numbness, or weakness that can radiate down the arms or legs, depending on the location of the herniation.
The most common symptoms of slip disc/herniated disc (mohron ka dard ki alamat) are pain, tightness, numbness, weakness, or tingling in the neck, back, arms, or legs, inability to bend or rotate the neck or back, difficulty getting up from a chair, and inability to remain in 1 position for a long period of time.
In most cases, physical therapy can often produces better results in treating a herniated disc (mohron ka dard ka Ilaj) than surgery or pain medications. A physical therapist will work with the patient to design a specific treatment program that will speed up the recovery, including exercises and treatments that they can do at home.
