A bad weather day in Guernsey is better than a good weather day many other places 😂. A great day to take a walk and explore the rock pools.

I have always wanted to live in Guernsey. If I had the money to buy a house there, I’d be over like a shot! It’s beautiful in all weathers I reckon and it’s the lifestyle and people that make it such an awesome place too.

Loved living in Guernsey all those years ago. But to be honest we swapped it for another slice of paradise - New Zealand. You don't see rubbish or nasty stuff here. We have a river flowing through our town with riverside walks and parks, and a beach not too far away. On a clear day you can see mountains in two directions and our weather is perfect. Wait until you try out that umbrella in very strong winds Ross - they have been known to fail.

Like any neighbourhood, it is down to the people who live there, simple. Some folks have no respect for themselves so they will never have respect for their surroundings and others. Looks like a good number of the people of Guernsey have some pride in where they live, and themselves.

Always found Guernsey people to be extremely friendly way back when we lived there, just like people from Ireland…

I lived on the island for five years, nature, cleanliness, no crime, this is a plus compared to the UK.
But there are cons - very expensive life, not the highest salaries, and young people (18-45 years old) are better off living and developing in more dynamic places.
Guernsey is ideal for children, families, or old people

I think it was summed up to me by a resident of the island "Southampton is 45 minutes away- yes ,it is - but unlike the main land you have to plan when to arrive at the airport to depart, what happens if the weather rolls in and you're stuck - when to get back to the airport to fly back and how heavy what you bought is".
Not the same as travelling on the mainland from city to city.
My friend who moved to the IOM said the first winter was the hardest- so dark ! Excellent video as always Ross!

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do. It's sunny today. Yesterday was grim but cheered up by 6 pm.

If I could afford to I would live in Guernsey in a heart beat, I spent a lot of my childhood there, I have always considered it my spiritual home, wonderful place to be. I was last there in 2018, but Canada is my home now.

Thank you for the take along walks you do and the drive alongs on that beautiful island you live on. I definitely prefer where you live rather than large cities. Have a really splendid week. Cheers from British Columbia.

Loved the walk Ross. Brings back lovely memories for me. I used to live up La Passeé for a few years, and walked with my kids , (after tea), down to the coast.
Now in Italy, very far from the sea......😢 ( But I have the Alps as the view from my window !)

Good evening Ross, We returned to the mainland on Saturday after a lovely week staying at The Bay Apartments at Pembroke Bay. We have been holidaying in Guernsey for over 50 years and we continue to love it. Thank you for your videos, they keep us going through the dark winter months. We would love you to film a video at Fort Le Marchand and/or on the Loop Hole Towers. Their history is fascinating. Sue

To me the worst part is you can't go for a proper drive in a car , imagine you have a nice car and there is nowhere you can have fun with it.

Ah, for some reason I thought you lived nearer to Cobo. @6:14 on the horizon, dead centre of the frame is (or was) the Grandes Rocques hotel, which is a private residence now and was were I used to come with my school, pretty much 50 years ago now.

Mind you it was in the middle of the afternoon and the bloke was sound. Cheers for the videos Ross, I always say that you're doing more to promote the island than anyone else.

Hi! Thank you so much for subscribing, and welcome to the channel! To give you a bit of background, I’m self-employed and run a fitness business here in Guernsey. I work with care home residents, leading seated exercise sessions to help the community stay active. I also offer one-to-one training and group sessions. Being my own boss gives me the flexibility to film these videos, which works out perfectly. I’m really glad you’re enjoying the channel and I look forward to hearing more from you in the comments. Thanks again for your support!

Yes I would, we prefer quiet rural life over city life, it's not so good here on the main land and to escape it is but a dream, I'm sure you don't suffer the rubber boats landing on your beaches and what that brings with it, does our political nutters cause problems there ? I assume self governing and maybe has it's own problems ? I'm sure you have seen many video's of what is going on here, always a joy to watch your video's as it brings a moment of escape from my reality.

Hi, thanks so much for commenting! I always enjoy reading everyone’s thoughts. You’re right - being here in Guernsey means we don’t face all the same issues as the mainland, though we do have our own challenges. I do feel fortunate to be a bit removed from some of the mainland’s problems, and I’m really happy to hear that my channel offers a bit of escapism. I look forward to reading more of your comments!
