yes but in the early 90's there were a lot of bands of this style doing a lot of huge success playing the dispute was very strong in the media as big names like Aerosmith, Rush, Rolling Stones, INXS, Midnight Oil, ZZ Top, Bon Jovi, etc. ...
@quirri Ikr ☺️💚 I remember it was on the flip side of To Be With You at release & didn’t get the same attention, at least in US. Maybe it was labeled slightly more alternative than pop? I worked in ‘top 40’ radio & played it all the time, even though the boss said only play the hit side 😂 It’s awesome to see the life it took on around the world. I guess it’s kinda like a cult classic in the US now? What a great song 🥰
And it serves the song and isn’t just a load of redundant arpeggios-Paul Gilbert has always been open about continuously improving his phrasing After all, he already had the chops when he was barely out of his teens!
I still remember where I was when I read the news. Literally brought tears to my eyes. Not just an all-time champion drummer, but also just a REALLY nice guy and very smart. I was crushed.
Its 2023 and still listening to this brought back those good old memories. Can't wait to see them live in Singapore soon. Sadly its their last tour...no matter their songs will always be a part of me...❤
Man I am addicted to this song. Paul's intro blew me away, but I was initially a little turned off by the sugary sweet pop chorus. But it's very catchy and I warmed up to it like a day later. Such a beautiful song, I love it.
One of the greatest songs ever written and performed. The whole thing is awesome but from the “hanging out with Janice” line the song goes into the stratosphere. Amazingly stunning, and takes me back to when it came out.
A true masterpiece of rock and roll. Eric Martin's vocals are absolutely amazing on this track. Bass, drum, and guitar are perfect. I never get tired of hearing this song or this album.
Oh my God!!! Those vocal harmonies at 1:05 to 1:09 are like heaven, reach the depths of my soul. What a good and great song it is. Those 4 of you are geniuses. Thank you Pat for making us happy with your music and your talent. Rest in peace Pat.
This song and album brings me back to when I was 20 years old and having a very hard time in my life. Mr. Big was a large part of happy moments during those difficult days. I would literally drive around for hours listening to this entire album. I regret never having seen them live. What a great and underrated band.
I remember buying the "To Be With You" as a single cassette at Camelot Music (back when there was still music stores 🤣). "Green-Tinted" was on the B side. I listened to this great song until the cassette wore out.
Can't remember how many times I saw them opening up for Rush...seems like every tour from the end of the 80's thru the very early 90's. Rush LOVED this band and I don't blame them!!! Mr. Big NAILED EVERY SONG LIVE if not better than the studio. Definition of a SUPER GROUP full of SUPERIOR MUSICIANS!!!
My first husband bought this CD just for this song lol. And they were expensive back then!! And we were listening to To Be With You for probably a year b4 it became popular. Love these guys still!
I was in high school when I first heard about them then I bought their album in the late 90's and still rockin.' Great intelligent quality rock music and great band plus all really great lookin' even if they aged. RIP to Pat.
LOVE Paul Gilbert's intro. It's one of the few guitar parts that I really love to play, next to "Sweet Child O' Mine". This is MUCH more fun to play than "Sweet Child O' Mine". This is BY FAR my favorite Mr. Big song. Such a sad song as well. Gotta love Paul Gilbert's writing.
My favourite song !!!! She just woke up, but she's still tired Is that the telephone ringing? The curtains can't hold back the light That's reaching into her dreams Down in her heart If it had fingers, it'd be tearing it apart You be lookin' groovy In a sixties movie Maybe tell the press you died Little legend baby Try your very best to hide A green-tinted sixties mind She keeps some memories locked away But they are always escaping neclgect won't make them fade away They're reaching into her dreams Down in her heart Don't need fingers to be tearing it apart Gotta face the day There is no other way To clear the fog inside your mind Fill it up with dreams But all that you can seem to find A green-tinted sixties mind Hangin' out with Janis Movin' to Atlantis Could've made it if you tried What's the point of force It's easy as a horse to ride A green-tinted sixties mind You be looking groovy In a sixties movie Maybe tell the press you died Little legend baby Try your very best to hide A green-tinted sixties mind -U can't hide-
I only have good things to say about these guys. I met them all when i was 17 back in 1991 after their show. Paul was my idol and Eric bought me a drink! They were all really nice people.
Just hearing that 🎸riff at the beginning takes me back to a summer day in my freshman year of college...driving my first car, wind in my hair, all young & enjoying life. Man, I wore that cassette OUT 🥰
When this album came out I didn't think much of it then I heard Green Tinted 60's mind and I knew right there this was one of the greatest songs ever done by one of the greatest bands ever ! Long live guitar Shredding !!
I love this song and I miss Mr Big.It was sad when Pat Torpey died prematurely. They have left a great legacy of wonderful songs and the memories that evoke them.
Worked at a club they played at kin the 90s, after there concert as a promotion for a radio station, I walked them out to their bus after, past crowd about 300 mostly girls screaming for them, got on the bus, they wanted nothing to do with them. They where just ready to go like it is a painstaking job. I was super dissapointed in them Rock Stars... But Awesome music!
This song makes me feel super emotional. For me; their very best. I was EXTREMELY lucky to see them live in their last tour with Pat. ❤️ love you guys!!
Mr big was like the band extreme so good but never really got big . Hate the term under rated but they both were . Have been a fan of Paul's playing back when he was in racer x
Yeah. That's why press called them "The '90s Supergroup". Because of d bluesy voice of Eric Martin, guitar-bass duo of Paul & Billy, & d backing vox of drummer Pat. \m/

I will never understand why this wasn't No1. It's one of those songs that, once heard, you will be humming for the rest of your life.
I mean, Mr. Big has plenty of songs like that though.
yes but in the early 90's there were a lot of bands of this style doing a lot of huge success playing the dispute was very strong in the media as big names like Aerosmith, Rush, Rolling Stones, INXS, Midnight Oil, ZZ Top, Bon Jovi, etc. ...
@@renatoigmed You don't say. What I was trying to say is that this song is timeless.
@@quirri the "I will never understand why this wasn't No1" sentence it has no other meaning. I answered based on that.

この曲の真価はライブにある。ギターソロの後のアカペラでのコーラスの美しさは何回聴いても極上。もっと評価されるべきバンドだとずっと思ってる。
Can’t get enough of this song. The guitar intro, the chorus, the entire song is so captivating.

Wasn't number one??? Criminal !!! That's the music business though i guess.
Unique music, unique talent. Very underrated band with an extraordinary singer.
It's 2022 now and I'm still listening to this Masterpiece.. Mr Big always in my heart ♥️
It’s 2023

The intro tapping, One of my favorite guitar riffs of all time.
And it serves the song and isn’t just a load of redundant arpeggios-Paul Gilbert has always been open about continuously improving his phrasing

Actually true of most of their catalog. Didn’t appreciate this when it was new despite knowing what a musical super group they were at the time.
One of the greatest songs ever written and performed. The whole thing is awesome but from the “hanging out with Janice” line the song goes into the stratosphere. Amazingly stunning, and takes me back to when it came out.
Definitely my favourite line!! I wonder if they might have called it “Hanging out with Janis” 👌🏽
I listen to this and the entire album every morning going to work. And it's 2023. I love Mr. Big, especially Billy Sheehan. Living legend!!!
最後のツアー、行きます。
活動終了は寂しいけど、ずっとずっと聴き続けます。

Masterpiece.
I sang this song along at their concerts so many times and now I found out that I still can sing it fully.

Mr. Big's music is really positive!
Among the miserable trend of that “grunge” shit
Agreed
Because of major chord maybe

2 DAYS TO GO TIL I SEE MR BIG FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER , i,ve been a rocker since 84 .how did that even not happen ?!!
What a great song, gave me goosebumps when I was 12 and still does two decades later!
Know exactly how you feel. It hit me the same way back then; I think I was 11 myself!
Completely overlooked song, used to play this when we'd go out at night when I was younger. Great times.

Paul is incredible, monster chops but never overplays the song. Incredible player.
interesting you picked on that as well. It's one of those sweetly melancholy songs that's beautiful and sad at the same time
My favourite song !!!!
She just woke up, but she's still tired
Is that the telephone ringing?
The curtains can't hold back the light
That's reaching into her dreams
Down in her heart
If it had fingers, it'd be tearing it apart
You be lookin' groovy
In a sixties movie
Maybe tell the press you died
Little legend baby
Try your very best to hide
A green-tinted sixties mind
She keeps some memories locked away
But they are always escaping
neclgect won't make them fade away
They're reaching into her dreams
Down in her heart
Don't need fingers to be tearing it apart
Gotta face the day
There is no other way
To clear the fog inside your mind
Fill it up with dreams
But all that you can seem to find
A green-tinted sixties mind
Hangin' out with Janis
Movin' to Atlantis
Could've made it if you tried
What's the point of force
It's easy as a horse to ride
A green-tinted sixties mind
You be looking groovy
In a sixties movie
Maybe tell the press you died
Little legend baby
Try your very best to hide
A green-tinted sixties mind
-U can't hide-
