- “DREAMS DIDN’T MAKE US KINGS - DRAGONS DID.”
If the Targaryens are known for one thing more than their sleek blonde hair, it’s their dragons. And in House of the Dragons, two names stand out the most. First being the monstrously powerful Caraxes, also known as the Blood Wyrm and the other the ancient and epic Vhagar!
But which one among them takes the bragging rights for being the most powerful or the greatest one among the two? Well, that’s exactly what we’re here to find out. So, welcome back to Factholic folks and today we’ve got a proper Dragon head-to-head among our midst! It’s Vhagar vs. Caraxes!
So, Vhagar Vs. Caraxes, who is bigger and stronger between the two of them?
Well, there’s simply no second thoughts over the fact that Vhagar was a larger dragon than Caraxes. After all, Vhagar is the second largest dragon that Targaryens ever bred, after Balerion
I'm probably anthropomorphising, but does anyone think Caraxes felt betrayed by Vhagar? First they were ridden by two brothers, Aemon and Baelon, who were very close. (Meleys' rider was their sister Alyssa) Then they were ridden by spouses, Daemon and Laena. They spent years in close proximity. I wonder how Caraxes and Meleys felt when Vhagar chose to fight against them.
Absolutely nothing... Caraxes is a bad azz who gets the job done !
LoL dragons are not humans
They didn't feel anything what you said is absolutely wrong
Dragons are smart and capable of emotions. The author said so himself.
I dont really think so... as I undewrstand when dragons gets a new rider this dragon becomes basically her new rider... I dont think Vhagar gives a s*it who she kills :D
Pound for Pound Caraxes is the Goat. Lol
Do you think carexas can survive fighting balerion
The answer is Vermithor
They both die in battle so its a stalemate
Caraxes goes the first bite to vaghor and vaghor teared his wings and they both died /- written in book
Vhagar also clawed at caraxes chest, exposing all of this organs and ripping open his chest
@@mrmathh3680 but vaghor dies first ... Caraxes crawl in the land and dies a few hours later .but daemon is not foundd
We already know. Although both Dragons dies in their fight, Caraxes ripped out Vhagars throat. Caraxes did her in
No the fall killed vhagar, infact just read the book? Vhagar bit off carxes arm and wing in one bite the ripped open his stomach, but before carxes began to fall he latched onto vhagar bringing her down with him while daemon jump over and killed aemon. Because vhagar was so big the fall killed her while caraxes being smaller crawled out then died from his wounds infact we can say that caraxes might have landed on vhagar and that's how it survives the fall. But apart from suicide vhagar win 9/10 times
Vhagar rip soon 😂😂
X_XPro7890
Caraxes pulls himself out the lake then dies , caraxes did win his even if he died after
You clearly didn't read the book. Caraxes didn't win the fight - no one did in the end, but Vhagar won the duel in the air. Caraxes then locked on her neck while falling into the abyss and because of doing so he pulled Vhagar with him. Vhagar then smashed onto the ground, dying obviously instantly because of that (Aemond died with her) and Caraxes fell into the lake, of which he could escape but due to the bloodloss after losing an arm + wing and because of the opened stomach + side, he died soon. Vhagar would win 9 of 10 fights against Caraxes and there were only 2 dragons that could bring real problems to her (excluding the unridden dragons like Cannibal etc.): Vermithor and Meraxes. Vermithor was a bit smaller and less powerful, but younger and was mentioned as an absolute fearless dragon. Meraxes (ridden by Rhaenys) had (or has when you're watching the show) a even larger span than Vhagar, but she was also mentioned as bit less powerful. And then there was one dragon that would wipe the floor with Vhagar and that was Balerion - larger span than Meraxes, bigger and more powerful than Vhagar and smarter than Caraxes. Balerion had no match when it comes to the whole lore, but "nobody" knows if there wasn't a unridden dragon that was even superior to Balerion...
But you guys are just copying stuff from the Wikia. Just read the books and you get more details.
@@sonatine3266 your nonsense so manny bullshit , the last one to die wins dude just as simple as that 🤣🤣 just as simple as that no need many damn bullshit explaination caraxes wins
@@geolinotag9502 Did you read the book? Please tell me no, otherwise you are def. missing some brain cells.
@@sonatine3266 Caraxes lasted longer which means ? He won. Cope harder.
@@sonatine3266 wtf are you talking? Vhagar smashed into the ground? Both dragons fell into the lake. Aemond was stabbed by Daemon in the eye. Vaghar was killed by Caraxes. Caraxes survived the fall and then pulled herself out of the lake. She died near the Harrenhal. First you read the books.
Imagine if Caraxes was older and bigger… that be crazy…
Caraxes was born in the dragon pit and everyone knows that once Targaryens started using dragon pit their dragons didnt grow as big anymore
Y’all really forgot one big factor vhagar is really really old compared to the blood worm so she is past her prime
she's also fucking massive. if a grandpa were to get into a fight with a preteen, then the grandpa would win.
And u forgot also that vhagar is really really big, if both are on their prime and same size i would still put my money on caraxes, even meleys can ripped vhagar if sunfyre wasn't a distraction.
dragons gain power and size according with their age
@@hakirasonifuji1754 actually Meleys could have killed Aegon and Sunfyre, but Vhagar and Aemond interrupted
@@hakirasonifuji1754 True people forget that Caraxes was half of Vhagar's size but he's only 70-80 years old while Vhagar was 170 years old...IMAGINE CARAXES IN HIS PRIME💀💀💀
This fight actually does happen and it's a stalemate but only because Caraxes slammed into Vhagar.
Caraxes and Daemon fought smartly against a larger Vhagar and an overconfident Aemond.
I believe Daemon wanted to die. He commanded Caraxes to lock onto the top of Vhagars neck yet didn’t get Caraxes to just eat Aemond in his saddle. Instead he planned to kill Aemond himself before both of them died.
@@joshuaadams6565 it wasn't confirmed if Daemon died because his body was never found.
Nah caraxes killed him
what are you talking about only one who lives is ceraxes then dies when he pulled himself out the water
Caraxes have more flexibility and it is very savage than rhaghar
Caraxes is no where near Vhagar in being savages Vhagar has killed other dragons before and if not for the book we all know Vhagar will destroy Caraxes
even tho Vhagar is huge i think shes not at peak of her powers, we can see how long she takes off the ground, her movements even seem slow compared to other dragons, Caraxes strenght is his temper and I imagine Daemon was much more experienced rider then Aemond. I also think that Caraxes serpantine like neck gives him more agility to bite or fire from angles while its also a vulnerability cause Vhagar simply can chop off his head with one bite, regardless i imagine Caraxes will win with some sort of smarts from Daemon not because of him being superior.
caraxes has more battle experiences because he has been in many war with Daemond, he has more skills than Vhagar
@@wn857 that's not totally right, according to the book vhagar is the veteran of 100 battles, since she was one of aegons three dragons when he conquered westeros vhagar would have seen lot of battles. Caraxes fought only at stepstones war
Tf do you mean not at peak power‽‽‽ She's beyond peak and is in decline she's well over 100 years old closer to 200 she is close in age with Balerion but not as old and he died from old age the only dragon on record out side of old valryia to have died from old age
@@Dravion97 Thats what i said
@@ratikonjaria7648 I just realized I misread that welp I'm an idiot my bad lol 😂💯🤞
Caraxes is going to tear open Vhagar's throat, killing her, but the latter will tear off one of Caraxes' wings before dying. After they fall into the God's eye, the Bloodwyrm will pull himself out to the shore, before ultimately succumbing to his wounds.
That's the sad part of it. Pussy Aemond got owned by uncle Daemon :$
The irony is that Vhagar was Daemon’s dead wife’s dragon. Very unfortunate.
Hate to see vhagar on the greens side really it would have been so good to see vhagar with the blacks with a better rider than aemond
Aemond as much people like him is a shit rider he couldn't control vhagar when killing luke, he wouldve easily got his ass kicked by meleys who is a very small dragon compared to vhagar if it wasnt for aegon and sunfyres distraction, and lost to caraxes as well
So apart from bragging about having the biggest dragon in HOTD aemond really doesnt do shit and only gets vhagar killed
Caraxes as good a dragon he is fought well cuz of daemon who was experienced and a far better rider
Hate to spill the beans but Caraxes beat vhagar. Caraxes and daemon fought smartly against a larger Vhagar and Aemond was overconfident about Vhagar's size. Caraxes ripped Vhagar's throat killing him but Vhagar disemboweled Caraxes in return and tore gis wings. Vhagar died first, Caraxes crawled to the castle gates in God's eye before he succumbed to his injuries.
If both died nither won right? Does it matter if you lived 5 mins more if you are not there to fight another day
@@hosniadnan2623 it does matter, you outlived and defeated the enemy that is the point of calling it a victory.
@@hosniadnan2623 It's still a win cor Caraxes. If they both died instantly then I'd call it a draw. But Caraxes had like 30 minute grace time to crawl from Gods Eye to Harrenhall before dying is more of a victory than a draw.
I'm with caraxes I love caraxes because his rare and strong even if he died but still he won. I'm so happy for caraxes victory between vhagar but rest in peace caraxes.
They both died. One is throat open another one stomach open...
I agree if Vhagar was ridden by Visenya I think she would of won. Stronger, bigger, more battle experience. Caraxes is bad ass but Vhagar a monster. Her age probably didn’t help ether.
If you have a dragon the size of meleys or caraxes or a bigger one and you play your cards right you can kill her
Carexes didn't kill vhagar you clearly didn't read the book carexes raped it's neck around vhagar in vhagar tore off carexes left wing vhagar died from the fall of impact when they hit water carexes died from the bloodloss of it's left wing getting torn off by vhagar so get your facts straight the only dragon that can kill vhagar is vermithor
Vhagar and Caraxes are my favorite fictional dragons. It's sad their riders forced them to fight. SPOILERS:
Vhagar disembowels Caraxes and rips off one of his wings. He rips her throat out. Unfortunately they both die.
Spoilers they fight and both kill each other 🤷🏾♂️
Hahaha soo surprised to know 🥱
But caraxes kill first and dead due to injury so caraxes won the Battle
I have one doubt if the fight between Vhagar and Caraxes, why daemon went to vermathor dragon ???
Becoz he is alive & he will be his nxt dragon
He went to Vermithor for someone who is loyal to Daemon to use.
Your info is wrong since the targaryen dragons were not the biggest that ever live, there were bigger dragons in Valeria before the doom. Maybe in westeros but not in the history. A simple search would answer that.
Everyone knows Caraxes will win because writer has already written this in his book that is why most of the people are talking in Caraxes favor but if we talk about facts, ability, experience, size and power there is no doubt Vhagar will win that battle.
Nah, Vhagar is too sluggish for her age.
@@blacklotus7143 naah.. From where you got this info? 😄
@@0DarkPrince0 Fire and Blood tells us dragons become 'sluggish and more cumbersome as they age' Balerion when he is about 200ish years old and only slightly larger than Vaghar is when she dies, since she is said to have grown nearly as large, can barley fly around kings landing twice. Viserys considered trying to fly him to Dragonstone but decided Balerion 'wouldnt make the flight' Vaghar is starting to reach the same point. She is getting old slow and if she lived much longer would end up like Balerion. Too big to support her weight in the air for very long.
If its faced up Vhagar would win due to the size. Caraxes would win in a strategic way of fighting.
0:50 look at the size difference in balerion and drogon 🥶🥶🥶
This isn't correct for sure, u can see in the last season of GOT that Drogon is not that small and he is bigger than Arrax in HOD
@@duncanlush2613 yea but drogon is nowhere near the size of dreamfyre or caraxes or silverwing or meleys so yea drogon is far from being as big as dragons as old as balerion, the cannibal, vhagar, vermithor, sheepstealer or silverwing ... you cant compare drogon to dragons that are at least 100 years old
@@dajointcf4803 Yep that's the point he is still just a baby 🤱
@@dajointcf4803 because he is not old enough
SPOILER:
Both of them will die in the end of HOTD.
There is a fight between Aemond and Daemon (Vhagar & Caraxes) and after that they are dying 😭💔
Caraxes wins there’s no who do you think would win here🤦♂️
Vhagar is old and Caraxes is a young dragon compared to vhagar .... Biggest reason vhagar lost this battle is because it's old and not much as powerful as its use to be.....
First off vhagar’s size was at its peak when she died so that statement is wrong if she had been younger caraxes would have slaughtered her with the size being more even and keep in my caraxes was young and not even close to fully grown
@@seansmith9941 so are u trying to tell me that Age = Power
Will a very old man Fight a young man and win???? Think about
Vhagar very old age is a BIG disadvantage.. that made her weak but still she did her best
The massive weight as well was a disadvantage... When u throw an elephant and a dog from the top of a skyscraper... which if them is more prone to die after impact to the ground??? The elephant
That's what happened during Vhagar VS Caraxes battle
Both severely injured the other and they fell from the sky... Vhagar being very old and massive died after impact to the surface... Caraxes being young and lighter died some minutes (or hours) later after impact to the ground
So it's a draw.. Both killed each other..
It makes me laugh when I see people say that Vhagar was at her peak strength and Caraxes was not
Take a human for example.. when someone is in his/her peak strength is when he/she is 20-40 years old NOT 80 years.. from 60 years upwards, you become very weak SO your peak was when u were younger
SAME LOGIC should be applied to Vhagar vs Caraxes
It is slow too
@@goodmimosa8040 this is not real life, the lore says a dragon become stronger the older it is there is nothing spoken or written that says a dragon become old and withers away. the only mention of this is Balerion that die of old age.
@@michael-gb3rn it was mentioned many times that Balerion was TOO WEAK to fly at his old age.. Viserys only rode once with Balerion
Will you call this "being stronger???"..
The same rule as I explained apply
Both Caraxes and Daemon has a war experience and Better known of Each others Capability But Aemond is a bully with a Bully Dragon Nothing More...
fuck i really need to stop spoiling my self
Ceraxes Kills Vhagar he pulls it's throat out!

Caraxes must be very good in the sky.. because he have 4 wings and serpentine body
wasn’t Meraxes bigger than Vhagar ?
I heard it was a tie!! And someone lost another eye!!
caraxes won.
why are u asking? the story is already told.
he killed vhagar with a bite in the neck. sure caraxes also died, but he was the last dragon standing.

in my opinion caraxes survived becose vhagar take input on when they hit lake so thats how caraxes manage to crawl out of lake.
Best part of the season 2 finale was seeing Caraxes and his dope sounding roar
Well we already know the answer...

Pointless video...This is one dragon duel we actually did get and we know what happens...So we have the answer
Neot everyone knows what happens in books
Caraxes won period
Remembering the book. Both of these dragons successfully killed each other
Ok first caraxes has teh strongest fire power in dragon history, like u said vhagar's fire boil men alive and caraxes fire evaporates men into thin air and caraxes is far more agile and caraxes body is mutated purley for battle and caraxes jaw strengh was strong enoughto bite clean into vhagar thick and girthy neck personally prime caraxes>prime vhagar and daemond's bond with caraxes is unmatched caraxes is legit daemon as a dragon they even seem to have a telaphathic connection
Drogon at Caraxes age would stomp both of them in Got he was already melting castles with his breath
@@Rinma99 yea drogobs growth rate is on balaeruons level if not higher but fire power would still go to caraxes and if they were same size not age caraxes would win but drogons growth rate is wayy too fast for caraxes at 7 years old drogon was sane soze as 50 year old caraxes

The reason that Carxes got slight edge against Vaghar is only bcoz Writer GRRM wants happen in that way😂
Come on We saw Vaghar & carxes in season 1, how the the hell we can believe that Carxes fought & actually won against Vaghar, vaghar is One of dragons which made seven kingdoms bend the knee Which Participated nearly in 100's of battles can be defeated that ugly looking carxes ? Carxes doesn't even giving a dragon vibes tbh it's too much lean to be dragon, it's not majestic atleast, If carxes got designed like meleys then it would be believable that it actually took down mighty Vaghar.
Outside the book Vhagar will destroy Caraxes
Lol.. you didn't do any VS battle comparison.. you said your answer according to the book
Vhagar wins
For those saying that Caraxes win.. u wrong
Vhagar died immediately because of some reasons... very old age, massive weight + impact from the fall
Caraxes died as well.. whether 5 minutes later or not.. Caraxes still died because of Vhagar despite Caraxes being younger, lighter and swifter
So Vhagar wins
Caraxes can't kill vhagar.
Have you seen a 20ft crocodile killed by 10ft crocodile by biting the neck.
2x size means 8x weight
Its like 200kg lion losses to 25kg baby cheetah coz cheetah is faster😂
That's how nature works.
Vhagar was 130 years younger, and smaller, during the conquest. Making the winner caraxes by a landslide in my opinion, even if visenya is riding her. Caraxes had the ferocity to fight vhagar as an elder dragon. Regular/ young vhagar doesn't stand a chance imo, but she would be faster having not been so big though. Thing is, who would have dark sister between daemon and visenya? Both deserve it tbh and without it, daemons suicide jump eye stab might not execute the same so that detail might have to change as well, idk.
Vhagar managed to disembowel Caraxes and tear off one of his wings, despite being past her prime. Prime Vhagar would have defeated Caraxes.
Vhagar is big and strong but old and slow, Caraxes is smaller but fast and agile
Who would win? Read the book(s). Vhagar mauls Caraxes and Caraxes bites into Vhagars neck, pulling her with him into the abyss and then Vhagar dies while smashing on the ground and Caraxes dies a bit later on his wounds (arm bit off and stomach teared open). In an pure 1v1 fight Vhagar wins 9 of 10 fights because of her sheer strength. The only dragons that could compete with Vhagar in an direct fight in terms of power and size were Vermithor (a bit smaller but younger), Meraxes and Balerion, who was even bigger and more powerful than Vhagar.
1 on 1 no rider same size and both in their prime id put all my gold on caraxes any day
Cannibal kills all
This debate is pointless. I’ve read the books as well. It was a pure 1 v 1 fight and they both died. Simple. As GRRM said in the book, Vhagar is huge but Caraxes faster and far more aggressive.
Caraxes is stronger even if visensya is the rider, and vhagar's past war is not against any targaryen or dragon rider
Vghar is like a siberian tiger female vs biggest male jaguar (carraxes).
Carraxes wins but dies 60% of the time.
It’s technically a draw if they both died
