Just about to listen to it and wondering about the age of the female in the story/illustration? Looks more like a woman to me, not a girl....... I suppose it was written some time ago when young women were more readily referred to as girls. Times have changed (somewhat....)

In Australia 94% of adult women who are killed are killed by men.
