Hahah yeah because he’s just some guy. I think a real person would be like we’ll show me a real graph of resale value. You drawing a graph with your own biases and no real numbers is meaningless. I get what he’s trying to say but to say “Chevy never discounts their vehicles” is total horseshit.

The video itself is a sales tactic. He created a contrast between himself with a prepared outcome and a guy from the audience being put on the spot. Its entertainment and adds percieved value beyond the trick of mentioning depreciation itself even.
Now doesn’t that make him the ultimate sales dude
Best part is when he says am I right or am I right !!! ! 😅
Agree. I don’t let the aggressive salesman say that much. Stop talking and here’s what I want to pay bud, either you can do it or you can’t. If you can’t, I’m not going to sit here and waste either one of our time.

Have you used it? Did it work? I feel like smart buyers will come with all the research already done. Smart buyers also don't buy when they need... they buy on their own time. Every time I've bought a car.. I didn't NEED it. I just wanted it. Walked out of 5 dealerships lol. I have the time... I have a car that's fine for the next 5 years. As a consumer, these videos help me with dealing when I’m going into a dealership to buy. It teaches me their techniques!
Smart thinking
Doesnt matter if you they are a good sales man. And trying to get a few grand off isnt that big of a deal. Try and get 10k or more off. Then its worth it but a few grand on 50k is pennies
@@inmate0054a few grand are pennies? Make 10 of those deals saving 10% and you can buy 1 car for free.
10% of whatever you have, sell or buy is a lot
Step 1: never find yourself at a dealership.
@@inmate0054says the salesman
I love this because it's aggressive towards concerns, not just price wars. Concerns will ALWAYS win over price if the numbers are close. Don't answer the question, solve the concern 👌🏾👌🏾
My God that was clean. I'll take the chevy.
LETS GOOOOO! 💪💪💪
😂😂😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ll take it when he trades it back in
I would rather have a Toyota. Way more reliable.
More rebates
Another tactic is to really know about the product you sell. Know the difference between the product you sell and the product your competitor sells. Know the strengths and weaknesses. Be honest and be knowledgeable. The worst salesman are the ones that come across as untruthful and incompetent.
Very true, I've gone with another dealer before because when I was test driving and asking questions about a car I was interested in I actually knew more about the vehicle than the salesmen and caught him lying several times which put me right off and I was actually ready to buy before that.
You can bend and stretch the truth. That's not lying technically. It's not just not considered being honest but you're not a liar
This is exactly why people cringe when it comes to buying vehicles, and why good sales people (low pressure, diligent, knowledgeable about the brand) do well. I’ve been in high stakes technical business development for Fortune 50 companies, and so when I show up to a car dealership and this is the approach, I immediately walk out.
Would you care to elaborate?
you might walk out, but 10 will stay
I’m a car salesman and I see stuff like this but are you telling me you’d rather have the 1st guys approach vs Andy’s? I mean like let’s make some sense here man Andy didn’t tell you a lie he told you facts and gave you a reason to buy his car which is his job.
Also he didn’t pressure you at all, I think you get so overwhelmed behind the way he talks or describes things that you think he’s lying to you, he’s just problem solving at the end of the day
@@556Keem I would walk out on both of them. Traditional sales tactics may work on a less sophisticated buyer, but for premium vehicle sales (let’s just say that means $60k and up) the client mostly just wants information when they ask for it, honesty, transparency, and no haggling. Sophisticated buyers know how to do research, they know what they want to pay, they know what they need for their trade, and they know how to get deals done. It’s not about the monthly payment, it’s about smart money and the economics of the deal.
it’s not even about agreeableness. it’s transparency, and knowledge. timeline. start to finish. usage, maintenance, enjoyment. Perceived Value.
just got a new job in sales, literally no experience, but im invested and looking forward to it. this video has been one of the best at helping me get a grasp on real life sales situations
BRILLIANT. Easy to dismiss a guy for his cocky attitude. Truth is 99.9% of those critiquing have yet to be this successful at anything.
This is not even close to brilliant; I'm sorry... If I was the "buyer" or if you had anyone with half an understanding of finance or how money works, this is very BAD advice. Take for example, the time value of money (TVM). The extra $3,000 (MONEY) now over a 5-year period (TIME) holds much more in return (VALUE). I could invest that $3,000 and make much more at a nominal return rate. Plus, you don't have that money locked up in a "trade-in" value. Educate yourself people, PLEASE!
@@Heisenberg-qo7gu This is about being quick on your feet to close a deal under pressure, not a class on finance. You're reading too far into it.
@@AutobahnVault True, and the coach is teaching the salesperson a skill. I can respect that. I was pointing out that it wouldn't have worked on me, and I'm educating the average "consumer or buyer" on how to be wise with your money and not fall for cheap salesman tactics.
Yeah this would not have worked on me. You would have to give me imperical evidence that this would have been a better deal. Plus, anyone that says “yes or yes” makes me cringe
Honestly it depends on the person. If the dude was no bs direct I straight up would have asked him if I offered you the Chevy at the same price what would you choose? And would have been straight up with the dude take it or leave it
For disposable sales this might be ok. Try selling in an industry based on repeat business. Cornering a client with unobjectionable logic, improvised lies about your product's value, and airtight responses to every question leaves the client feeling like they don't have a choice. When it comes time for another purchase, they'll avoid you like the plague (if they're smart).
Especially being word of mouth is the best business, you can advertise all u want im still not buying a 100$ ridge wallet
This, what an annoying personality.
@@iwellbreastfed exactly. If you're not in the market for something and someone forces a sale on you it's a huge wasted opportunity. These sales techniques focus too much on talking and not enough on listening.
They won’t purchase period. These sales guys need to understand what’s most important to the consumer, what their goals are, why did they walk into Chevy in the first place? Previous owner? Loyalty to the brand? If they are simply making a decision based on cost then it’s a pissing contest to the bottom. Most people don’t make big purchases simply based on cost alone, identify what factors are important to them when making a decision and it becomes a fluid sale
This salesman wasn’t delivering value here. Not saying he can’t or hasn’t before in his 30 years and granted he was nervous, I still didn’t see the techniques. He brought know incentive or value as to why the more expensive car would’ve been worth it.

biggest psychological thing i love about andy, is that he focuses on making his client repeatedly say yes. Always ask yes or no/would you agree kind of questions and they will psychologically find it hard for themselves to say no.
I was shocked how unprepared a 30 year vet was to convey anything that made sense to an objection. That was pretty slick to show value down the line and a repeat customer. I feel silly dealing with sales reps because it’s like we both are learning about what’s on the lot and what options it has while we are test driving car.
Yeah he absolutely crushed that graph speech. That was a perfect solution to his objection.
Time doesn’t equal anything
This was a rehearsed segment by the teacher. The sales world is much different than this isolated incident. I like the approach but it's unrealistic and will more than likely be detached from the customer's true objection.

Basically Andy was eliminating the price objections before proceeding the discounts. Creating value and letting your customers know the benefits why spending slightly more money is worth it. We all know we can either match the price or drop our pants to get the deal, but that just losing value on your product, and once that happens it goes down to who has bigger discount to offer. The problem with car sales is dealerships try and make the math a shell game. Professional sales is much different. Selling a car should not be bait and switch. It’s a simple transaction. People walk in trying to buy a car. The car salesman that is upfront and honest is always going to prevail.
Unfortunately, I would have to disagree, at least when it comes to car sales. I've tried two different times to sell cars and both dealers told me i wasn't cut for it because my strategy was to be honest and transparent. I would likely sell a lot of cars but wouldn't make them the most money possible. Which implies dishonesty on their part.
I will never finance a car again. I will go in with cash, tell them what I'm willing to pay and if we can't get close, I'll walk.
What a legend. He wants to learn and get better. Respect.
Andy primed Jessie by having him say “Yes” and verbalize agreement throughout the close…making the final “yes” that much easier
Incredible. I'm not even a salesman, and I find value in this lesson.
He just fleeced him…trade in value is based on condition. No one is going to know you got a better deal on the Dodge and as a result give you less when you trade it in…unless you volunteer that info

Great advice! I just think the “close me “ demos are just pointless because you’re determined to not buy and make the guy lose to prove your point. Just teach the lesson, don’t make people feel incompetent for no reason.
It's old school teaching which is so out dated. Agreed

Seeing people taking sales seriously is so refreshing ive worked in pest control for about 5 years and when it came to demos people always just fucked around and didnt take it serious thus taking away valuable time that couldve been spent learning from a scenario that could potentially be a reality one day. Now ive always been intimidated by sales and have doubted myself when it came to people and talking numbers only because im not even comfortable with my financial situation so i dont feel like its my place to even talk sales with anyone. But after watching these videos i feel motivated and want to give it my all and commit to something that i can see myself doing long term in the near future, ive seen the signs and now videos are popping up regarding to the signs ive been seeing so if im not mistaken destiny is calling.
He's basically selling value. Prospects get hung up on price, and some salespeople erroneously play that game. If you've qualified your prospect, you can actually use what they've told you to support your value proposition. Andy used depreciation, you can also use service if you have a better made vehicle.
Can also do the take away
This is why Car Salesman get such a bad reputation. A smart customer would counter with two things.
1) pull up Kelly Blue Book to see that in fact they depreciate at the same rate and it even seems like the Chevy retains value over the Dodge. So not only are they paying 3k more, but they can clearly see that either their salesman blatantly lied or just made something up to get them to buy.
2) the customer would ask for a written guarantee that upon trade in the dealership would match the trade in value of the Chevy and add $3k to the final trade-in price.
This is smoke and mirrors sales. Write a lot of stuff really quickly, try to back your client into a corner, and stick a pen in their face while asking for their credit card.
Very well said and i completely agree. I could've closed this sell without using this technique or using a chart and the best part is i would've made the client think it was their idea.
I would've told them why did you come back if the dodge was cheaper? Go buy the dodge then. 😉Then they would've started chasing me in a corner. Closing would've been all down hill from there. 🤷♂ Then i would've made sure their APR financing charge was lower than dodge by $5K And/Or there monthly payments were significantly lower. Lets see what kind of deal we can workout for you today John Doe since you came back to the chevy dealership you evidently seen we provide more value for our customers than dodge does. Now then IF we can't get you lower price or payments due to your credit or financing company will provide 5 years of oil changes until you're ready to trade in, at which time will buy the car back with a "written guarantee" on the buy back price. EASY sell.
@E L I T E O N T H E B E A T can you do back of envelope calculation for monthly payments quick on the spot? If not, i walk right now... how do you get around that?
Chevy is a better truck and does hold its value alot more then dodge
@@kushandkrypto6064yeah lol.. I dunno why he was trying to make out the guy was lying. He was just justifying the value. Chryslers are the fastest depreciating cars by far. Everyone knows that. If he pulled out the blue book he would have sold himself the car lol.
Yeah this is classic car salesman technique. Talk fast and pander to people while also throwing a lot of information at them and trying to get them to make a quick decision. I’m so happy I’m in business or business sales now instead of the car game. I just be myself and sell on the customer’s schedule, not mine. Slow down and sell faster

How to be a better sales man: timeless. Thank you andy
My first rebuttal would have been "I might not be alive in 5 years." 😂
Best way to negotiate with a dealership is do a group email between different dealerships, tell them what is your max price that you want to pay…..and watch them all try to out bid each other
That was epic. Not only did your argument make sense. The effort that went into explaining it to the customer would’ve earned my business.

Its boosted my confidence 3x.
In no way am saying it's easy or under valuing the process because there's way way way more to this than people could ever imagine not in the business and I can't wait to be a beast.
Andy's approach was spot on. Most people need guidance when making big purchases, and when someone speaks well, carries themselves well, and can guide you away from an inferior product to a quality product which will save them money and headaches in the long term, they will be successful and help the customer. Its important to pick the right company to start with. And most people arent confrontational. Im an RN with a decade of experience in multiple different specialities and i work with mostly women and they arent confrontational for the most part. Thats half the population right there, and a decent percentage of men arent confrontational either, so if you can hold yourself well and speak with confidence, look out for their interests and take the lead, in most cases youll be successful. Just show competence. People can smell low confidence/inexperience like stink on shit. So you have to be proactive with practicing your trade. When i work with patients i deliver quality care with confidence, even in the cases of apprehensive/argumentative patients. Their IV is in on the first stick in most cases and all interventions are carried out swiftly and correctly with confidence, kindness, some appropriately placed jokes and a smile.
Thank you Andy that is why I came to the master closer seminar to learn what you just showed me right there never been showed that before what a great class you’re never too old to learn when you quit learning you’re done
You’re the man Uncle J!
Uncle Jesse!!!
LOVE YOU UNCLE JESSE! 🔥🔥
That was honestly incredible:
Find the value
Emphasize to customer that they haven't gone with the other option yet
Sell the value
Package it nicely with a reminder that they haven't gone with the competitor yet
Subscribed
They both depreciate value and you never know if something will happen to the motor or trans or even the body to get your moneys worth for the next trade in. Horrible tactic to sell
Screw it, I'll buy the Chevy!! Don't even need a truck but you sold me haha. You are too good!
This guy thinks he's Jordan Belfort 😂😂😂
Yup and he ain’t… he sounds like a salesman , the key is to provide a solution that the customer can’t resist and sees high value without out being salesy.
Wow, I just bought this imaginary Chevy Andy was selling. Lol.
THATS WHATS UP 💪
Car salesmen are despised, real estate agents are revered. Is it even possible to make good money in car sales anymore?
I am impressed, I was thinking cost of ownership, brand image and service but that train of thought and argument was gold.
The deal breaker on that deal is powertrain warranty and depreciation. "How many miles will you put on that truck in 5 years?" If it's over 36-50k chevy wins on the 100k warranty. Stellantis has GUTTED their mfg warranty.
I'm getting your course !! Absolutely gold!!
Hey Allen shoot me a text!!

DONE 💪
Mind fucken blowing! Going to use this!
LOVE IT!!
Keep up the training and kill it brother
Same approach i would have taken. Car dealer my whole life, the best answer to objection is VALUE. The depreciation chart is something I often use. However, an experienced buyer could tear this argument wide open!
My father-in-law is a valuable weapon I wield when it comes to dealing with car salesmen. I bring him with me and he'll immediately shut these people down as his profession is sales of an entirely different caliber than that of a car salesman -- hedge fund management. He's not trying to close with a soccer mom, but other experts of business who are looking to invest millions of their hard-earned dollars with companies like Merrill Lynch. I admit, it can be a little uncomfortable at times because you know the car salesman is trying to do his job, but it's still interesting to see the contrast between these grades of sales people.
It can work for transactional sales, not consultative sales.
This is gold!
MY MAN!
Most sales people don’t understand that you have to practice this shit. Daily! No matter what you’re selling! Cars, insurance, CC processing, real estate, or candy bars, you have to role play. Take the top ten objections you get on a daily basis and practice with a role play partner. You can do it over the phone. Once you are in front of someone, it’s amazing how much the objection handlers help you!
95% of us haven't gotten in front of a room of 30+ people and gave a presentation. I've seen great salesman lose their compure momentarily because of pressure in front of their peers AND THAT'S FINE! because its a learning experience! We all are growing and getting better. You wouldn't be here if you weren't trying to be and if you aren't and are just condemning people for trying, regardless of how long they have been in sales, then you should look inside a little and ask where you're at yourself.
The only main thing Andy does better is he asks questions. So powerful.
The main lesson I learned. knowledge is power.
Teach your customers.
Thank you Sir.
WOAH. I was expecting the close being about asking questions and making the client think about what he liked more about the Chevy than dodge and increasing his value perception. That trade in value stuff was smooth AF.
I’m not even a salesman and I’d tell the customer, “The Dodge is cheaper because it’s a Dodge.” Then walk away from the customer.
He had the whole plot thought out way before he called that poor, unprepared guy up there. Why not call both cars the same, and just the other down the road is cheaper without all that other discount stuff. That would be a fair fight
Immediately subscribed. Beautiful way to emphasize the word cheap
Actually I wasn’t planning in trading it in. Would have been impressed if you covered that scenario too
You gave the man a situation he would never be in lmao. He never practiced that. He only practiced what he needed. Your a teacher. Which means you practice ALL forms of selling.
Great Point I learned a long time ago you pay for what you get in life, if you’re looking for a car that’s $8000 cheaper then the value of a car depreciates so much more than the car that is not discounted which actually gains more value in the long run and appreciates even more!
