@@GeneratorReviews Hey Gavin, if I buy a generator that has a 30 amp receptacle on it similar to the Honda Companion and parallel with a different generator will that 30a outlet work? Found a short clip where someone did it with a Yamaha and Honda Companion but not very many details. I have 2300 watt Pulsar and looking at an A-Itech/Genkins/AiPower 2300 that has a 30 amp plug built in which would allow me to not use an external box. Thanks! Great videos!!!
Love your videos - from what I have seen so far, Champion is the only company that uses those square connectors - kind of like apple and their proprietary connectors. I own and have used one of the Westinghouse dead-man parallel cords, pretty much does the same thing as the Champion parallel kit. Some folks hate the dead man connections, and I give it a lot of respect, but it does work.

If you are running parallel generators and one runs out of fuel, could it damage the generator like it possibly could running one single genset out of fuel under load?
Brilliant video, thankyou. I have been trying to figure out what size/power generator to get for our new section. ('cos wifey wants me to build her another new home on it!) As I had no idea I could link two generators together I was definitely going for the bigger gruntier machines to allow for any decent sized power tools I might require. Now I know that I can buy a smaller generator initially to set up the temporary accomodation, then link in a larger gennie to carry on with the build and possibly use them both as power back-up for any outage. Much appreciated, Cheers

@@GeneratorReviewsso if they’re both parallel capable but have different ports (one generator have square ports and the other having round) and they’re not exactly same wattage, recomended to not run the lm in parallel? I have a Honda 3200 and a champion 4500/3750, would like to run in parallel… thank you!
Paralling Inverter generators designed for paralleling is one thing and paralleling non inverter generators is completely different and much more complex than inverter generators. In both cases the generators must be synchronized in both voltage and frequency. In SOME inverter generators this is built into the inverter gate contol circuitry while in non inverter generators this control is not normally included. Also the load ratio between generators must be controlled to avoid one generator being motorized. It is a lot more complex than making plugss matched! A lot of salesman are full of BS
Why bother with the "special" paralleling cable? Use two standard 120V male plugs and one receptacle, all wired the same polarization. These paralleling connections on the generators are wired directly with the generator "standard" power outlet. There's nothing "smart" about these cables other than the have a guard around the connector to keep Mr. Stupid from easily shocking himself with an exposed plug.
Thanks again ! As I've commented before...yours are the Gold Standard videos ! You are the Go-To guy.
