Um, hold on. I can see why you might want to push back on some of Putin's finer points, but he's not actually wrong.
After the Cold War ended the Soviet block collapsed, but it wasn't entirely unilateral. The exchange for this collapse was that NATO push no further east (making the Warsaw Pact unnecessary, allowing for the collapse). Unfortunately NATO has ignored this directive and pushed closer and closer to the boundaries of Russia.
The old Soviet defensive line relied upon terrain features that are currently in Ukraine. If NATO didn't push closer to Russia then Russia wouldn't need those defences. But with Ukraine petitioning for _and about to get_ admission into NATO, this would put NATO _inside_ Russia's defensive line and within arm's reach of Moscow itself. This is a completely intolerable situation for Russia.
Putin tried many times to warn the West that it would not be tolerated. Hell, he even tried suggesting that Russia be allowed into NATO. But NATO is fixated on Russia being the bad guy. Putin tried to avoid this war.
He's also right about Western powers encouraging Nazism in the 30's. That's a matter of historical record. The Democrats were particularly fond of them. There was also a rising Nazism problem and persecution of Russians in eastern Ukraine prior to the war. So he's right about that too.
And he's also right about the pedophilia. I mean, ok, it's not totally normalised yet. But they sure as Hell are working on it. It's a valid criticism of Western culture at the moment. Hell, you'd have to be some kind of moron not to see the moral decay going on in the West at the moment. It seems to me that complaints about gay marriage aren't all that extreme given the context.
And yes, he's preparing for more war. I don't even think nukes are out of the question. Because he has to. It's either that or surrender Russia to the whims of the West. And Russia is too proud for that.
What we really need to do is back off. Give Russia and Putin some space and assurances that NATO will not advance. Assurances that need to be backed up with actual actions. Moving military personnel and equipment further from Russia, stopping the influx of weapons into Ukraine. In return for a peaceful retreat.
Why the West is so flagrantly dancing with nuclear war over a couple of Soviet states that wouldn't even be antagonistic to each other if it weren't for Western advances is completely beyond me. This kind of lunacy is the product of voting Democrat. 🤦‍♂️
