Seems like an awesome reel that works great for you on those smaller creeks and streams. Starting to cool down a little. You'll be out there catching trout on it in no time. .

I haven't gotten into ice fishing - I'm always looking for open water!

Nice review on the Silver Creek Aaron! Beautiful fish. I was wondering if you were still planning on getting the Calcutta Conquest and doing a video on that? Tight lines.

Definitely plan on it - just putting more money towards lures right now. Probably a spring purchase depending on what new reels might come out. Thanks for the comment.

Hey there. I’m thinking of getting this reel with the new major craft fine tail trek rod. What pound line and line specifically would you recommend for this reel, and trout fishing all around?

If you're using braid, 6 or 8# test is plenty. Then use a 4 or 6# leader. I usually use 6. For bigger trout (5# and up), this is where the line, the drag, and your skill comes into play - but stronger line might simply put your rod at risk of breaking. For me, that's the most fun of BFS - catching the bigger ifsh that really test the "system" in Bait Finesse System...

@@AaronHuntFishing thanks man. One last thing. Are there any brand specific braid you recommend? As I’d like to compliment the nice reel and rod with high quality line

@@christiancrandall6811 I've been a big fan of the Sunline Siglon lately. Suffix 832 is also good, and anything Varivas is awesome.

I’m considering using mine for steelhead but fear the line capacity won’t be enough and I’ll get spooled….

Guess that depends on the size water you're fishing. I'm consdiering making a steelhead trip with BFS as well...
