Mythic Legions is still a small niche and a mystery to many collectors. There's a lot of people selling their Legions on eBay, so the prices, while still high, are starting to come down some. It may be possible to get an older 1.0 style figure for an acceptable price. For certain characters I'm willing go higher than the 50$ retail price, but I have my own limit in my head. Yes it was a rare thing and completely caught most of us off guard. I had no idea they had 1.0 classic holy grail figs just sitting in a warehouse somewhere. Unfortunately, I was all prepared to try to score some classic figs, but I dozed off around 8 something, then woke up at 9:05 in a panic!!! My grails were long gone...sigh... but I did pick up a couple things... lol
@@datamag2018 Aww man! I honestly didn't think they would have any of those 1.0 figures either. I was mainly looking for Brother Mandibulus since I saw him restocking on big bad toy store. But of course, I was ready at 8pm in case older figures show up and oh boy am I glad I did. Raygorr and Gorgo sold out as I was clicking on them but I was able to get away with Vorgus Vermillius, Brother Mandibulus, and Calavius. Then the following day I went back and picked up Gwendolynne and Faustia. Crazy how limited everything else was!
Hey man great information on both these videos.... very informative and helpful in everything ymou stated. I'm a huge Transformers g1 fan and avid collector , and I just started collecting mythic legions about 2 months ago. I will tell you it definitely IS frustrating to not have the availability of the older 1.0 figures as not only are they the main part and huge part of the story line, but I am also now starting to amass a mainly female dominant army on both sides! Of course alot of the beast-men (like boarrior, ogres, etc.) and monster like figures are still available but would be nice to have a 1.0 male figure or two available. Anyway I could keep raving but I'm falling asleep.... PLEASE keep up the awesome work and videos! So nice to converse about this company and all the information you have brought to light! Thanks again!
Hey I'm really glad you found the videos useful and informative! I was noticing that as well with recent collectors because of how female heavy Advent of Decay was, lots of people found themselves with a huge imbalance in their collections, leaning towards female characters. It's like they went from one extreme to the other with the 1.0 males dominating the first waves. There were literally 0 females until Advent of Decay, that's 4 waves (5 if you count the bird figs)! The Arethyr wave has some 1.0 looking males so that's good and All Stars 3 has some 1.0 males as well, but all those knights and barbarians from the early waves are the ones going for huge dollars on eBay. There has been talk of the Horsemen making legion builders readily available for the original prices sometime in the future. Then you would at least be able to get unnamed 1.0 style figures and maybe kitbash and customize to get some balance to the collection. Thanks again for checking out the videos!

I'm really glad it was helpful! Hopefully you were aware of the preorder that literally just ended this past Monday. The new Illythia Wave just closed preorders on Monday 1/11/21. They will be available at online retailers later, but this was the best time to buy, as the figs were regular prices. I'm humbled and thankful that so many people found my little overviews helpful, I was really just trying to make a video that I would have benefitted from when I first got into Legions ( I had no idea what I was doing or what to expect or look for when I got into it!), so I'm very happy it has served its intended purpose!
Yeah I really have a good feeling that there will be preorder/new wave announced in the near future. As of now I'm slowly picking up figures from BBTS, there's still quite a few cool ones available. Trying to take my own advice and be patient, lol! Thanks again for watching!

I just kept seeing people say how they wished they could get in on it but one look at eBay prices scared them away. I was in that boat at one time too, so I understood that feeling. Datalynx Magnus very cool stuff!!! I’m a collector myself but have never ventured into Mythic Legions until now. This 2 part video def helped me kinda find a starting point and understand the history for sure!! Press on brother!
I'm OK with sculpt over super articulation. IMO these figures have a good baseline of articulation. Enough to make a very nice display in my IKEA cabinets.
Agreed, especially with this genre. Sword and sorcerer fantasy lines that are good/great action figures are scarce. He-Man figs look fine but they aren't true sword and sorcerer IMO, due to the fanciful technology and such. It works for He-Man so it's not a bad thing, but Legions is more in my preference.
Hmm, I'm not sure if its 30... that sounds like a lot considering no double joints in elbows or knees and no neck or ab articulation... Somehow they still work well though. Also, like I say in the videos, most people don't buy Legions for super articulation, the look and the genre is the main draw.
