My friend plays salamanders, and I want to face Vulcan on the table top so bad. I've already beat the Lion once, haven't had the opportunity to face Guiliman yet but I'm looking forward too it. I love playing against primarchs, they're such a great boss fight
A pretty good reveal, thanks for the watch along Val. Though I’m completely baffled by GW’s move to pre recorded reveals AND then missing out models to just add unceremoniously to warcom without any fanfare…
To me, there were three interesting things that stood out: 1. EC coming soon instead of Summer 2025, like they teased earlier. 2. Random Salamander?? 3. Knights pushed to come AFTER all chaos factions, instead of after Krieg. Also, no loyalist knights to be seen.
It might be a mixed codex for the More Codex Compliant chapters like Fists, Scars, Sallies,Iron Hands And Raven Guard. They all used to have supplements until 9th Ed but then vanished after. I think it would be a cool way to do that kind of book.
Only thing I'm not a fan of is that World Eaters and Emperor's Children don't have their own unique terminators. Officially merging the Chosen Marine armies with their daemon faction makes sense. A lot of time in the lore when these Marines take to the field their demonic counter parts are usually along side or about to pop in out of nowhere. Also a great stalling tactic since daemons as a range have a lot of angles covered already so it can make up for the current gaps in the Chosen Marines' lines.
Yeah its weird TS and DG have them but they do not. Same with BA not having termies (yet) after DA and SW supposedly getting them. And I’ll throw Black Templar Terminators in there for fun, I always wanted to see GW do a kit for them.
@@mikev8746 Maybe WE will get lucky and their release will be paired with a Terminator box release. How has GW been doing this so long and is so bad at the "Get started" phase of things. They compensate for their bad choices by making another bad choice of just overpowering what they did release for a new army in effort to try and make it seem like enough. I mean who decides the Lord Avocado was a better WE HQ unit to launch the army with over an on foot HQ? Why make the 8bound, which didn't exist in the lore yet, over Red Butchers which people were excited for and have been in the lore? They could have released the 8bound later as extra flavor unit. Sorry for the rant. Their choices are frustrating to think about.
Considering that EC Demons can ally with the marines, I think this is more hints that Chaos Demon codex might be nuked. The upcoming Thousand Sons, World Eater's, and Death Guard will confirm this when they arrive.
I wish some of these space marine-derivative armies would include more things than just "soldiers on foot". Heretic astartes should get more demon engines. Cacophony Dreadnought for Emperor's Children. Something more that adds spice to the silhouette of the army on display (which can otherwise get a bit monotonous). If not a demon engine, then at least a banner bearer with a large and striking banner. However, including demons in the same codex as the space marines will help quite a bit. The design space seems a bit more generous with demons as opposed to space marine-derivatives.
I wouldn't mind a Chaos mirror to Imperial Agents that included Chaos Damned, Daemons and some other stuff to make it more unique, basically the book of Chaos Soup
Maybe the salamander image is a book supplement with a few other divergent chapters. The last image I pray to the emperor of mankind is raptors or raven guard.
Noise Marines squad are finally here, along with the Flawless Blades, Infractors, Tormentors, Lords Kakophonist (looks like the early 2000s CSM Raptors models) and the one only Lucius. Fabulously refreshed. The Lord Exultant is the most favourite of this range reveal. The options I like in this kit. Him and the Lord of Poxes, his great plague sword is sculptured well, my top models for this week's reveal!
So if the upcoming roadmap takes us to what, october ish. drukhari, votann, space wolves all thats left. Makes sense they will announce 11th ed box set next christmas 🔮
If GW dont give support for all the Codex chapters with that Salamanders image, I really think they should release a Kill Team for each Codex chapter to give them all a Unique Unit! Medusan Immortals or Gorgon Terminators would make amazing Kill Teams
On the stream I believe they show some quick teaser pics and listed out the contents for the Emperor's Children combat patrol right? Val mentions in the video it comes with 6 of the new elite blade units, but does anyone remember what the other units were?
Combat Patrol is 10 of the battle line (Tormentors/Infractors), 6 Flawless Blades, and Lord Exultant. So Lucius and Lord Kakophonist (also Fulgrim) are the only new models not in CP or box set.
Luscious looks better than I imagined, but I'm more excited for the death guard: we all know at this point, morty is locked up in Nurgle's mance for his insubordination which got the garden burned
I guess injecting Daemons into their respective God Codex is one way of adding units to the army lol. Army set: Lord Exulant (Pink Chaos Lord, multiple weapon options) 12 (!) Noise Marines (said to be basically sonic Havocs, not sure about maximum unit size) 20 Tormentors/Infractors (Dual Kit, battleline units) Codex, cards etc. Combat Patrol (Callous Blades): Lord Exulant (Pink Chaos Lord, multiple weapon options) 6 Flawless Blades (Melee Veterans) 10 Tormentors/Infractors (Dual Kit, battleline units) Also, VULKAN LIVES! (AGAIN?!)
the one thing i was worried about was that the new style wouldnt jive with the all the custom builds ive been working on for years, thankfully my early buy choices and style were on point and its going to look fantastic mixed with the new stuff and the demons joing the army will go perfectly, i just hope they have access to venom crawlers and the disco lord in their own book.
Emperors Children look pretty cool, and nice to have a form of confirmation on the fate of codex chaos demons, though i expect it to be back. The roadmap is interesting, Imperial Knights not being there may disappoint some people i know, but bring on the World Eaters, the Death Guard, the Templars and Grey Knights. Also that Salamander is a head scratcher, could be codex Space Marines 2.0 with dedicated detachments for Ultramarines, Imperial Fists, Salamanders, Iron Hands, White Scars and Ravenguard, which as an Ultramarines and Imperial Fist player I'm down for, would go alonside all the rumoured new models
Probably (and hopefully) because they will have a big second wave and so need more time to properly package it and give the rest of the armies time to sell, before you have a massive wave.
I think the Salamander image likely represents the "wave" of new First Founding Chapter character models you mentioned rumoured recently. Be it in an updated Marine codex, or just a supplement codex to give more detachment options for those chapters perhaps? I honestly don't see Salamanders getting their own coded unless they're also dropping Vulkan himself - and I would think they would tease/reveal that before a Salamander codex.
Listing all the elite 3W marine infantry EXCEPT for Sword Brethren when talking about the new Slaanesh models? I didn't think you'd forget about Dorn, brother!
Back in 8th edition there was an Angels of Death codex that focused on some of the lesser first founding chapter. I'm thinking we might be getting something like this
I thought this was a pretty strong reveal on all fronts! Lots to get excited by... EC at first were good but not great to me but the more I look the more I like... can't wait to see what some of the masters do with them paint wise. As usual you hit the target pretty spot on for most everything, reminding me why I watch this channel once again :)
Salamanders could be a starting preparation for the Vulkan's return in the futur. After Russ except for BA, there is no chapter ready to receive their father...
@ For sure! I pretty much have most of my troops for Night Lords, just need to finish painting them. So I would keep these guys as Emperor’s Children. But I can see people making great use of these kits
What's odd in that roadmap image is that the Imperial Knights aren't on the menu for now. Could it be that we misinterpreted and that, while they will release in 2025, it'll be later?
Man emps kiddos are looking crazy! Lucius looks harder to paint then the Primarch, Fulgrim looks freaking huge on the box art, the blade masters heads being longer will add height to the shorter CSM model make them feel a bit more imposing next to Primaris. Look no termies, sad ok. But the six man noise marine with the big bad noise guy look like they specialize in hunting terminator!! The basic CSM look awesome like Valrak said very energetic poses. Can't wait to use most of these for an Alpha legion army. Wait no wolves?!? Wtf.
Im excited for Emperors children but i wouldnt mind some armour like the death guard got ,or some cheap auxiliaries like the thousand sons got in those beaky deamons.
I think they recorded the lvo then posted the article and when the posted the article decided to add hh in the mix but it was too late to show on stream
By the throne! I am so excited for new salamanders! I hope we get Chapter master Tu'shan or (🤞) Sa'kan or just new flame based marines. If we get Vulkan, I will loose my bloody mind! 🤯 Curious to see new thousand sons too.
Honestly Lucius' paintjob is kinda ass to me. It looks like a weird gimpsuit rather than the Armour of Screaming Souls. One thing I did notice about the EC is that they'd look phenomenal in their pre heresy scheme.
I hope its Salamanders. I have 2000k pts painted Salamanders with Vulkan He'stan. Getting the Primarch himself would be amazing! Let me have 2 Vulkans!!
Give me VULKAN 🔥
Exactly VULKAN LIVES!!!!

Lucius, as much as a bastard he is, does have a sick new model.
His blade and armour looks woah
the tongue looks extremely weird though. Wish there was a second version without this shlong hanging from his mouth.

Well technically the supplements were for 8th, but some of the contents carried over to 9th.
That’s a good point and would totally make sense, especially if there is to be a second wave as space marines this edition
I agree, it feels like Angels of Death.

Some might call it the lost and the damned
Wouldn’t that be crazy hard to balance?
@kelakogreenaddict1888 since when does GW worry about balance?
Maybe the salamander image is a book supplement with a few other divergent chapters.
The last image I pray to the emperor of mankind is raptors or raven guard.
Yes, I would love some Raven guard models
I hope this means that we will get more Ravenguard stuff soon.
The lack of eldar stuff was weird, was expecting them to show the combat patrol and if anything army box. Ec look sweet tho
The Emperors children look amazing! my army finally has models I've saved up so much for this release!!!!!!
The moment the Fulgrim: the Perfect Son audiobook is released, I'm buying it.
I wanted salamanders, and I got it

Would be fun to see Vulkan returning instead of Russ. This would make a great plot twist.
Lucius the eternal and his Jägermeister infusion system!
The noise marine has Hatemonger 👑 on his pauldron 😆
noise marine pouldron with the face looks like a hatemonger helmet lol
It does.... someone at GW is based.
NO LUBE
DG doesn't need another character model, but I'm blessed by papa to have an army with options so I wont complain to much.
2:41 he’s standing on an iron hands marine!!!
Good catch, totally missed that detail!
And?
The watch along was great. All the models were really nice as well!
I think the Salamander head might be the new characters rumors mentioned for the codex chapters
My boy plays salamanders. Please bring back Vulcan.
The silhouette at the end is an artwork of a space wolves
If salamanders does it mean vulkan returns
Prob not, but one day he will.
After looking at the EC sculpts, I'm feeling they could make a great base for nightlord conversions.
On the stream I believe they show some quick teaser pics and listed out the contents for the Emperor's Children combat patrol right? Val mentions in the video it comes with 6 of the new elite blade units, but does anyone remember what the other units were?

The fact we finally got great support coming to each chaos faction is amazing. Now I can say who’s ready to party to the sound of chaos.
I guess injecting Daemons into their respective God Codex is one way of adding units to the army lol.
Army set:
Lord Exulant (Pink Chaos Lord, multiple weapon options)
