Hello! Today I will be teaching you how to make this button front cardigan using my LK150 knitting machine. In this video I walk you through all of the steps of knitting my "Girlfriend Cardigan" pattern, linked above. Please go get the pattern if you would like to follow along! First, I show you how to cast on for mock ribbing and add on the button band. Then I walk through how to knit the extra large buttonholes using short rows. Next I show you how to do the neckline decreases, short row shoulders, and how to join the front and back. Lastly I show you how to seam the button band for a professional finish. Enjoy!

I got a bit wary when you put the live stitches on knitting needles, but relieved when you were just sewing them together. Phew! (I can't knit by hand.) Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. I think that I'll be able to follow your pattern to make my first big project on my machine. Thank you!

I wanted see the sleeves , do you have any baby cardigan patterns you can show me?
I tried to convert to bulky machine 9mm but I was unsuccessful. Should I try to get gauge and follow the pattern as is for my Brother kh260? Do you have the pattern for a bulky 9mm machine? I bought the pattern for mid gauge
Hi! Are you able to get the gauge on your machine? If so I would recommend that! Otherwise you could try making a couple sizes down to compensate for the gauge, though it’s not a perfect solution and may need more mods.
@@girlyknits The pattern calls for 5.25 sts and 7.75 rows = 1”. I am able to get 5 sts and 8 rows = 1" with Tension 3 on my machine and worsted acrylic yarn #4. Should I make a size up or down to compensate?
That is very close so I think you would be okay making your size, it just might be slightly larger
