Those poops aren't "falling" behind the cage....they are pushing them out intentionally! The will pee out the side of the cage too...why poop and pee in your living room when you can poop and pee out the window! They are so smart....and so is Midwest for putting that cage on wheels
Rats burrow in the wild...cant blame them from hiding under fleece. Even if you use tiles they will likely just chew a hole in the middle and get under it that way. We bought theexensive Bass equipment pans and swithed to bedding because we couldnt keep up with the laundry requirements of fleece. I have mad respect for those who can keep up with the fleece!
HammyLux my ratties always end up just chewing holes on the fleece I do 2 layers with the top one not clipped down so they can play under it instead of fighting with them on it just because they always seem to find a way under the fleece anyways
If you know how to sew, you can try and sew a double layer, with holes in it. So they can go in between the layers, but hopefully not between the shelf and the fleece if that makes sense!

Was wondering if you had a PO box . I'd love to send a gift. I love the babies so much teddy and his ears are a favorite he's adorable as well as all the other boys. When you own rats there never seems to be an end to things you want/need to buy lol it's one of the things I love about owning my rats, although my wallet doesn't always agree. I love how busy and colourful your cage is, I noticed my boys sleeping under the liners also so I decided the try the tiles and they just chewed the center lol and still got in. Now iv taken out the whole middle level to make it more interactive for them when they want to go up or down they love it but as they are getting older I keep putting levels back lol. Also wanted to say I also have a Bo although it's spelt beau but I call him Bobo lol, and his brother is bozzely. I love seeing videos of your new rats, you’re very sweet to them! I was wondering though, what do you feed them typically? You may have already said this but I missed it. I would recommend a lab block like oxbow. The treats you give them are very good and nutritious, however rats like to pick through their food and eat only what they enjoy most (in this case maybe just the blueberries instead of the oats). A lab block keeps them from doing this with their food. Giving them other foods to supplement their diet is a great fun way to interact with your ratties, but I recommend giving them oxbow as well ☺️

Know I am not hammylux, but guessing they're all males or else the female/-s could get pregnant at a really young age and they could die. But I recommend having rats, they are so social and amazing pets! I currently have 2 but I always recommend keeping atleast 3 in case 1 dies and 3 is more of a group. I myself like keeping 4-5 rats😊 Females are often have more energy and can easier get tumours, males are oftes calmer, smell more and can get problems with their hormones at the age 5-12 months. Hope this helps you a little😊

I'm exactly the same, except with me I just had 7 hamsters. I've been dying to get them for more than a year now and sadly I only have 4 hamsters left. The only silver lining is that I can get my ratties soon! If you truly want them you can always make sure they're your next pet!

I know people who use that cage full time for a single rat. They won't listen to reason when I told them they should buy at least two rats and a bigger better cage. I gave the some recommendations on cages but they said the rat will be fine. This is there first rat and I've had rats for 20 years. But they know more. 😒
Same! I wish they would listen. And it not like I can quit being friends with them. Most of the time I have to go and clean the cage and feed and water him. I have gone to there house his water bottle and food dish or completely dry and look like the haven't been been watered and at least week and hasn't been cleaned and a long time. I've called people and they refused to take the rat away because where we live it's "just a rat".

I really want some rats but my mom won't let me because they "Stink" and she doesn't want more pets but I'm sure if she would just let me get them she will love them as much as I will. I have done like 3 days of consistent research and looking at good sized affordable cages that hopefully I can pay for myself with at least 1/2 bar spacing hopefully I have enough money to pay for it all myself to encourage my mom to let me get some and I'm really hoping that when we move it my mom will be less stressed and actually think about it but maybe I'm just getting my hopes up about the whole thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Bean my girls literally don't have a bad smell at all they are litter trained so that makes it easier not very smelly
