God used this song to quiet my anxiety before a surgery. I will never forget how anxious I was and this was the first song I heard the day before the surgery when I turned the radio on in my car. I burst into tears because it was so perfect for what I needed to hear right then.
Many years ago in my early 20's back in the 80's I used to volunteer to help out backstage at concerts loading or unloading the gear from any number of Christian bands that came into the Fox Theatre in Detroit back at that time. I was at a Dallas Holme concert and moving instruments and luggage into their bus when I came across this gem who was sitting backstage watching Dallas singing. She had started off the concert and blew my mind because I had heard her music for several years before. She was probably the most beautiful woman I had ever seen in my life. Nobody was her equal and she had the most beautiful spirit that you could imagine and when she looked at you with those amazing eyes you were a goner! She was also very young back then as well. It was my great privilege to have been able to meet Twila Paris in person and shake her hand and thank her for allowing God to use her to bring a message of hope and truth and joy to so many people.

She closed her performance by saying a few encouraging words to the audience, reminding us that God is indeed in control and always will be. Then she sang a somewhat subdued version of this song. At the end there was no applause, everyone was just too overwhelmed to applaud. Very moving, very inspiring. It lifted my spirit just when I needed it the most. Thank you, Twila.

My oh my how we need songs like this and others to encourage us in this day and time. So many people are struggling with life and wonder why their life is so hard. Many times the problems of life are just too much to cope with and we feel the Lord has abandoned us to deal with the mess by ourself. I mean if we are to be honest, life can often feel overwhelming. That's just the truth. We feel it's just too much and many people leave the Church and completely stop praying or reading the Bible. In other words, they walk away from the Lord because they feel they've been given a rotten deal in life beyond their control. That the Lord could care less. So they walk away. In those dark times when we feel completely alone, we often wonder where is the Lord. Why did he leave us in this mess. Sometimes we do make the mess but other times we don't. The mess is just dumped on us. I mean let's keep it real, not all problems are created by us. Sometimes it might be a layoff from a job, a car wreck, health problems, or whatever that's brought into our life that was not our fault. I mean we can understand when we do something stupid and we make the mess. We understand that, however it's when we don't understand why, that's when it's really hard. I don't know, maybe it's all a test of faith. I mean let's be honest, anyone can praise the Lord when life is peachy. When things are going well it's easy to say Amen and have lots of faith, anyone can do that. However, that's not faith. Praising the Lord is great but praising Him in the good times requires no faith. Real faith is praising Him when things don't go your way. When life is not peachy. If things are going bad and you can still praise him, then your really living by faith. Like the Facing the Giants movie, "we praise Him if we win, we praise Him if we lose." If we can ever get to that point where we praise Him no matter what the situation, then we truly know God is in Control.

My kids and I met Twila in San Jose in the 90s. She spent time with me to pray for my spouse that she may come to know Jesus personally. Some month later she did. 2020??? God is ALWAYS in control but based on results here now in 2024 I highly doubt the mess this country is in was Gods will
But yes He is still and will always be in control. The turnout of things cannot always be placed on God being in control. It’s OUR free will that He loved us so much to give us that dictates at times what happens here. The 2020 choice was peoples ignorance and free will.

My kids and I met Twila in San Jose in the 90s. She spent time with me to pray for my spouse that she may come to know Jesus personally. Some month later she did. I think about Twila from time to time. She must be retired by now or teaching music somewhere. I will never forget that day when we met. Thank you.❤

I saw this great woman in concert around 1989 in a assembly hall church in Southfield, Michigan! Standing room and many would take turns with allowing others to sit down. Awesome woman of faith !! GOD KNOWS ALL

I remember when this song came out I wold sneak out of my room in the middle of the night and watch this on Christian Musica Televesion on our satellite. I always thought I would get caught because this was the 90s and satellite dishes were HUGE and made NOISE when they would move to get your channel! LOL
