I still ride my Ducati with the Elletronica ignition system. It still starts easily and runs well. I have a new Sacshe system ready to fit if the old system fails but after 46 years it shows no sign of trouble!

I am amazed at the bodges I find when working on old motorcycles. If you fit the later valve guides, how will you modify the rockers to clear the seals?

We carefully grind the closing rockers down on the lower valve side. Just like the original items found on later engines with the top hat valve stem seal.

Interesting to see the gearbox mods, interested to know the condition of the gear that has a dog attached (4th?) I remember this was a weakness in the design, one of the gear teeth was located on the edge of a dog and had a tendency of chipping off a chunk. That and the dogs rounding because of the backlash dogs.
I have had my 75 750, since 1981 an ex race italian bike, rode it home from Italy with the original ignition system coughing through the carbs onto my knee when it transitioned from full retard to full advance.
