Can I just make something clear Keef. It certainly wasn't a "date". I put a shout on my Instagram page and asked did anyone else fancy a walk up Yr Wyddfa and Carol was the only one who responded.
Thank god she did and I had someone to walk with even though her sense of direction wasn't the best at the beginning 😂...So not a date ok.

An hour off-track, away from the beaten-track ... not the best start "camp-leader" ...true to form tho, why break the habit of a lifetime lol 😂 ...Defo need to triple check directions at those intersections our kid!! Got there in the end tho - jolly well done you two intrepid travellers. A few gurt good larfs along the way - Xcellent 🤙😎

Who’s up for the next one? Not me! Not unless it involved less mountain and more pub lunch. The weather was exactly like that the last time I climbed Snowdon, and it was also exactly like that for the whole week that we climbed Kilimanjaro for Velindre. Which was the last time I walked, climbed or waddled up, along or over anything where there wasn’t the prospect of a nice lunch. The Brecon Beacons, where I’m from offer amazing walks, but also splendid pubs. The same is true of the Peak District National Park where I live now. Stunning walks, superb pub lunches. And I don’t think that’s a coincidence, I think God Himself intended us to enjoy His most scenic work enhanced by a nice pub lunch, a glass of wine and comfortable lavatory facilities. All of which I can confirm are very sadly lacking on godforsaken African mountains. Admittedly Snowdon is more civilised given that there’s the train option and a visitor centre at the summit, but you might find (as I did) yourself sitting next to an oversized American tourist on the train and then being very disappointed by lunch. That’s one thing I will say for Kilimanjaro. The long drop bogs might have been horrific, but there were very few large American tourists at the summit.

@@carol_ann_living.in.the.moment Ah, I’d need the details of the pub so I could check out the menu in advance. I might be an old Welsh pit pony, but even they need a suitable nose bag to make the plodding worthwhile. At a bare minimum I’d be looking for a decent sossidge and mash with the option of a mustard or horseradish dressing that involved the words ‘Tewksbury’, ‘Dijon’ or ‘hot/grated’. I’m not so old that I can’t see the joys of becoming wet and bedraggled in scenic splendour, but I am long enough in the tooth to know that a lousy lunch can rather diminish said joy. That said, I suppose I could always deploy my food flask and bring something from the restaurant if the alternative were to be a generic boil in the bag offering from a place that took pride in seeing themselves as a step up from a Wetherspoons. Eating the waterlogged bog you fell in on the way there would probably be preferable!

@Mr_Boaty So I'm guessing my meagre offerings off a peanut butter and banana butty is just not going to cut it with you is it....its crunchy peanut butter I might add, none of that smooth rubbish 🤣.
Maybe your palette is more acquainted with more delectable delights than my usual half way up a mountain squashed tin foil wrapped delights, if your lucky you might even get the odd bit of foil hitting any fillings making the whole experience just something else.
I bet you're kinda thinking about it now aren't you 😂😂

@@carol_ann_living.in.the.moment Gosh, you make it sound so….well, very resistible! But it could be rather fun,. Bring your baby food, inexpertly wrapped in filling threatening shredded foil and I’ll bring a staff curry. Let’s have a ramble, a lunch off and make a possibly rather amusing video!

Well done 😂😂. Shame you didn't have the views. Ive not been up Yr Wyddfa, the hundreds of tourists put me off!! 😁😁. Obviously you picked just the right time to climb it! It's reputed to be even more spectacular when covered in snow. I bet you and Molly slept well!! Crib Goch next then 😱😱😂😂.

@tazminmoore455 The last 2 times I've done that path the views have been pants 🤣 although I do like it because it's always pretty quiet. Honestly couldn't believe how quiet it was on the summit too...just how I like it 😊.
I'd love to do Crib Goch, but I'd only do it with someone experienced...I'm not that brave, or stupid lol.

Poor Alan. 1st date and it was dirty!! 😂 I remember Snowdon well. Got halfway up and the mist descended so didn't have a clue where to go. Ended up on the side of a very rocky steep slope and was relieved when the must lifted. Returned to the path and got to the top to see ...... nothing except thick mist. Loved it!

Brilliant 😍 Quite an adventure Carol, well captured in your vlog. I feel that the Rhyd Ddu path is a solid challenge, especially in the somewhat hostile weather you and Alan had, not to mention the extra muddy bits before even starting 😬 So to do all that while also keeping Molly in check and holding a camera - quite the professional 🙌👏
Unfortunately, had to fast-forward 9:08 - 9:45, way too traumatising 😱 But my walk down was easier, having met you all.
Also, wish I'd known you got so wet on descent, as I'm staying in Rhyd Ddu, so you could've dried off here!
Anyway, looking forward to your next adventure 🙌

I thought this was a really fun video to watch; is love on the horizon for you and Brian? And massive respect to those forgotten super heroes who did all that stone work at the top of Snowdonia for a shillin' a week and they had to provide their own wet gear and sleep on the job when they had time to inbetween snow, hail , wind and rain storms. Is Molly singing all the time when she's out and about with you?
