- Welcome to my apartment tour!!
I moved into this apartment in August 2020 after graduating from Michigan State. I have slowly put it together using a lot of inspiration from Restoration Hardware going for a modern and vintage mix using mostly light neutral colors and lots of texture. I get asked all the time about my Restoration Hardware Cloud Couch Dupe so I answer the most common questions about the couch and show you both the pros and cons. I am also an organization freak and show you how I've organized my apartment from the kitchen pantry to the bathroom closet. My cats were very curious while I was filming this so they make several appearances :)

Girl me too I just moved Monday and I’ve watched soooo many! It’s so satisfying while I place things and hang things!

I too am binge watching every night and I should be cleaning my place or working on my taxes but I am on the computer for 10 hrs a day, taking to hundreds of people about airbag recalls, seatbelts, radiators, etc and it is nice to sit and get ideas for home decor. I should have gone into interior design as them you love your job more and everyday tour creating something beautiful. I mat be moving soon not a choice of mine and I may have to go LOTS smaller than now do I have been watching mainly studio apartments but I would rather buy a trailer soon I think where I own it and can paint it how I want it. They do not keep their value but I would own it. Then I can crank up my electric guitar and not worry about neighbors. My area is very over priced for rentals so you have to learn how to stick to a budget. If your robbing Peter to pay Paul, you never move ahead. I just paid off my credit card. Min due, $35 next months finance charge $47. So I took money out of savings and paid the $2235 and within 3 months it will show on my credit report and it will go 10 notches higher for a higher score. Happy binge watching. I need to hit the hay. I start work tomorrow at 7am.

Could you do a video on living with cats? How you keep your apartment neat. How you keep them from eating the plants, and scratching at your furniture. Etc. Would be appreciated! Looking forward to seeing it 😀

I bought a twin size down comforter and a twin size linen duvet from H&M it is now my couch blanket .. it is so cozy!
Really cute, functional, simple, understated, yet still very airy and stylish. I like a lot of the Apt and Home tour videos as well. Most are very pretty of course, with great decor and style ideas, but some are so extra and over the top. Watching this video gave a very normal warm and homie vibe. 👍🏽

I like just plain coffee also. So I'm glad I found someone else that does. Your apartment is very pretty. I love netural colors also, whites, grays, and it is very organized. Which always catches my attention cause I like everything to have a place. Unless you need to relocate due to work or school I would stay another year. Its really nice and has amenities you didn't have before and you have it finally the way you want.

A couple of things to note: Your attention to detail within a video is second to none. You understand what your viewer wants to see and hear. you didnt rush anything which is a nice touch along with perfect viewing angles. Your breakdown of everything that was listed was nice touch as well. It gives the audience something needed/helpful to do after the video. Your articulation within the video is amazing as well. Last, your editing of the video was a wonderful job. It showed a very nice story of your message for the video. Some of these were not simply on the content but the delivery of the content. For that I am subscribing lol. I dont even know what else your page is about but it is those small things that are captivating. Only thing I would love to see is better focus of the camera and slightly better resolution. Other than that this was amazing. Keep doing what you do!

LOVE LOVE LOVE your apartment! Do keep in mind some oils do harm some cats. I used to run my diffuser all the time when I noticed my kitty acting different.

Take the measurements of the space before buying a sofa... one of the best tips that can be given to anyone who is designing a floor plan or starting to shape an interior design or decor project. My wife and I made that mistake when we purchased our LC3 Sofa from Manhattan Home Design and then discovered that it didn't even fit well in the allotted space. It could have been worse, but the truth is that, in the end, we were able to reconfigure the space's design and put everything in its place. Thanks for the tour.

Your apartment is so cute! I would put a table where one is supposed to go. It’s in such an odd area and would make that space cluttered. It’s be cute to put a circle rug there though to fill up the area!

Eve, You have the greatest apartment I have seen in a very long time. It is spacious and nice and bright and your mirrors also help. It's great having a washer and dryer. My advice to you as you mentioned in your furnace closet having cleaning supplies. Mops and trash bags, brooms are ok but I am sure you are smart enough not to have solvents, clorox, chemicals near a hot water tank. I am a hazmat inspector and I use to be with OSHA. Presently, I am employed at one of the largest GM dealership franchise in the DC, MD, VA area and I am aldi the inventory clerk. We fo all the recalls for the State Dept, FBI, CIA, Police, Fire Dept and all the armored vehicles for the White House. I order all the customer parts. I am on the phone about 10X a day with warehouses in Lansing, Flint, Willow Run, etc. I would love to go yo Michigan someday. I was hoping and praying Trump would have opened up the factories for Detroit to get people back to work.
I am interested in what line of work you are in, what was your major and how much (ballpark figure) is your rent. Also, I would stay where you are for at least 2 to 3 years. Everytime a credit check is one on you for rental application, the credit checks hurt your credit score. Rebrs go up all the time. Application fees are a waste of money unless you get them back if you move in.
I grew up with Siamese and Hymalian cats. I also love that tall white dresser you have where you keep your Ray Bans and jewerly etc. All my reading glasses are Ray Bans. Have a good nite and weekend.

PS For that blank canvas wall space, think about getting one of those large cork boards from IKEA floor to ceiling style for at least one half and with pretty gold tacs or other pins you can put up photos or prints of artwork you can even hang light weight framed items on it. They are peel and stick wall friendly.
Your home is beautiful, I think your entry way is fine without the dining table, especially if you'd only be getting it because "the space was made for it".

A bit late to the party but in the lobby/dining area if you don’t want a table, I’d get a big comfy bench seat, like one with a cushion and no back, then when you come in you can sit on it to take shoes off etc and will look really good too x

I would add a round dining table with just about 4-5 chairs. On that big empty wall I would either do one big statement piece that had neutral colors or a gallery wall with some accent colors. Another idea would be to put one big neutral piece in the middle leaving space on the sides for some black and white photos arranged vertically. I hope this might work for you 👍

Hi there - you have a beautiful apartment but just a quick note about essential oils and your cats - Rex and Rory are super cute BTW. Please check with your veterinarian to see if the EOs you're using is safe. Cats lack the ability to metabolize EO and it can cause major issues down the line with their livers. I had a lilac Himalayan and I used lavender oil which is supposed to be safe but she had kidney and liver issues later on in her life. She lived to be nearly 18 but the last two years were tough for her. In hindsight I would not do it again.

Your apartment is decorated very well. I love it! You might get a tulip table or a round table and put a floor length table cloth on it, put it under the dining light but decorate it as a foyer table instead of eating table & if the long foyer table with the mirror would fit on the wall where you have the keys the round table wouldn’t feel crowded. Then put your cute little key holder on the small wall beside the door. As for art suggestions take you time and look around. Pinterest also has a lot of good ideas on round tables and art. Sometimes I see good prices on nice size good looking canvas art at Burlington’s.

The entryway looks perfect as it is, couldnt even tell thats supposed to be a dining room. The light fixture suits your design well, and yeah it definitely would be very strange having a dining room table right as you come in... I feel like if you did that it would mess up the flow of your house. And its 2021, who uses a dining table anymore ? Lol. Your house is perfection as is

I forgot to add I have the same couch except I have it in the sectional. Yes it is very messy and I'm always fluffing but I love it. I was like that's my couch! Are you into any Sarah Brooks pictures? You could do so many different prints cream and tan or black cream or all white you can find them at TJmax homegoods, More of a modern look you might have to keep checking but there beautiful would really be beautiful in your living room. Also check out texas rugs on line, very good quality I get my rugs there all the time very netural colors I think you and I have alot of similar taste and what you see is actually the product high end look great price. I'm obsessed with there rugs and know there not cowboy you think texas but there actually modern rugs. I have not seen such unique rugs. Thought you might like them. If you do let me know.

Did you use command hooks to put your little mirror on your entryway?? I live in an apartment and dont wanna ruin the walls.
no, I have everything nailed into the studs in the wall. I checked with my apartment management and they have no issue with holes in the wall as long as they’re not huge! I would just check because most places don’t mind, it’s very easy to fix a small hole in the wall :)
I'm also from Michigan (Holland). I'm going to be moving out in a few months, so I've been watching some apartment videos just to get ideas. I love the aesthetic of your apartment, but I doubt mine will be as nice 😂.

how did you mount your dyson to the wall?? I am also renting and don’t want to drill holes or damage the wall!
It is drilled into the wall with small screws! I have a lot of stuff mounted to my walls but I asked permission from my leasing company beforehand. From my experience most places will let you if you ask but you may have to fill the holes yourself when you leave. Good luck!
Your apartment is so cozy ! It's not hard to take the light down and add a couple dollar plate over the opening. I would take it down and leave the space open. The olive branches in your vase look good in your video. Do they look pretty real in person or just so so?
