Definately Bryson won it. Hands down. Rory did what Rory does...collapse/choke. Bryson is genuine. He is the best thing for the game. After stopping the guy from taking the ball that he intended for the kid at the PGA, the way he congratulated Xander, the way he won at Pinehurst, the way he gave props to Rory, and the way he made it about the fans...well, needless to say he is my absolute favorite golfer. Rory's lack of sportmanship by not congratulating Bryson on the 18th and dodging the media shows what he is made of. Disappointing. What a sharp contrast to Bryson.

Definitely a hard one to take for Rory, so we won't tear him down. Wish he would have congratulated Bryson, but we can excuse the skipped media appearance. That being said... is Bryson DeChambeau the new face of golf?!

Rory was in a zone and loose, then missed a putt and could not refocus. Bryson was grinding all day and focused. It is mental discipline and character. Bryson never gave up. Amazing!

Subscribed for life. I've watched a lot of US Open coverage (and watched it live on sky sports via peacock for the actual event - which was great) and your takes on the tournament are magnitudes better and anything else I've seen. Everything else seems to be corporate brainwashing driven. Best major and best major course I've ever seen by far and way better than Augusta. Dwarf Bermuda is an amazing putting surface.

@@LoggerheadGolf I have to say the LIV golfers looked fired up in Nashville, with Rahm's play showing more positive signs and the winner (Hatton) fixing his putting stroke. I wonder if Brits will hold a grudge against Bryson, maybe just for beating Rory and the tepid USA chants might get reciprocated with interest.

Rory watched Bryson hit 15 then bogied 16. Then he watched as bryson knocked it to 15 ft on 17 so pulled driver on 18 thinking he needed to birdie . His mistake was looking back not forward. Bryson won it as he played great after bogie on 12 bar that 3 putt on 15.

Bryson almost gave it up but then stepped up and won it! Rory played like he had for the past 10 years, which was not to win.

Top 10 choke of all time. If bryson hits the other side of that volunteer's leg with his drive on 18 or hits a better shot that doesnt leave an impossible bunker shot for his 3rd and roughly has some decent up and down like rory did the choke would look much worse. All that being said, rory missed a putt on 16 that shotlink had as 19 inches and a putt on 18 that shotlink had at 28 inches. Not van de velde or phil at winged foot but pretty bad.

    • @meles3740
      @meles3740 2 месяца назад

Shotlink has quite the imagination. The amateur runner-up cratered at 18 three putting from 5.5 feet. Rory just under 4 feet.

Dude in the white hat barrels through everyone else. There are several times where a couple of them start saying something at the same time and the white hat guy never yields, he always steamrolls the others. He's just waiting for his turn to speak and doesn't seem interested or concerned at all with what anyone else is saying

Absolutely brothers you guys are young head that up if it’s a ridiculous, you should not be penalized for that. The field should be equal to everyone so you went out first as losing the tournament. The winners are going out later to a minefield. How does that work? It should be ground under repair.

No, the biggest choke job in a major was Norman losing to Faldo. I've never been on the BAD bandwagon, not a hater either, but his eccentricity and unique approach is being validated and that's a pretty cool thing. I think both statements are true: Rory lost it AND Bryson won it because if roles were reversed, it would be the same statements.

    • @markbertolone6052

Ya both are true because Bryson was making consistently great saves all day. He didn't go out there and get the signature birdie on 16, 17, or 18 to put it away but his round was less volatile than Rory's, which is important to win the I.S Open. Bryson went out and pushed for birdies on Sunday of the PGA because that was what was required. I think his strategy in all the majors has been spot on, shame he had a poor Sunday at Augusta. Also Bryson did all of that Sunday with a new driver head that he barely had swung. I think if he didn't need to change his driver head he would've been a couple strokes out in front even with Rory hot. Of course if Rory was still playing hunter he may not have messed up.

Rory is so frustrating. He definitely choked because of when he dropped the shots, 3 in last 4 holes.
He needs a different caddie. One who advises more on the shots. Share some pressure.
On 18th tee Rorys caddie should have threw the driver away & told Rory here's the 3 wood. Drive it up the fairway.
Rory no class to stay & face up & shake the winners hand.

It is true that Brandel never missed an opportunity to say how "fortunate" Bryson had been all week. Brandel is not my favorite commentator, and that's being as polite as I can be. His elitist smugness just bleeds through every word he utters on air. He's so smug and has such contempt for the LIV guys. He shouldn't be there
