I still remember wall climbing, sky diving, wake boarding, barefoot water skiing, bungee jumping. Flatland, vert doubles, inline. Etc. The "olden" days.
I always loved sky surfing. Those tricks they pulled of were amazing. The 90’s were truly the best years of X-Games.

@@plantmandanny the invisible man was one of my favorites, if I’m not mistaking the name. I may be remembering wrong, but I thought they either banned it or most wouldn’t attempt it because people would blackout from pulling too many g’s.

Street luge looks fun, but Xgames is kind of cringe. Or maybe that's just how things were in the 90's.

I remember watching this, Im still riding bmx and that's why I used to turn on, but the street luge took me back to the days of hill bombing as a kid on my santa crux Rob roskopp multiface.

X games went to a more stadium based approach after 2001 and you cant do luge in a stadium. I think there were some legal ramifications as well but the luge scene is still going to this day :)

I use to sell street luge wheels to Biker and his crew. Was at the San Diego X Games delivering him wheels.
A time trial competition (overtaking is hard unless the course is easy) would be fantastic. Find some 90-second downhill and let them loose!!!
If you have the right track passing isnt hard. You just need high speeds and intense braking zones. We have many examples of these types of tracks on the current world street luge tour!

Im 42. I grew up watching this on tv as a kid late nights on tv. ESPN would always be showing this at 1 am on summer nights. Memories. It's kind of dumb nowadays if you think about nowadays. Can you really go downhill on a highway without getting smashed by a car?
Back when xgames was really good and showed alternative sports and then they cancelled them all sports like this and climbing and added rallycross 🤯
