    I have had an RR Sport with the 4.2 supercharged jag engine for 14 years. 350,000 km. (210k miles). Bulletproof drive train. Longest vehicle I’ve ever kept & I still love it. It has been a great vehicle.

      I am thinking of buying one. Are they expensive to run fuel wise? The £695 road tax made me sit down as I nearly fainted. But I like them and always wanted one. I would use it on a long journey once every month and use it at the weekend mainly

    Have a 2008 4.4L V8 and have kept it since new, just passing 100,000 miles. It's been remarkably good so far. Had a couple of minor issues with the air suspension, and that's it. Moreover, we recently bought a piece of agricultural land on a steep slope and the RR Sport crawls all over it, hauling building materials to locations where big picks cannot manage.

    This year we bought a 2006 RRS HSE with the bomb-proof 4.4 litre naturally-aspirated V8. We've named Basil. He runs like a top, sounds like a Jaguar (with that yummy AJ-V8) and handles like a dream. Before we bought him, our mechanic swapped out the air-suspension for springs, so he's got a sporty Euro-feel now with zero body-roll. A delightful daily-driver! As with any Rover, especially, I tell friends that if they want one they need to do their homework. Thank you for your comprehensive take on the Range Rover Sport-- and for letting potential buyers know what they're in for. A well-maintained, well-kept Rover with issues addressed will bring much joy! Basil has 193,000+ miles so far and is happily purring along.

    NEVER use a LR franchised dealer to service your RRS. There are plenty of LR 4X4 specialists out there that will genuinely look after it properly. But some are still sharks. It doesn’t need a service each year, but it does need looking after.
    Much better value than a same aged Discovery. Though the suspension is harder on the 2010 and younger versions.

    Once you tried a 5.0 you will be hooked. Just watch out for the timing chains.
    Fuel is not good but if it's a second car it doesn't matter so much. Still get 23 - 25 mpg on a run.

      Hey thanks for the comment! I’m not sure how much the conversion would cost. I’ve not heard of anyone doing that. Sounds interesting, I’d be interested to see after costs what you mpg would be. 70k kilometres sounds good. I’d check service history and give it a test drive. You could have a decent car on your hands there! Good luck. 🤗

    Could you give me some advice I’m looking to buy a Range Rover this week It’s a 2006 137,000 he wants $6,000 clean title he said he replace water pump and thermostat do you think this is a good choice to buy ?

    • @CarChatTV
      @CarChatTV  Год назад

      Hey Eddie, thanks for the comment. I would give it a test drive and test all the things we spoke about in the video if it’s got a good service history and the body work is good/interior I would go with your gut. If you can’t find another one as good as this one and you have shopped around a bit. I would consider it. Take someone with you to test drive the car. Let me know what you decide. Good luck 🤗

      It was from a private seller that came with me on the test drive and I kept catching my foot on something when I braked and I said I keep catching my foot and it’s putting me off! When we got back I had a quick look and saw this plastic thing sticking out. I asked what it was but he changed the conversation anyway fast forward to collecting the car and I looked again and it wasn’t there….. 3 days or so later bing bing bing faults start popping up 5 or 6 different ones! So off to the garage it went was told it needed £6500 worth of work the plastic thing I was catching my foot on was a diagnostic chip the bloke was controlling from his phone! It nearly needed the full wiring loom as when the previous owner took the body off it was all ripped apart!

    Whats a better car for the money? This or a range rover l322 vogue?

    • @CarChatTV

      Great question! I would look at the spec and see which car has the better options and better interior/exterior both beautiful cars, If they are the same I would say the sport edges it for me. And there are definitely some great deals to be had out there. Thanks for chatting 🤗

      @Car Chat TV I think one big decider for me will be what is easier to work on for preventative maintenence. I don't like the idea of having to lift the cab off the chassis on the sport for some jobs.

    The crankshafts have been know to fail in low mileage vehicles even as low a 35,000 complete lottery as to when they will fail.

    • @hughmarcus1
      @hughmarcus1 9 месяцев назад

      It’s not actually a lottery. 2 things affect engine longevity. Forget the mfr advised 15k oil changes. Use a premium oil & change every 5K. Also it needs to be well warmed up before you accelerate hard to many owners jump in & floor it on a cold engine

      @lutfullahkarahanli 19 дней назад

      Yeah. Sound level for your voice is spot on maybe 5-10% increase could further improve it but not necessary. Background music level behind your voice is also perfect i would say. But the intro music where it plays pure music, thats killing some eardrums. At least for quality headphone users. I would probably lower it down 30-35% personally. On my pc i had to go as low as to +-30% from +-90% sound level. On mobile app, if i remember correctly, RUclips has sound enhancing to even the sound levels (might be a premium feature idk) so its not so big issue on that end i guess.

    The best thing to look for is a toyota . We own a 2014 range rover sport . Most unreliable vehicle we've ever owned ! Last year was off the road for 6 months with breakdowns . Heap of shat !

    I've got a 2007 v8 hse supercharged.. problems I've had. Transfer bearing, door latch failure x 2. DSC leaks, new pipes needed £1200. Heater core blocked, no heat. Front screen heated element only clears half the screen. Luckily, it's the passengers side. Coolant tank low coolant warning.. new tank needed as the built in float sunk.. shit design. The only good thing is the V8 marvellous engine, shame about the rest of the car.

      @@CarChatTV Firstly I gotta say I'm enjoying watching your content and I've just subscribed. Keep up the good work! I just really struggle with any JLR 4x4 product. They are just not fit for purpose and objectively lack the quality and reliability that is required for use outside of an urban area. I say this as a recovering Land Rover tragic who learned the hard way! Pick any Toyota wagon from the equivalent era and it will do what it says on the tin and do it reliably. I would also say it won't be quite as comfortable, or have quite the same on road manners but it will (almost always) get you there and more importantly back home again. I guess in summary I'd say if you can't afford to buy a any new RR, Defender or Discovery and flip it before the warranty ends you simply can't afford one. They are money pits and will just cause heartache. Looking forward to more of your content mate - just watched the GV80 review.
