Motley Crue definitely has a place in your music journey, I think. When you envision a rock star lifestyle, I believe they lived that life. Their first album, Too Fast For Love, is different from the rest. I happen to love it. They weren’t one of the absolute pretty boy, hair bands of the 80s and they weren’t one of the absolute bad ass metal bands, either. My favorite line from a Behind the Music was Vince Neil reminiscing about their 80s days and the time he said “just cause we wear lipstick doesn’t mean we can’t kick your ass” Love it! Actually, that might sum them up pretty well 😂

Motley Crue are like if 80s Guns N Roses was a Glam rock band. Heavily influenced by KISS, Van Halen, Aerosmith and glam and hard rock of the 70s. You should watch the netflix movie The Dirt. The Dramatised story of Motley Crue. They partied hard. I am sure others will tell you what this song is exactly about and you will understand more after watching the movie. It is not a documentary. I think it might have Machine Gun Kelly in it. Have not really listened to his music but good actor. Might know a song or two. Other good songs are Wildside, Shout at the Devil, Looks that Kill, Dr Feelgood, To Fast For Love. Girls, Girls, Girls, Same Ol Situation and Dont Go Away Mad. Dr Feelgood is their best song IMO. 80s Glam and Hair Metal was a different time. Cheesey to many but still good music.

Bro'! Great song, great band, great review. I am a tweener from the 80's scene. I didn't choose a side. I love both metal and hard rock from the 80's. I grew up on this music in California, in my teens and early twenties. I was literally there al most every weekend at 16 when i got my drivers license. until i went in the military at 20. We would travel 2 hours from the the military base in San Diego to L.A. weekly. In my teens it was a 3 hour drive from my house to the Sunset Strip in Hollywood on weekends. Up all night, no hotel, no food, gas money only and I got fed, stoned, drunk, and laid. We were an unorganized chaotic society running amok in Hollywood. People can talk shit all they want about the glam/hair/hard rock that came from this scene for over a decade. Here we are now two generations later, 40+ years, and the music dominates in movies, video games, commercials, reunion tours, spotify, pandora, amazon and all the other streamers. You're listening to it, my son listens to it, i still listen to it. Grunge, nu metal, rap'n metal and all the other crap music all lived short lifespans, and are dead. Hard Rock, Metal, and Thrash Metal still rule this planet. Van Halen was the first to make it big. Quiet Riot was the first to have a metal album chart at #1 overall on the Billboard list. Ratt, Quiet Riot & Motley Crue were the next big three. Then came Cinderella, Warrant, Poison followed by dozens of other copycat bands, but it was all good, fun, and transcends multiple generations now. Bands like Guns n Roses, L.A. Guns, Dangerous Toys, and Buckcherry; along with The Crue, Def Leppard, Ozzy, AC/DC, Dio, and about a dozen Thrash Metal bands survived and pulled us through the dark, boring, sad days of Grunge. Enjoy it Bro'! Thanks for your open-mindedness, effort an enthusiasm.

So I'm a 50 odd year old woman in Scotland, and Motley Crue were my band when I was a kid, I loooooooved them. Saw them live on a few occasions. Was in love with Nikki Sixx! Looking back, I now realise that had I ever met them, they would have made absolute mincemeat out of the shy wee kid I was, they were Very Bad Boys! They truly were filthy, their behaviour was appalling. A lot. But I was getting over them by the time this came out. I much, much prefer their earlier stuff, they peaked for me with the G, G, G album. Their earlier stuff was much rougher, punkier, probably grosser! Haven't seen the movie but I've read the book it was based on and I don't really need visuals to go with most of it :)

Love it !! Also, went up to Detroit and saw ELO . It was a great show. It was a bit different seeing the String section with a band but thats what they bring to the table. I would recommend it all day

This is one of the most often song I listen to last time! Actually, the name reflects the case with their guitarit being "kikstarted" with two doses od adrenalin directly in his heart by abulance guy, who was his fan. Dyde had some opiatic overdose, but was saved) Also, check take me to the top. One more, the band was a sort of metallica rival.

My first time hearing Motley Crue was on the bus going to school (7th grade), and one of the older kids had a boom box just blasting it! Too Young to Fall in Love was the song, and it was a banger! I was hooked!

Just start from the beginning with Motley. Vince's voice was SO badass back then. Suggestions from Too Fast For Love: Piece of Your Action, Too Fast For Love and Starry Eyes. Suggestions for Shout At The Devil: Shout At The Devil, Looks That Kill, Ten Seconds To Love, Red Hot. Honorable mentions... On With The Show, Come On and Dance, Too Young To Fall In Love.

At some point you need to take a trip to the 80’s Hair Metal, Glam Metal or whatever they like to call it that day and go down that rabbit hole lol! I was a teenager and I loved every second of it! You can go Motley Crue, Ratt, Queensryce, Quit Riot, Dokken, Skid Row, L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat and so many more. And just whoever on and just listen and enjoy what was put out during that time period. I’m not saying it’s the best music ever made, but it pulled me through my teen years and picked me up when I needed and brought me down when needed. It was an amazing time to be a teen with all the new music and bands coming out. So honestly take that trip one day and kick back and I think you’ll see what I’m talking about! Keep doing your thing bro because we are all enjoying the hell out of it! 🤘🤘🤘😎

As far as hair metal bands of the 80's. People paid good money to see them perform, it's cool that they dressed for the occasion and treated it like a special event. Instead of dressing like it's just another day like any other day.
