YT is censoring my reply to your reply. So I had to post a new comment. Thanks for the quick reply. I'm actually not Japanese, but I chat with a few of the hunters online. I'll convey your advice to them. Oh man, you gotta see their preferred method of dispatch when their in a cage or Duke trap. They walk around with industrial grade lithium ion booster packs the kind used to jump start cars that only weigh a few pounds. They connect cables to them and electrocute the raccoon.
Nice! I've never seen daytime hunting for coons. Everybody here in SC hunts them with dogs at night. You should try eating them. Not bad at all if you cook them right.
@@jamesdowis2346 I’ve only eaten it a few times and my cousin cooked it. He cooked it like a pot roast with taters, onions, and carrots. Not sure how he seasoned it or cook time. The main thing I remember him saying is that you have to clean them a certain way by removing a scent gland or they taste pretty bad.
Nice video! Would like to see more of these!
We will try to make that happen it’s such a fun hunt!
Fun hunt in the winter after the regular seasons are over. Thanks for sharing!
Yes it is! Thanks
I got the same call for Christmas I gotta try this out sometime
Tons of fun!
I love it; great job.
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
Hey brother, enjoyed your video, thanks for sharing, awesome, keep looking up, I also subscribed!
Appreciate that!
I wonder if a Bluetooth speaker and Coon distress call would work if I didn't have a Foxpro?
We have tried once before with no luck but I would imagine it is possible! Give it a try and let us know!
It works. I love my FOXPRO. However, a bluetooth speaker works great if you don't have one.
Fun video!! Keep em coming
We will do what we can raccoon hunting is one of our favorites!
I’m an avid hunter and outdoorsman. No judgment whatsoever. Just curious what y’all do with em?
Fair question! We take them all to a local buyer in the whole. He processes them for the fur trade. Market is pretty terrible this year.
@@TheBucketBoysIA hope there not for rain coats
U can also eat them but keep in mind at minimum its predator control
I eat one out of ten. It’s mainly predator control but also pelts.
@@outdoorsman8498 exactly. They HAVE to me managed either way at the end of the day.
It's good shots.
Lots of fun too!
What kind of guns are you using?
12 gage shotgun and .22 LR for longer shots
@@TheBucketBoysIA thanks, I should’ve watched the whole thing
No problem! Good luck if ya give it a try yourself
I’m curious what do you do with the raccoon are you keeping the hearts
We have a fur buyer we bring them to. Never have kept any hearts.
To get those coons out of water how about a type of big hook on a line
We’re sure that’d work. We were way far from home, so we’d recommend not letting them fall in water to begin with! 🤣
Just curious what are you doing with the coons?
We take them all to a local buyer in the whole. He processes them for the fur trade.
What brand name is the shotgun and rifle
The shotgun was a Winchester sx2 not sure the brand of .22
The .22 is a Marlin
What size shot and gauge r u using
12 gage with BB
Which foxpro do you have ?
The Spitfire. I believe the model has since been replaced with the Patriot.
.22 lr is not enough for Racoon. I habe too may bad experiences. Go for .22 WMR at least!
We’ll politely disagree. Our fur buyer appreciates minimal fur damage.
Sounds like your just a bad shot
What shells are you using for the shotgun?
Typically 3” BB. Want something with knockdown power.
I guess i can’t do this in the city huh? 😒
Guessing that wouldn’t fly, but if you can find a spot outside of city limits, we’d highly recommend trying it out!
@@TheBucketBoysIA believe me, I’m going to! Enjoyable! I effin hate those things!
You’re gonna be hooked. Let us know how ya do!
@@TheBucketBoysIA will do! 🎯
What sound are you using?
The “fight” and “distress” sounds. The distress has been more productive this year.
Yeah buddy! Guess what I'm gonna try soon!!
Do it! It is a blast! Let us know how you do.
I will! I'll probably film and put it on my channel!
How long do you let the call run before you'll see some raccoon's?
It can happen within seconds. But if we don’t see anything within 3-5 minutes we move on
Try air guns. Super quiet.
That would be fun!
great footage !!!! what are the names of the sounds you use ???
Thank you! Raccoon fight and distress are our most productive sounds.

Man that sounds intense!
Which Foxpro sounds seem to pull them in the best?
Our two favorites are “Raccoon Distress” or “Raccoon Fight”
Which foxpro
Believe it’s the Spitfire. The cheap one.
LIKE/SUBSCRIBED !!!!!!
We appreciate it!
Never saw the "how to".
Will this work any time of year?? I have a SEVERE raccoon infestation that needs dealt with!!!
Not sure but I would imagine because it’s a territorial response
You say how to in the title but don’t explain method at all
Watch from the 5:45 mark and you’ll get your how to. Thanks

It’s one of our favorite hunts! Fills in the time between our Iowa archery hunt sits.
Recipe?? I told my wife I was going to make a raccoon burger. I still haven't got around to it though

Roger that. Probably have to cut their fat out of the meat also.
Can we eat Raccoon?
Somebody plus comment
Certainly can. Meat Eater has several videos on preparation of them.
@@TheBucketBoysIA thanks for the info, much appreciated.
What time of year is it ?
