Yes, at 3:17 that is actually Berlin. I use a website called Videoblocks for stock footage. On Videoblocks, I went back and checked, and indeed that footage was marked as London. At 3:10 that apparently is a different Unknown Soldier and Eternal Flame And for the record, Paris is an awesome and amazing place. It's one of the most beautiful cities on the planet. I made mistakes. I'm a stupid American idiot.
I'm English and have never heard or read anybody ever call it Chunnel before. Also it sounds horrible to British ears, like slang for a woman's genitals.
I disagree... Yes, Paris is French but English is widely spoken there. London is very English and of course many other languages are spoken there but officially its English.
I mean culturally. I've been to many streets in Paris and you always feel like you're in France culturally, but some streets in London you don't recognise that you're in England. The street signs, shop signs, and people can be so different. But your last point is also interesting. English is only a "De Facto" language in the UK - because most people who live here speak English. The only legally official "De jure" language anywhere in the UK is Welsh in wales.
@@markmark63 Oh yes, 80% of Paris neighborhoods look the same with the same architecture and yes its very FRENCH.. But the La Defense district looks very high tech and look like any other city worldwide with modern high rise buildings. Just outside Paris city borders, it looks like any other suburb.. The buses in Paris look identical to USA buses.. The Old English look of London still exist but many areas are looking more modern everyday. If you're from the USA and have spent time in Boston, Philly, NYC, DC, Annapolis etc., and you go to London for the first time, you will feel at home because the architecture will be familiar to you. Paris on the other hand will be a shock to many because it is so different visually unless you've spent time in DC because DC was molded after Paris.. I've lived in both Paris and London and he is waaay off. And unemployment is London is higher than reported. Cost of living if you want to have less than 1h commute is higher. I live in zone 1 and I pay £2600, in Paris I lived in the 16th and paid €1600. Groceries are cheaper ( and crap) and so is beer, but good wine is impossible to find at a reasonable price. "France just surrendered" is very offensive as well. And after all the times I've walked into a tube covered in vomit, I'd take urine any day. And Paris isn't slow paced, the commute is much more efficient, people know how to move and in London there are loads of homeless but if you only hang in zone 1 you won't see it. As a Londoner, I can suggest you left out the most important point - that London and Paris are actually very similar, and we are close culturally. Paris is our sister city - we love, party, grieve and work hard in the same way. When Paris burns, Londoners cry too. During the terrorist attacks in Paris, all of London was in despair. I lived in London in the early 90's when it was grimy and full of litter. The IRA bombers were active so all the rubbish bins were removed so they couldn't hide a bomb or incendiary device in a bin. That meant there was litter everywhere. The tube was filthy due to spending cuts and the people were a bit down-trodden. We visited Paris and stayed in a poorer suburb in the northern part that was mostly home to people from north africa. It was safe and tidy and everywhere we went in Paris people were generally happy and seemed please to meet two New Zealanders trying hard to speak French. We went back in 2008 and both cities had changed dramatically. London was clean, there was no litter and folks seemed happy and positive. Paris was grungy and there were scammers everywhere.
I was thinking the same, a few decades ago Paris wins, but London has surpassed them in terms of financial power, cleanliness and friendliness. The funny thing is, most native English people would tell you that London it's a shit hole compared to the rest of the country.

As someone born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I would say Paris feels more at home. Similar attitude of locals, pace of life, architecture, and life style. But as someone who has grown up the other half of my life in New York, I would say London feels more like my present home. Much more cosmopolitan, fast pace, and economically important.
I think the streets and subways of London are equally as dirty as in Paris. You see beggars in both cities in the subway. Your video is biased. I thought Paris was more interesting than London to visit. But both are great cities.
@@Evan-xp9uh I've lived in both cities and I can tell you that a lot of things are not really factual. It's "let me take 1/3 of a fact and I will forget the other 2/3". Example: living in the city of Paris is freaking expensive as is in London. But if you live in the metropolitan area it becomes cheaper in France because the metro system is cheaper. Basically rent+transportation (which is at least what you need to pay each month) is cheaper in Paris than in London.
The beauty of Paris and London are the they are so close yet worlds apart culturally and that's what makes them both amazing. Here are some honest answers for both cities. Transportation: Tube vs Metro: Tube is cleaner yet older, but the Metro is faster, more efficient, cheaper and goes where you want to go. Food: Paris wins but London has really come up in the last 3 years or so. You can't beat French pastries and wine. People: London is so multi-cultural that it doesn't seem to have a strong British culture where as Paris is all about being French. You can find rude people anywhere in the world. Speaking just a few words of French goes a long way to your overall experience. Natural Beauty: Both are really flat areas. Architecture: Paris wins for its consistently brilliant style throughout the city. London has some gems as well and it's new skyscrapers are beautiful, but it's hard to beat walking around Montmarte or Marais.
"People: London is so multi-cultural that it doesn't seem to have a strong British culture where as Paris is all about being French. " As a London resident, I can say this is 100% true Unfortunately in several neighbourhoods in London the only thing left that is British is the buildings' architecture -- because everything else is just foreign people, foreign foods, shops and supermarkets catering to those immigrants... It's too much.
Jesus if the London tube is cleaner than the Metro, the metro must be a shitheap - haven't been on it since 1991 so I don't remember how it was. The London tube is positively dystopian, old, shabby, run down and filthy compared to the Amsterdam metro.

There are some mistakes in a video. So, randomly, some clarifications : - Paris has the equivalent of the Oyster Card, known as " Pass Navigo " - Paris has less " international " people because, London is an English speaking city - Paris hasn't been bombed partly because one of Hitler's officers thought Paris was too beautiful to be bombed
Paris doesn't have less "international" people, they just mostly live in the petite couronne/banlieue (Paris in all but name) rather than the city 'intra muros'. Londoners of all origins live all over the city, but the most diverse areas are in the inner city.
The French surrendered - plain simple fact of why Paris was left unscathed by bombs. The video was right in this respect. Both Cities have their merits but London has more of everything. Number 2 most visited as opposed to number 3 - close but clearly London is more popular. I’ve met lots of French people who can’t stand the Parisians but Londoners don’t really have that here in England. Overall a fair assessment to all but the blinkered and biased. I'm Parisian, I like London very much. I've been there three times. Some of your information is however false, for the dirtiness of Paris compared to London I totally agree, as far as prices are concerned it surprises me a lot that Paris is more expensive than London I think it's false. In any case, Paris and London are two very beautiful cities although they have different charms. The only downside of London and England as a whole is the food, which is why I won't be able to live there. Fortunately there are very good foreign restaurants (Chinese, Lebanese, Pakistani, Indian...).
The food is awful in London. Also a lot of pastries and sweet are put on the shelves without glass protection unlike Europe which is not hygienic. What I saw was london was windier. Eiffel Tower is by far superior to london eye artistically I would say. I would say london or England need to open its pocket and build a proper metro rather than those stupid double decker buses blocking the road and killing cyclists.
So London may be more visited than Paris in total, but if you exclude business travel and only consider tourism, Paris is the most visited city in the world! Being a resident, I understand why people can seem like jerks to tourists, because there are simply so many! Nearly every day, I would help some tourists in need of guidance; for people with full-time jobs that can get tiring, please be lenient towards Parisians!

@@noblechief4023 Paris is not the best of France by any means, it's just got the best publicity. Even if they don't have the same range of iconic landmarks as the capital, Toulouse, Strasbourg, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Lyon (to name a handful) are all nicer cities to visit, with friendlier locals and a more authentic atmosphere. But to really appreciate France, you need to get out of the cities altogether, as the 'soul' of the nation is in the countryside (largely because that's where food comes from!) One thing that doesn't change wherever you go in France: you will step in dog shit if you're not looking where you're going. However, ruthlessly clean countries are not always the most interesting to visit.
Cool video but as a French I have to explain some things^^ The legal border of Paris is really tight, this is why we included the urban area to compare the 2 cities otherwise Paris would be far behind for no reason. This problem also lies in the regions of all major French cities and if you count the urban areas I don't think London would still be 6th French city. Furthermore, for reknow monuments of Paris it would have been good to consider the urban area, with Disneyland and even more Versailles. Paris is not dirty, people feel like it is because of the comparison to other European cities but actually London is about the same and NYC is a total garbage then 😅 Public toilets are free in Paris, but there are just a few of them and often not properly working. We do not pay for the metro with coins haha. What is truly a shame is the lack of contactless payments, but we also use magnetic cards. London has more museums? Might be true I'm curious. But I'm not sure London was destroyed that much by Nazi Germany... And if Paris got spared don't think that the French people never experienced bombing. I say that because you insist on the surrendering thing. Oh and the multicultural aspect I think is truly biased and I wonder if you skipped the urban area figures. Immigrants arrived nonetheless decades ago in France (I mean the great waves of immigration) which means that their children are now becoming adults and are French soil born citizens, so they don't appear in charts, and also because it is forbidden in France to make charts on religion etc .. Paris is multiethnic^^ and as for universities, you forgot to mention that university is free in France, which in fact does change everything! And as non native English speaking schools, French colleges face the difficulty of being known worldwide
Paris was bombed, at least most of the military complex around the city. The french army declared Paris an open city because the french military command has moved the defensive line over the Loire. (Still it hasn't work because at this moment the german were outnumbering the french). Paris was occupied on 14th of June 1940, and the french government capitulate on 22 of June 1940. The army was still fighting over the Loire, but the government under Petain decide to negociate. The french government was really weak before WW2, too much corruption.

@Nemanja ĆIrić Dude, the rudeness is just a cultural matter. Why? Because in France people are more direct in their conversations, when something is bothering them, they will voice their problems. In London, people are diplomatic, trying not to offend anyone. So an English man not used to the honesty of a French will be shocked and will describe them as rude and a french man not used to the diplomacy in England will find English people excessively fake. But the sad aspect of everything? Judging different people based on personal cultural beliefs rather than trying to understand these differences.

If I may, I'd like to add some clarifications. I'm french, and I know I'm going to get bawled by persons who don't agree with me, english or not, but I'll try to be as objective as possible. I've been in London many times, at least 6 times, so I know a little bit about the city anyway, even if a Londoner knows it way better, and about Paris, some things you said are absolutely true, even negative things, like the fact that Paris is far from being the cleanest city in the world, but you also said lots of inaccurate things, which surprises me since your video is very recent. First, I will quickly move on that, Paris received bombs. Yes a part of Paris has been preserved because of the capitulation, and it's not a glorious part of our history, trust me on the fact that we're ashamed of it, but before that Paris received bombs, don't worry bout that. Also, concerning the traffic and the subway in Paris, comparing both cities (I repeat, I've never lived in London, but the many times I went, not only during the touristic periods, I found it was the case) the traffic is way more awful in London than in Paris, and no, in Paris, you don't have to pay the subway with cash, there is the exact equivalent of your oyster pass in the parisien subway. By the way, some subway lines in Paris are much cleaner than the one you showed (just write "Louvre Rivoli métro Paris" on google image and you'll see), and reciprocally, in London, some lines are much more dirty than the one in your video. It's however true there's many homeless people in Paris streets, which is very sad, and is mostly hurting in the rich neighborhoods, where the contrast is very strong. It's effectively not the case in London, with less homeless, but, concerning the many migrants we have in France, and the way you present it, I think it's important to remember that we (France) graciously accept to keep YOUR borders in OUR territory, which implies that all migrants (many would like to come to London) are stuck in France at an imaginary border at the starting point of this famous train that connects our two countries. With Brexit, this privilege should have disappeared, but it's still not the case. If this decision were to be made in the future, you could see these same migrants landing on your streets. There's a few others things that you didn't mentioned, which is not really fair for Paris, like saying that London has more museum than Paris, maybe true I don't know, but not specifying that Louvres is at least twice as famous as any London museum, or talking about Paris monuments, without quoting the Versaille Castle for exemple, which is not, it's true, directly in Paris, but since you talked about the suburbs many times, I think you could have include it. London is, no doubt, a multicultural city, but I'm ready to bet Paris is much more, you just can't see it if you base your analysis on the proportion of foreigners living in Paris, effectively many of the foreigners living in Paris have a french nationality, because their family came to France 2 or 3 generations before. I know, and it's normal, because of the attachment to your place of life, that you necessarily present your comparison by favoring slightly London, but I think that London is superior in Paris on enough points, like its influence on the world scale or its economic superiority, not to devalue Paris more than it deserves, and to grant it the qualities she possesses, without adding defaults to those she already has. But apart from these points a little subjective and lacking information, good video showing advantages and disadvantages of these two cities. P.S. : By the way, it's a little paradoxal te pretend that toilets in Paris aren't free, when you show a photo where it's literally written the exact opposite, "free access" (in french, "accès gratuit"), just above the toilets... if your wife tell you that kind of things, you must either listen better to what she say, in the case it was an incomprehension between you, or consider the idea of changing your sources.
You said, "effectively many of the foreigners living in Paris have a french nationality, because their family came to France 2 or 3 generations before."If it is the case that they're fourth generation French citizens, why do you call them foreigners? Should they all win the World Cup for you, before you insist on them being French? It must be true what they say about you.
British museum contains the most important artifacts in the world. Sorry, but Paris doesn't have anything like the Rosetta Stone for example, so I completely disagree with your point about french museums being more famous. I've been to many museums in France, not just in Paris and museums in Britain are just in the different category, far more interesting than anywhere else.
uHadi Benga Well, what do they say about me/us ? For me, it’s just a stupid way of thinking the way you do, locking yourself in this « politicaly correct » which says that « YOU MUST NOT CALL THEM FOREIGNERS IF THEY HAVE YOU NATIONALITY » because if you do, you’ll be called racist, it’s strictly stupid. I’m not necessarely racist just because I say that, and by the way, saying that dosn’t mean I have any antipathy for them, I would say it for any nationality, here, in my precedent text, calling them foreigners was just a practical way to illustrate my words about the foreign population in England, explaining that there was no similar wave of immigration on your side of the sea. Tackling a false racist phrase is not only wrong, but it also shows the way you have to deflect the debate, probably because you do not have enough to answer the main topic, so it's much easier to try to make me wrong by pretending I’m a racist, rather than trying to really contradict what I say in a valid way. Once again, excuse my english if it is imperfect.
Side note for context: this gentleman has Jean Marie Le Pen, Marine Le Pen's dad as his profile picture (Google this family if you don't know about them, LOL)... so take whatever discourse he has on immigrants with a (rather generous) pinch of salt xD. Mais @Arthur bien vu pour les chiottes ;)
Moments of bias towards London in the video are here. Please drop a like this took me a long time. (1:29) Paris is actually the 2nd most visited city in the world, not London. (1:36) What makes you think London has less traffic issues? Have you been to both and compared? 🧐 (1:44) If you do a bit of research, you’ll find that London is actually more expensive. (1:58) That was a pretty useless and biased comment in my opinion. (2:12) By putting “arguably” you are saying that it is an opinion of yours and that it is not factual in any way. (3:03) At least give it a shot in these pronunciations... shake my head. 🤦♂️ (3:10) That image is not from the Arc de Triomphe. Do your research. (3:16) Give us a statistic with a number if you are going to say London has “more” of something. Also, that image is Berlin. (3:56) This feels like an insult. Yes, French people may be bad at English, but don’t make such accusations! You’d be surprised how bad people in the UK speak French. I’ve been there, so I can judge! (8:21) You were doing pretty well in the history part... but how can you assume this statement? I can clearly tell you have never been to Paris! (8:34) What makes you think this? Yes, it’s difficult to find parking, but on what basis did you come to this conclusion? (8:40) How do you know it’s much cleaner? (8:45) Navigo card: am I a joke to you? (9:12) How do you define a slow-paced City exactly? 👀 (9:26) I’ve found the source: you are listening to your wife’s experience. The thing is, your wife isn’t everybody on the planet. (9:38) I’ve been to both and I confirm this is not true at all. You got this from your wife. (9:46) Honestly this is biased if you haven’t been to both. I literally didn’t see a difference. Ever. (9:57) Even North Korea doesn’t do a better job than you at conveying the wrong image of a city/country. (10:13) What the heck is this fact! 😂 I have a feeling maybe in front of the Eiffel Tower but not the metro! (10:20) When you are so biased to London you just have to include this phrase in the video. Just wow! (10:32) There is no difference in terms of scamming in London and Paris. This is just plain bias from wifey. (10:36) Restrooms are actually free in Paris. Google it. (10:42) It is so plain and obvious you took this from one single experience: the one of your wife. This has never happened to me in either London or Paris. (11:43) 2008! Haha that was so long ago and I can tell your video is outdated in many aspects too! 😆
Both cities host Grand Slam venues in tennis. Paris has Roland Garros, the biggest tournament played on clay courts, while London has Wimbledon, the largest on grass courts.
Moscow vs Istanbul Liverpool vs Manchester Shanghai vs Beijing Glasgow vs Edinburgh Rome vs Baghdad Leeds vs Sheffield New Delhi vs Mumbai Prague vs Budapest vs Vienna And Dublin vs Belfast I mean, it’s pretty obvious that you won’t be doing all of these...if any, but I just thought I’d give a few suggestions too lol
I love both cities, but Paris is my favorite city in the world (that I've visited so far). I've been there a dozen or so times, and I've never experienced the famed rudeness. Friends I was studying with (not in Paris) did, though, even though they spoke French to the Parisians rather than accosting their ears with English right off the bat. I did notice a difference between the Parisians and the other French folks, though, and that the French love to hate on Paris and its residents. Dusseldorf vs. Cologne would be an interesting comparison since they're such rivals. Also Amsterdam vs. Copenhagen, since they seem to be culturally very similar.
Parisian rudeness is really basicly the same as any metropolis. Talk to a Manhattanite in private & ask their true opinions about their "bridge & tunnel" people.
I’m from Portugal and I’ve been in the two cities, and the truth is, they are two beautiful, historical and modern cities, but I wouldn’t live in any of them😂😂
Paris didn't loose its monuments because it surrendered. The french fought hard. But instead the last commander of Paris Dietrich von Choltitz didn't execute Hitler's order of total destruction in the event Pairs would fall. Von Choltitz was called later the "Savior of Paris" If he didn't want to or if he didn't have the means to do it is left to historians.
Hermann Goering and Werner von Braun did try to execute Hitler's order of total destruction of London, to the extent that 2 million houses were destroyed.
I'm glad you said this. All during WWII, many French fought valiantly. They did brave things like rescue and protect allied airmen and soldiers at their own peril. London would have likely been in the same boat had it been part of the mainland.
Declassified french and german archives reveals that Hitler indeed ordered Paris to be bombed but Paris was saved because Choltitz thought there was not enough time and resources mainly linked to the rapid approach of the allied troops. It was not because he thought the city was too beautiful or for humanitarian reason. He was maybe the ''savior of paris'' but if the nazis were to be a bit more lucky at the time, the city's landmarks would be gone by now.

@@ghost7ii692 oh, hello. question : have you ever visited Paris ? and when you say "shithole" you mean it's a bad city with bad people, with a bad smell, etc ?
Having lived in London and also visited family in Paris many times I can say Paris is definitely better but maybe it’s just that it’s new to me so it’s more exciting
I lived in both, so I can say London, cause Paris is nice from tourist perspective, but transport, fake parisians, crime rates and public offices are terrible. The real parisians went out many years ago from Paris and they are all disgusted how the city became. But yes, it is charming city with a lot of history and things to do. Like london.
I visited London back in 2017 and stayed for a week. I LOVED it. I've got to go back there and spend even more time. I think you are more blessed than you know.
I just love Paris, for me the most beautiful city in the world!! It has a kind of magic and enchantment that London will never have!!! Anyway both citiesasre pretty cool but I rather prefrer Paris!!
@@elliot7753 If you have to do a video about a country, then try at least to learn how to pronounce them decently. That's the least thing you could do, even to be acknowledged as trustworthy
You clearly are biased, I love both cities, but you could have been more accurate. Just one example out of the many I could have picked : you mention London hosting the Olympics three time, and Paris Twice, but you forget to say that Paris will host it in 2024... The number of museums doesn't really matter, but rather their size or their importance (the Louvre is both the biggest museum in the world, and the most visited). Tourist in Paris spend twice as more than in London on average. Paris isn't "clean" by any means, but so isn't London, and Paris is going through a lot of constructions and renovation, in order for the city to be ready for the 2024 Olympics, just like London did before 2012, and that made the city much cleaner afterwards so... And Parisians aren't rude, that's just cliché : just like any part of the world where people don't speak English as their native language, they will try to help you as long as you're patient and will be really benevolent if you try to go their way by speaking some french...
Paris was amazing. Now it's a shithole. I first visited paris in 2005, i was 15 and fell in love with the city. Been visiting 4 to 5 times a year since then but lately in the last 3 to 4 years it changed dramatically. Paris in not Paris any more.

I prefer Paris to London. I never would wanna life in London but would love to improve my french in Paris. I also like the french language and culture more then the english one. But I just hope they try to "make Paris clean again".
There is some mistakes in that video! - Trafic in London is way worse than in Paris (they don’t have freeways in London and it is so bad londoners have to pay a toll to drive in the city) -Cost of living is way higher in London than in Paris (just check the prices of a rent in both cities, a restaurant, a subway ticket...) -Finding a parking spot in Paris is actually easier than in London, and cheaper Otherwise, great and accurate video!
I maybe living near London but I have been to Paris a couple of times. I have experienced traffic in Paris and it is no near in London. Maybe yours might be different but I have seen one of the worst traffics in Europe when I visited Paris. I could almost could compare it to Metro Manila traffic.
Shenkapooola Vlogs well it can be impressive seeing all the cars and the moped everywhere, but this is just downtown Paris, in the rest of the Paris area it is normal trafic! But globally you can get anywhere you want in the city pretty fast, while in London, I can remember spending 2h stuck in the city trying to get from the airport to downtown
Connor well if you’re coming from the south of France it can take you 5h30 but otherwise you would never spend that much time in the Paris trafic! I drive in the city every day and in rush hour, it rarely take me more than twice the normal time
You can estimate how much the host of this channel knows about Paris by the fact it is misplaced on the map he shows in the vid. In most neighborhoods Paris is a way more relaxing and peaceful city to live in than London (even on Staturdays when the gillets jaunes are out). It also is way cheaper and slower-paced. If you want to live la vie en rose, it is easier in Paris.
Don't forget, Paris is far more boring than London.. London is just a much faster and diverse city. Yes, I would agree that overall Paris is cheaper to live in and it is a very beautiful city in most districts...

I've spent a lot of time in both, and have to say that Paris is a lot more French than London is English.

Thanks for sharing that. Are you back in New Zealand now?
I've lived in London since 1981 but also visited Paris regularly. What you say is a very accurate summary.

To me, both subways were equally much cleaner than here in NYC. The streets, I agree with you are the same.

He wouldn't make this stuff up. He literally said research at the end
Don't forget about the 24,000,000 rats in Paris metro
@Queen_PLATINE! and how long has it been oh and that's metro Paris not just city proper
@Queen_PLATINE! there is about 2 rats per person it's on Google
As a London resident, I can say this is 100% true
Unfortunately in several neighbourhoods in London the only thing left that is British is the buildings' architecture -- because everything else is just foreign people, foreign foods, shops and supermarkets catering to those immigrants... It's too much.
@@MVUK358 Who gives a fuck your damn queen is a fucking german british culture my ass.
Jesus if the London tube is cleaner than the Metro, the metro must be a shitheap - haven't been on it since 1991 so I don't remember how it was. The London tube is positively dystopian, old, shabby, run down and filthy compared to the Amsterdam metro.

The Bitch Has Arrived I’ve already done some of those things. I love London probably more than I love Paris I was just giving the guy who made the video advice. He’s clearly biased and that’s alright as long as you make it clear from the beginning
Agreed. He should have named it "reasons I like London more than Paris."
There are some mistakes in a video. So, randomly, some clarifications :
- Paris has the equivalent of the Oyster Card, known as " Pass Navigo "
- Paris has less " international " people because, London is an English speaking city
- Paris hasn't been bombed partly because one of Hitler's officers thought Paris was too beautiful to be bombed
That last fact is beyond innaccurate its just pathetic
And the 3rd point is the reason about why is Paris more beautiful.
I do like Disneyland though but it’s not a patch on Orlando.
@@rontomlin6514 There was actually an order from Hitler to burn Paris to the ground rather than let it be recaptured by the Allies in 1945, but German General Von Choltitz realised that plan was both strategic insanity and just plain evil, so he disobeyed the "Führer" and ordered his troops to surrender.

And don't worry for the Olympic games, just wait 4 years and a half.
And... oh well no matter. Some parts were informative anyway, especially regarding the past. Though honestly during the first phase of WW1, france saved Paris mostly alone: at the time during the war, in total 1,500,000 french soldiers and 100,000 british soldiers were fighting the Germans, it's ridiculous to place both armies at the same level.

But to really appreciate France, you need to get out of the cities altogether, as the 'soul' of the nation is in the countryside (largely because that's where food comes from!) Cool video but as a French I have to explain some things^^
The legal border of Paris is really tight, this is why we included the urban area to compare the 2 cities otherwise Paris would be far behind for no reason. This problem also lies in the regions of all major French cities and if you count the urban areas I don't think London would still be 6th French city. Furthermore, for reknow monuments of Paris it would have been good to consider the urban area, with Disneyland and even more Versailles.
Paris is not dirty, people feel like it is because of the comparison to other European cities but actually London is about the same and NYC is a total garbage then 😅
Public toilets are free in Paris, but there are just a few of them and often not properly working.

This was a very nice comPARISon...
I’ll show myself to the door now
If I may, I'd like to add some clarifications.
I knew I would have that kind of reaction 😂
uHadi Benga Well, what do they say about me/us ?
(1:44) If you do a bit of research, you’ll find that London is actually more expensive.
(1:58) That was a pretty useless and biased comment in my opinion.
(2:12) By putting “arguably” you are saying that it is an opinion of yours and that it is not factual in any way.
(3:03) At least give it a shot in these pronunciations... shake my head. 🤦♂️
(3:10) That image is not from the Arc de Triomphe.
(9:26) I’ve found the source: you are listening to your wife’s experience.
C'est juste un gros rageux laisse tomber
All these points are fair enough apart from the one about 3:56, I see that as a point to the French for being fluent in both languages
@@kd4n347 true... glass half full...
Both cities host Grand Slam venues in tennis. Paris has Roland Garros, the biggest tournament played on clay courts, while London has Wimbledon, the largest on grass courts.
I think you work for the London tourist office, man ;)))
Moscow vs Istanbul
Liverpool vs Manchester
Shanghai vs Beijing
Glasgow vs Edinburgh
Rome vs Baghdad
Leeds vs Sheffield
New Delhi vs Mumbai
Prague vs Budapest vs Vienna
And Dublin vs Belfast
I mean, it’s pretty obvious that you won’t be doing all of these...if any, but I just thought I’d give a few suggestions too lol
You never know! If only I had more time. Thanks for the great list of suggestions.
What about Bristol vs. Cardiff?
Dea Kasparov also do San Francisco vs Santa Fe.
Manchester’s definitely better.
Dea Kasparov why Roma VS Bagdad? Who would live in Irak and not in Italy
Haha thats true. The best part is that they know that and often hate on themselves haha.
Just watch french comedy scetches(if u can understand them) and u will see how often they joke about all this things
Parisian rudeness is really basicly the same as any metropolis. Talk to a Manhattanite in private & ask their true opinions about their "bridge & tunnel" people.
However, when I take the metro, I've noticed a lot of people barging their way on without letting me get off first. That happens less often in London.
Von Choltitz was called later the "Savior of Paris"
If he didn't want to or if he didn't have the means to do it is left to historians.
French message : we love visiting London, we like tradition and originality, humor, gentle and flegmatic behaviours... The problem is rain, food and prices of hotels, if any.
I love the way you articulate.
Paris gets more rain than London in inches and in days.
@@Genevasplaytime
If so, I suppose that it rains in London only between 8 am and 12 pm, which also explains that Londoners always have an umbrella with them, including in the summer.
Oh please for the love of Christ call it the bleeding channel tunnel not a chunnel, that name hurts me internally as a British citizen.
Chunnel is catchy though :(
Unrelated note but I understood everything you said and now I’m really happy

Having lived in London and also visited family in Paris many times I can say Paris is definitely better but maybe it’s just that it’s new to me so it’s more exciting
i live in paris, this city is hell lol
Born and raised in Paris and I have the opposite opinion. So maybe our views as tourist is biased :)

I live in California and I find London to be incredible. In fact, I would love to live there.
Mate you got the location of Paris on the map wrong wtf No doubt this video is biased ahah, try to be neutral next time
Ehh, it’s only about 25km off of the actual location, give the guy a break. He is American after all and the fact he even had a rough idea is amazing
I just love Paris, for me the most beautiful city in the world!! It has a kind of magic and enchantment that London will never have!!! Anyway both citiesasre pretty cool but I rather prefrer Paris!!
tbh the uk in general is just an unpleasant country for the eye. all the buildings are ugly and dont get me started on the weather.

your french pronunciation is embarrassing, and I'm Italian
Italian can say hard to pronounce French and Romanian words .
@@mohdadeeb1829 no, maybe it's difficult for us to say the french "R"

Honestly sounds to me like you are biased and not him
Connor you had a hard time in Paris ? Wanna talk about it ?
they havent hosted it ,it still to times ,so it doesnt count simple
im a londoner and were just as rude to tourists - annoying slow walkers
Paris was amazing. Now it's a shithole. I first visited paris in 2005, i was 15 and fell in love with the city. Been visiting 4 to 5 times a year since then but lately in the last 3 to 4 years it changed dramatically. Paris in not Paris any more.
This video is so biased. I’ve been to both cities as well, and by no means is this true.

There is some mistakes in that video!
- Trafic in London is way worse than in Paris (they don’t have freeways in London and it is so bad londoners have to pay a toll to drive in the city)
-Cost of living is way higher in London than in Paris (just check the prices of a rent in both cities, a restaurant, a subway ticket...)
-Finding a parking spot in Paris is actually easier than in London, and cheaper
Otherwise, great and accurate video!
@@Ben-dh1kt It took 5.5hours one time for me to get to my hotel, driving in the city
Paris*

The culture is WAAAY stronger and richer in Paris than in London. Food, art, and activities are by far better in Paris than London.
Nonsense. Eating a snail isn’t a substitute for a personality
