Theres not enough drivers that actually show up to have a seeding bracket, No point in having a whole bracket just to knock 4 people out.
i'm sure they'll rework it for next season so that maybe they can get prospec drivers a chance at the seeding bracket. but it's not something they can change mid season.
@@sirmonkey1985 of course they can, even the formula 1 changed a couple of years ago their qualifying method mid season so why can't formula d do the same?

Common, you dont prefer to watching all driver show their skills than this carnage?
Qualify is the best way to show off how you can handle the track and the car, after that, judges can compare with each qualifying if the lead doing the same job or not and noted that but its to much work for thoose biased gentlemen...
I got a different view of it. It makes the first night a throw away night where the in person fans shouldn’t go and the guys that honestly shouldn’t be in FD get knocked out. I feel for anyone watching this live or in person.
I liked the seeding bracket at first but I think I like qualifying better.
That's upto you... But I'd rather have a all-comp format than a boooring qualy stream.
I am also missing the qualifying less messed up cars and honestly just as entertaining cause who knows how long we were waiting for crashes cleaned up
They should be flexible make it a qualifying when half the cars show up instead of seeding bracket

Iike, I'd say this track is clearly lacking visual markers for outer zone 2.
They should do something about that.
i think there should be 1st vs 32,nd 2nd vs 32st and so on... from last round going against each other, and the order in which they stand after those "qualifying battles" should determine who they go against in the actual main event, that would create the maximum amount of battles at least

this was painful to watch. I liked seeding for more battles, but this feels like you get stuck in seeding and you never make it out.
Hate to complain but this seeding bracket is trash. Way too many bye runs as well. Qualifying was a lot more enjoyable watching everyone chase that 100pt run.

Love formula drift but damn, this was really rough to watch. Hardly entertaining, seeding bracket is lame when nobody shows, plus taking so long on crashes. Need more drivers too
Hopefully not a precursor to how the rest of the event goes. Was it the amount of dust that ended up on the track that gave the drivers so much trouble?

so between runs when FD staff pull off front bumpers that a comp time out?
FD staff can remove body panels or tape/zip tie them to the car but they cannot do anything mechanical with the car IIRC

This was horrible and these 2 announcers made it even worse. There was more ad time, than track time. FD can barely get a full 32 car field to show up. That's bad, really bad
Yep, i just straight up skipped to only see Ben Hopson's runs. First i liked this idea of seeding bracket, but now it just seems like a boring idea to me and id rather watch +90 qualifying runs with risks :D

Well, there's a reason they are in this seeding bracket. It's amateur hour out there. Pleased to see the drift wizard do well, and hobson move on. I see that even in seeding that the verbal vomit guy still showed up to shoot word salad everywhere.

I’d love to hear another perspective on this. Why do they allow “half seasons” and “choice rounds”, i love seeing Vaughn and Adam whenever, but they are clearly able to compete and beat anyone. Championship wise it doesn’t make sense to let any driver come in whenever they want to compete for a championship that they can’t even win, I see it as a hindering to other’s ability to win the championships, and also hindering possible new drivers.
I think this is a bad take. Not everyone has the budget to compete every single round. Also a lot of people have to compete even when they don’t want to to make there sponsors happy. Now I’d say it would be different if FD had actual payouts instead of the lame fucking payouts that don’t even pay for half an engine. This is more like an expensive hobby than anything else. I think if the payouts were able to be more serious maybe mfs would be able to commit more🤷♂️
Its not any different than a driver only running half the rounds bcuz the car was down for half the rounds. Making it tougher for someone to win the championship is not bad either

This problem is not entirely uncommon in motorsports. I help a bike team at the drag strip, and we run for points. The bike class consists of people running to make it to nationals, and those who arnt even registered and show up whenever they want. This means the unregistered people can ruin someone's points for the day in round 1 like Formula D. While it sucks to be knocked out by them, its also nice to see your competitor potentially knocked out and your lead get greater. Why they actually allow it, is likely because of two things. Increase number of bikes/cars, and entry fee money.
They’re called “wildcards” it’s just to throw a curve ball into the competition and also make the event interesting for people that want to come watch that specific driver, nothing wrong with it.
This track sucks… the same shite last year with people flying off track… 💩💩💩

Yeah this seeding bracket is garbage. A lot of these guys could use another year in pro spec. There should be some penalty for having a poor year.
Wow, this was waaay too disturbing. A normal drifting fan, really can't watch this low amateur bullshit. Most of the guys couldn't even complete the track alone! You call this the best? So glad that I didn't loose the time on livestream, but I just watched it in 16 min on fwd. It is for sure now that FD will not continue this bullshit next year too, otherwise they can close the shop. It is deeply not fair, it is distressful and lame with all the guys like Kearney, Gittin and Wang never showing.
How was it hobsons fault the staff touched his car?
The RTR team is who touched the car. It would be different if it was FD staff, but unfortunately the team cannot touch the car unless they want to start their timer.
@@chrismohammed1762 In a friendly way... You are correct but also wrong.... originally the RTR Staff touched the car before the burn out box to set airpressures (1:20:00 within the stream) ... this used up the 5 minute timer....then in the Seeding final when Ben's car stopped, it was FD Staff who turned the nitrous off and on at the passenger side of the car (2:05:10 within the stream, 45 seconds later you can hear them confirm it was FD Staff member) to help Ben get the car started.... so as a result the FD staff caused Ben to not be able to run the 2nd half of the Final because of the way the rules work (Car cannot be touched/worked on between 1st and 2nd half without the 5 minute call, in effect the FD staff helping counted as the car being touched/worked on), so his 2nd half run was DQ'd.
I would say that if ben was able to remove his harness and do it himself within the car, he would have been able to run the 2nd half of the final.

Bringing back qualify guys this format is horrible to watch, i lost the hype of watching FD...
FD you tried something new and it didnt work go back to qualifying. Allow the drivers to show their individual styles during qualifying. Practice was more exciting then this. I've complained about seeding from the start, its a shitshow.

@@reecechristian6185 I think its because its so huge and fast. You basically have to nail everything with little room for error. A tighter more technical track actually gives you more room for error because of the slower speeds and its more interesting to watch. I dont know why FD insists on this super fast, 1000+ HP, boring tracks.
Yeah, few of the recent weekends just prove how bad the seeding bracket is right now. If they want to keep it without the quali solo runs, they need to re-work the seeding runs system...
