Great advice. When the blues are running, jetties are great fun. I catch snappers like this with metal spoons and set the kids up with bobbers and bait. It almost gets boring they hit so frequently. I catch them right off the dock. I’ve caught some bigger ones near Paddy’s Hole with the same trick. Casting on the north side of a marsh berm on a rising tide
I think people overlook Paddy's Hole for species outside of flounder. It's a nice weakfish area as well. And, there's nothing better for kids than casting for snappers!
That's awesome. Depends on tides and winds though. But, there's almost always a decent spot to target regardless of conditions. (assuming waves aren't breaking over the rocks on top of you)
Fat Dad Fishing oh that last part is the truth. I was there today with 5-6 foot waves crashing over the rocks after the edge of the hurricane brushed by and it was terrifying and I only ended up with one blue
Creek Critter Fishing usually hurricanes drive all the fish away. Like 2 years ago while I was in The outer banks the fishing was nice, once a hurricane was a couple miles of shore the water was noticeable colder and the fishing sucked
@@FatDadFishing I appreciate the return sub. We all have to help support each other on here if we want to make it! I will watch for your other videos. I try hard to watch quite a few every night while at work.
Hey rich, I have watched this video a few times now and I have fished that jetty dozens of times and only got into good bluefish bites twice. All tides, seasons and times of day. What else do you go off of to predict a good day at a spot? Winds? What’s a good wind and why. Thanks
I really go by currents and where I think there will be solid ambush spots setting up at any given time. If I can find current breaks close to great structure that promises to be a good day. All of that comes from a combination of tide, wind, and structure.
Great place to buy a house! Excellent fishing in that area. In this video I believe I was mostly using a custom rod with a Penn reel. I'm currently using a 9'0 Tica Surf Dolphin (.75-3 oz lure) with a Diawa BG. It's about a $250 set-up including 30lb braid.
Hi Rich, Great information. It looks like you're using a white bucktail. Are you using a trailer ? ( Gulp ? ) If you go back to Corson's Inlet, try the north point, ( OC side ) just inside the sand bar. The water is 20 ft. deep between the points but rises quickly near the beach. There is a sand bar just inside and makes an ambush area. The current can flow fast and it takes a few ounces to get down. Do you fish OC and Avalon often ? I live in Winslow and fish OC about once a week. Good luck, Mickey
When blues are hitting I typically use a naked bucktail to save my plastics. No teaser either. I fish all up and down the NJ coast so Corsons is always a possibility. Will try that spot you mentioned. I typically get out once per week
Hi Rich, Your video on "Fishing Bridges" was just posted on "Salt Strong's" channel. Are you working with them now? I know John Skinner, up on Long Island, is working with them and has fishing courses online through Salt Strong. Thanks, Mickey
100% correct. A great example is the striper run. The migration can make just about all of this into a wildcard. However non migrating fish will tend to follow these patterns.
Thank you for watching this video. Please like, subscribe and share!

I actually fished that jetty and the spots you pointed out were the hotspots

Thank you. I plan to make many more!
Nice! you got this jetty fishing stuff figured out!
Just when I think I have it figured out I learn something new. But I spend a lot of time on the rocks so that helps. Thanks for stopping by!
Insanely informative. Grabbing a bag of chips and gettin ready to binge watch. Great job. Keep them coming. Let me know if I can help in any way.
Maybe we should do a topwater striper video together this fall?
Lots of nice tips as I wanna get more into saltwater fishing, have only been saltwater fishing once and I loved it lol

Hi Mickey. I am an Insider member of Salt Strong but I do not work for them. I am trying to bring more people from the northeast to the club.
Hi Rich, That sounds good. Thanks, Mickey
keep in mind none of this works if there are no fish.................

Subscribe to you as well.
WTH are you talking about? There are fish along every inch of that jetty.
Then fish every inch of that jetty without thought and see how you do. Tight lines.
Just what we need, another spot burn in New Jersey. Some guys will never get it
Very entertaining you would call out a spot burn from one of the most well known structures in the state, from over 6 months ago.
