He knew Lennon was literally throwing up from nerves because he'd never performed in front of such an audience without the Beatles nor even with them for two or three years and had put this band together at the very last minute. That took a certain kind of courage regardless of the musical quality that resulted from it. All a bit academic for me as Little Richard plays them all off the stage imho.
lennon was 29 here, imagine...already the most established rock god of his generation
I was thinking he was 28....he would have been 29 in October. Was this September in '69?
Looks 40…Drugs will do that to ya…
@@cameraman655 congrats, biggest boneheaded comment on this video.
@@MrOsaka24 Perhaps, but true…Narcotics, Tobacco, and Liquor all quicken the aging process….fact!
@@cameraman655 I’m not debating that fact. In fact, it’s such a common fact that it isn’t necessary to even point out. It’s a fact!
I was there, sitting on cement steps at the very back of the arena.
Hallucinant !
No matter what you say, this is art! Good or bad thats your thing
Paul and John def didn’t audition the ‘girls’….😂😂😂😂
The biggest John Lennon's mistake was not meeting Yoko Ono, the biggest John Lennon's mistake was giving a microphone to Yoko Ono
Circular saw sounds better 😂
He was so liked he could afford to give Yoko a mic. There was nobody bigger than Lennon.
Whats with the Yoko hate? What are you trying to say? Have you watched the Get Back doc???
🌹
A legendary jam session with Lennon/Clapton and a open nerv on stage. HOW COULD HE GOT MAR... TO her.?????
Don't mock what you all created!!!
No, wrong, God created it/her......are you mocking God????!
Bo Diddley's guitar....sweet ride,
I believe that's Klaus Voorman on bass, who designed the Revolver album cover. Alan White on drums, who later joined Yes when Bruford left. Of course Ol' Slow Hand on the Les Paul!
To think John was worried about sounding unrehearsed..
Chuck Berry.. Hold my beer!!
Maybe not Chuck Berry
Tbf all Chuck really needed was a tuner. Sounded awful. I'd rather listen to the Yoko segment again than see that pitiful display again. At least Eric and John's instruments are in tune.
He left the Beatles for this? Rock and roll was at his heart, but heroin for sure didn't do him any favors. And Yoko Ono replacing Paul McCartney at the side of Lennon has got to be one of the most sad and unfortunate transitions to ever befall rock music.
i'd need a hit of H to sit thru long & winding road again & again. at least yoko was breaking new ground. macca was sounding like he was in his 70s before he was 30
@@edshellard145I’m sure Yoko’s amazing talent would have brought her success even without riding on John’s coat tails………………………….(just kidding)
on the album, durring the r&r songs and "yer blues" you can't hear yoko's screeching and screaming. thank god.
All in All, I'd say that wasn't the greatest night of singing these people had ever heard.
She is an icon to all howling dogs.
You mean cats😂😂😂😂
I read Eric's book and he said that when they landed on Toronto, John and Yoko hopped in a limo and took off for the hotel leaving Eric and the band sitting there at the airport. Eric felt disrespected by that and i could understand.
Toronto is the best city in North America.... period 🇨🇦
Sir lay off the crack
John Lennon tava branco de tanta loucura. Tá a cara do Antônio Concelheiro.
