My longest ever country streak on Geoguessr..

- I didn't do bad last week with a streak of 13, but I knew that with my new found practice I could do better. Today I was fired up to beat my record and maybe even hit 20.
*6 minutes into the video my voice goes robotic and it's just too unlistenable, so for a 10 minute period I commentate over the top of the video to explain what my thought process was at the time.

Imagine if future Tom would go robotic too and then it just kept going like that and we would get a bunch of Toms in all corners. I want to see that. I need to see that. We all need that.

@@sawamichelle Eucalyptus makes Australia fairly easy to identify, they're the dominant genus on the whole continent and nowhere else.
@@AppreciateBacon eucalyptus also grows in the USA, there are forests of them in california. But then you'd have the yellow center lines and the driving on the right, so it's still identifiable.

There are only two countries in which the Google vehicle needed a snorkel and that's Kenya and Mongolia. Not only are their environments VERY different, but the Kenyan car is tan while the Mongolian vehicle was a white truck with camping equipment sticking out on top.

All the islands together are called the Carribean Netherlands. The more you know ;)

@@SomePeopleCallMe i think he specified "French Canadians", so I'll simplify by taking the population of Québec province (the actual French population may be lower due to Anglos in the province, it's kinda averaged out by the Francophones living outside..)
anyway Drummondville has about 68k people and there's like 8.58 million people, so ~0.7% of the population lives in Drummondville.
Curaçao is also pronounced kurasao, not kurakao

A little tip from an Indonesian (idk if you'd read this but)
On the Malaysian round, you can see a stop sign, which in Indonesia as long as i have lived i have never seen a stop sign.
On the electrical panel when you see the "Bahaya" word, there is no logo of the only Indonesian power company called PLN, usually in every electrical box/panel or whatever, there's a logo or at least the letter PLN.
Also, the license plate on Malaysian cars have a bolder font than the one you can find in Indonesia.

17:54 My jaw dropped when I saw that water tower, I'm from 45 mins north of there, Virginia is the largest city in the area. It was the "Queen City" of the Iron Range. The tower has actually been repainted now. There are towns I'm prouder of, it's an amazing area, but it's super cool to see something like that on your channel. Cheers from Almost Canada! I hope to visit Cornwall someday, my family is from there.

I think I dedicated tips and tricks video series would be super cool. Like going over general thought process as well as all the little tips you know about how to differentiate different countries.

Was just revisiting this video, and I am amazed how much the community has gone forward since this. Two years ago I wouldn't have had a chance and now many of the "hard" rounds were quite easy with lots of meta (Poland: Polish style utility poles, Malaysia: Mainland utility pole sticker etc). The Sicily round might have brought me down though.
It is crazy when you get a round on a street that I know really well! I’m from Catania and as soon as you got the Etna round I knew where you where!

I actually really like the narration over the round from future tom, it allows him to explain his thinking better and give the viewer more hindsight of the round and tom's thinking.
You're right, Tom. There's VERY rarely a Canadian flag in French Canada. Most often you'll see a Québec flag.
The first Quebec guess, I said Ontario or US at first because it didn't look like where I live, but then I saw the Arrêt. Of course, it makes sense, it was in Abitibi.
