Here is some more interesting Lore. The ability to manipulate Memories is a property of Darkness. We see this in Union X when the Formless Darkness unchains the Memories from the Vessel of the Killer of Lauriam's sister. Darkness is also a Shapeshifter and shapeshifts people They touch. (see the difference in Appearance of Diz and Ansem the Wise or the Yellow Eyes of vessels of Darkness, or Vanitas). Darkness is the reason Namine exists, specifically Darkness can access Ventus and Kairi's Hearts when Sora become a physical Darkness, the Heartless. Now, if you have played Union X, you will know Spoilers: One of the Formless Darkness attached Themselves to Ventus and becomes Vanitas in the future. When Vanitas returns to being Formless Darkness in Ventus in BBS, They can flow through to Sora (because of his super empathy) when he becomes a Heartless (Physical Darkness). And that Darkness created Namine and Roxas. It is also possibly responsible for transferring the features of Ventus on to Namine and Roxas. And we know Vanitas/Darkness created a separate body from Ventus. Also, although Kairi and Ventus cannot grow Darkness from inside their Heart, The Ancient Darkness can still parasite onto them from the Outside. You might also notice Namine starts "existing" in Castle Oblivion, the place Ventus's body is. The Place Formless Darkness is, hiding inside him. So Roxas and Namine are Darkness copies of Ventus and Kairi with bits of cross over.
And yet, I'm supposed to accept their sacrifice like nothing. People as special as them ! Don't get me wrong, it's not like I wanted Sora to be sacrificed or anything, so I try to give a pass for Xion's sacrifice. But certainly the existance of miracles such as those two Nobodies should spike some more hope in Diz's heart. Even Riku recognizes that value, and he's no scientist. A scientist's pleasure is to discover ! Just like Jabami Yumeko from "Kakegurui", I find people who don't try to balance some form of pleasure with practicality boring. For example, Sora's pleasure is his love, so he's fun. Riku's is adventure, yet he lost that pleasure the moment he decided not to insist in pursuing his theories regarding Roxas. So, he's boring. In the words of Jerome from "Gotham": "-(Yawns) Wow ! What a boring story."
Also, about the specifics about Kairi turning Sora back into a human from a Heartless, in Union X we are taught about it by Darkness speaking to the time traveled Maleficent. They tell us that if you are just a Heart, if a person remembers you and has a medium (object of yours), they can remember you back. Now, Kairi doesn't have a medium, but she does have the Light. So, Kairi uses her memories of Sora and Light plus the Heart inside the Heartless to remember him back. So, Darkness created Roxas and Namine when Sora stabbed himself and then, later, Kairi remembers Sora back. Thus, Sora and Roxas both exist at the same time. Sora's body is a Remembered Body made by Light. Roxas is Sora's original body made by Darkness using Ventus as a blueprint. Namine is a copy of Sora's Darkness body shaped into the form of Kairi with features of Ventus and Castle Oblivion (white dress). .... Whew.
Also, a Heartless actually still has a Heart, it is just the Darkness exploded out of the Heart, and Physical Darkness enveloped it. So, Sora's Heart is in the Heartless. For Evidence, a Heart pops out of a Heartless when it gets destroyed, and Saix Talks about Heartless collect Hearts, but not knowing what to do with Them. In order to go to the Final World, both the Heart and the Body must get annihilated. Then, the Will must resist the process of going back to the True Kingdom Hearts.
That's actually a great line of throught! Roxas, Naminé, Vanitas and even Shion all influenced each other's appearances because of all the Hearts connected to Sora's at the time of their creation... hmmmm...
"I bet you never thought we'd need algebra to explain KH lore". Nope, this series has driven us all to different breaking points, algebra is 100% the logical next step.
Coming back to this video i have a theory that Namine exist because of Ventus. So we already know he's shattered his heart and that Vanitas is a piece of him to. I wouldn't be surprised if his heart was healed mostly but his heart has shown that it protects Sora and Sora even taking aspects and mannerisms from him. Longstory short i wouldn't put it past Ventus heart going to Roxas but also a bit to Namine especially with the fact she had access not just Sora's memories but its hinted at she knew about Ventus before even making a connection to Terra when he was the lingering will. Theres also the fact that she and Ventus both were in castle oblivion we don't really know where Namine spawned in from but if it was in castle oblivion she might have spawned there because of Ventus.
The REAL question is-- Why is Namine? But honestly another great video, and after watching all the others I think that you Sir have gotten a new Subcriber! 👍
Hear me out. Say heartless are hearts that have been over come by darkness. What if K in kh1 was a heart in a doll. N, if she is a nobody, has been alive away from k for a very long time, maybe since k was sent away from castle oblivion. Which you see at the end of melody of memory. Lol kairi might have memory magic all on her own. Seems like everyone else withher face (Xion) does.
I didn't know she was hated. This is a surprise for me. But I wonder if some part of me was infected by such conception, because in fanfic scenarios, I ALWAYS try to imagine her in a darker stage light. 🤔🤔🤔 Nah ! I do it because I believe in earning your freedom. And if being a Witch makes her different from Kairi, then that means she's doing more of her own thing.
A Nobody is just what's left behind after the Heart leaves and forms a Heartless. Stronger willed Nobodies have distinctive forms, otherwise become basic wiggly Nobodies. From what I understood, Naminé was created the moment Kairi's heart left her body to hide in Sora's. I'm just unclear on how Naminé kept existing after Kairi was reformed... Also : 3:44 Venuts heheheh
What about during the 358/2 days movie in which Axel read about a passage about the "Truth" about namine written by Vexen(Even). Theres always that part in which we don't know what Even wrote about Naminé.
I bet if she was offered friendship with Roxas and Xion by using her powers to make them real, she'd try to feel less guilty about her mission, since technically, she'd be told she'd be helping people. Marluxia miscalculated. Also, I hate he's being used as a good guy now. I hate how most Nobodies are good guys now just because they got their hearts back (dark empathy exists people, having emotions doesn't automatically mean the person will feel regret). Vexen I can accept. He created Xion and programmed her to be real, not to mention he seems to be the closest to Ienzo (and his Zexion persona seemed mostly neutral, and his manipulations were based on what he believed Riku was, not what he wanted him to be, so I can accept him too). I can also accept Axel. But Larxene, Marluxia... It makes no sense to me.
See, I always figured this WAS the case back in the day. Kairi's direct physical contact with a heartless was what pulled her heart out again and attempted to create a heartless and nobody but failing the former as she had no darkness of her own, so her heart returned to her body at the same time that body became a nobody. Kinda like exploiting a glitch in a video game that causes two things to happen at once that otherwise shouldn't be able to lol. (Actually calling it a glitch exploit like that would make more sense nowadays what with all the meta themes we have now) Buuuuut apparently according to the secret Ansem reports and I thiiiink? Developer/writer interviews and/or Ultimania interviews, it's been officially canonically stated that namine and Roxas were both created when Sora stabbed himself. It was apparently the combination of Sora AND kairi's hearts and her body that caused it. Somehow. The canon explanation is less clear. And dumber. Incidentally I've had my own pet theory regarding the blonde hair thing for a while. Most ppl say it was because Roxas/Ventus is also blond and had an influence on it but I've never found that adequate anymore than the answer to how she was born at all. But Instead, here's my pitch: Ven lost his heart and went to sleep, his heart found its way to Sora as it had previously and stayed there to rest. When Sora stabbed himself, the presence of Ven's heart resulted in Sora's nobody looking like Ven more than Sora. I believe that by the same or a similar process, Ava lost her heart at some point and it somehow found refuge inside of Kairi's, and stayed there in sleep until the moment Sora stabbed himself. Kairi's nobody, bizarre as the nature of her existence is already, still arguably should have looked like Kairi given it was simply her body. But I believe instead that the presence of Ava's heart was what influenced Naminé's unique appearance. I believe if we were to see Ava unmasked at any point, she would resemble Naminé or at least have identical hair to her. This may mean Naminé could uncover dormant memories of Ava and perhaps result in some kind of split personality situation, or that Ava remains asleep inside Naminé (or maybe back in Kairi's heart now) and her body is sleeping somewhere, waiting for someone to find her. (Incidentally, compare Ava's back cover scene of protecting Gula from Ira to Naminé's ReCoM scene of protecting Sora from Larxene c:)
I don’t think that a new body is grown, because there there would be 2 left over bodys. I think that Sora is a heartless in kh1 and CoM, but like SoD he has a look and a form just like a heartless
Namine is an anonomly when she says roxas shouldnt exist shes really talking about herself becuase she doesnt count as a nobody. And this is becuase kairis body was fine. And becuase shes a pure light she cant seperate the normal way if the heart leaves the body it will not turn into a nobody. A nobody happens when a heartless forms the nobody is the body and soul which is what's left.
My personal understanding is that Naminé is a special Nobody born from Sora's body and Kairi's heart. The process of Kairi's heart leaving Sora's body shaped her identity. She has special powers because Kairi was a Princess of Heart at the time. Sora probably has a blond gene that influenced Naminé's hair.
it’s definitely the unpopular opinion but i agree with what you said that it’s all flashing lights and bullshit and reconned later, because if you take KH1, CoM, and KH2 it isn’t that hard to understand what the story had going on. cause it’s not that hard to wrap your head around nobodies just being a what’s left after someone becomes a heartless. and before BBS we didn’t actually know if all nobodies looked different than their original, so the hair being blonde wasn’t too weird. BBS was where things got complicated. IMO, BBS is the turning point for the writing of the series. This is when everything had to start being retconned and written after the fact. I still love the KH series but man. BBS really did a number on the story that came after it.
At first I thought the “how is Namine” was a mental health reflection check on Namine

I'm convinced Ventus gave Namine blond hair.

Whenever you date something to September (17th) I jolt at the possibility that I've stumbled onto the 9/11 kingdom hearts theory
What about during the 358/2 days movie in which Axel read about a passage about the "Truth" about namine written by Vexen(Even). Theres always that part in which we don't know what Even wrote about Naminé.

Interesting departure from the other theories I've seen that says Namine was created when Sora stabbed himself.

All I'm saying is, if Ava's darkness looks like Kairi but with black hair, I'm gonna lose my shyit.
so: she is kinda,, their????? daughter?????????? but with a lil ventus tossed in there for flavor
wait so Namine is like Sora and Kairi kid with a piece of Vanitas?

I'll do you one better! WHY is Namine?!
How is Namine? Bad writing and plot holes.
