The saddest part of Saturday is always seeing the last second of the video and realising there's another week to wait.
I loved Trott's Vancouver accent! Felt like I was in Canada!

Damn i was watching this and the way they kept describing everything kept making me think "Damn this sounds like rural michigan, could be like a thirty minute drive from me" and then they say "Clio Michigan" and it's only a 20 minute drive lmao
I love how the series are gradually ramping up. Loved the idea of trot just sitting in his room watching spooky videos and slowly going insane. Been missing the RPG since Yogsquest.

I hope we get more Trott in future Mystery Quests. He glues quite well, in terms of running the spectrum from grounded to loony characters.
Lydia Was Killing it With all her voices and witness.
Lewis and lydia are perfect in these games. Loving seeing Trott and Mark in something a bit different then what they are used to.

I pretty much never comment but wanted to say how much I appreciate the production aspect of these videos. The background music, sound effects. I listen to these as background story in one ear at work and it's perfect. Like an audio book.
I find it funny how many of these TTRPGs that Tom runs are set in my home state of Michigan.
Oh, and Lydia got the pronunciation of Clio correctly. Also, and somewhat hilarious, some locals 'made' a horror movie in Clio in 2016 as a documentary style thing. I remember meeting them at some event and had to immediately excuse myself because I had nothing nice to say about their project. I wonder if the person who made this TTRPG was influenced by them though.

I was just looking for a video to watch while I ate, but instead I found some strange new one I hadn't seen so I clicked and found myself on a Mystery Quest!

the intro's to all of Mystery quest videos, are honestly such a draw, it's very creative, a bit comical, and spooky, really sets the tone for the games and the crew!
Tom makes the best intros and outros, like that sinking city series he did with Simon

Damn I love Mystery Quest and Call of Cuthulu in particular! The setting, the suspense, the slow reveal of the supernatural. I just love it!

It’s always surreal seeing a place local to me come up in a Yogs video. The only other times I’ve seen the Yogs talk about my region of Michigan is in two different Simon’s PP episodes. Btw the town of Clio is pronounced like “bio”, not like “Cleopatra”.
I’m curious, does Tom script the intros or are they all improvised off of a loose starting idea?
Lol I got the same feeling. In fact, in the first episode when Tom said "Cleo," I thought "He didn't mean "Clio" did he? Then bam, Genesee County gets name dropped.

I had forgotten that today was upload day for Mystery Quest! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for our intrepid “ghost hunters”.
Mark's news caster is pretty good (as an american). It's not quite there but I believe that's largely due to the copy he had to read as part of the role-play (no shade, just the reality). I will say Mark is a great addition here and I'm glad to see him doing role-play.

Yessssssssssssssss...
You hold the lantern up high as you trudge through the thick Louisiana swamp. You can hardly see a metre in front of you, and you are deafened by the clicking and crowing of creatures that inhabit this place. You know you can’t stop here, you can’t leave your wife behind with whatever dragged her out of the shack. You hear a gurgle…and behind you, the swamp rises up tall to reveal a towering silhouette of sludge. It reeks of death, and two yellow stained eyes are all you can make out in the mist. You try to let out a cry of help, but the putrid stench emanating from this beast plugs your mouth from making any noise. By gods…are the tales really true….is this what took my janette….or are we on… a mystery quest!

I saw the Wiz last week. I understand why they got snubbed overall, but those performances were legitimately stunning. I do feel as though there should have been one or two performances nominated, given what I saw.
I think the biggest issue with the show is that the book is fairly weak, in addition with some less inventive direction. Despite that, the music direction was fantastic and the performances were A+. It deserved at least a little more recognition imho
