here are couple of things which i learned from killing this boss- 1. always bring dragon bolts e, normal bolts dont do enough damage 2. you need near 90 lvls to effectively kill this boss 3. during the initial phases, try to hug the walls of the room because if the fight goes for too long, the boss will fill the room with spikes. 4. dong forget to use augury or mystic might when casting freezes so that you can freeze more frequently. 5. always keep your mouse over the pray mage prayer when its in green phase. GL with the venator shard
I do agree with 90 range before that I had to use ranging pot with 85 range felt worst than 91 range with range pot. That said, dont think u need dragon bolts except for the sapphire one maybe but u aren't really doing dmg on the pray phase.

But Kaoz, I have 3 wives, 15 kids, and 35 dogs. My stats are all base 50’s and my best armor is red d’hide with white mystic. I can’t kill this boss so therefore this boss is poorly designed and it’s definitely not because I am bad at the game. Also, a mid level guide but using TBow and Shadow? Wow, this is worthless. Disliked and unsubbed.
Good guide, reason why Muspah hit 0's both time when they melee attacked you is because if you make it move during it's melee phase you gain a dodge. Makes kills a lot faster if you just abuse this mechanic allowing the need to not freeze it.
this must have been patched in an update since a year ago as i made it move and got clapped for 26 every time it got in melee range so this doesnt actually happen
I got the charged ice with full arma and ruby d bolts, also 1 thing to note is after prayer phase it summons the spikes every 4 attacks! Counting its attacks has helped alot dodging the spikes
To anyone trying the boss after the quest and is watching this video, you want ATLEAST 90 magic and ranged to be able to kill the boss, anything lower and you are 100% reliant on bolt procs from rubies and saphires both for 1 kc, if u don't get either just tele out and reset otherwise you WILL just waste supplies. If you are an ironman and can't get dragon bolts easily i would say to completely ignore this boss until bowfa and full crystal as it will be just pure pain/maybe get ACB. Maybe i was just bent over and shafted by Jagex but also the muspah can move through freezing, i hit an ice barrage the xp all came up and the ice was around it but it still moved at me and meleed me so watch out for that as it took loads of food straight away. It would also be worth having atleast Trident of the swamp/anything better as just trident with full ahrims and tormented with mage tome still gets freeze splashes roughly 4-5 times in a row usually every other trip so i don't think this can be killed in the midgame at all. It does take practise but really damage is all you need. A good example is you can get to the shield phase using exactly 0 food then get 0 saphire procs and be in that phase for 5 mins just eating damage through prayer while doing nothing in return and 1 wrong prayer swap so a magic hit and the kc is over, do anything else other than this boss
Nice guide Kaoz! I just finished the quest and the boss fight went fine until that prayer drain phase. I didn’t bring sapphire bolts so I tried flicking prayers and ended up going thru all my food. Came here to see what I was doing wrong. Nice job on the video man
Wondering how this boss will last over time. Can just sit at vorkath with way less effort and rake in the cash. Or put in the same amount of effort at this boss or the gauntlet but with a way higher unique drop potential at the gauntlet. Or even solo raids (ToA). Wonder how long people will stick around at this boss. Could work in it's favor for it's drops prices. I do really enjoy the mechanics of this boss. I think it's great for the game. But as either a sweaty nerd at this game or an afk nerd, this boss doesn't really fit either of those bills for me
@@ayez9057 Ive been lucky, but im running ACB/Buckler with Karils range only and I have double the gp id make at vork within the same KC not including 2 ven shards I average 2-3 kills trips or more if I hit the restore/food drop. The Ancient ess pretty much covers supplies in itself so any other drops are pure profit.

Either that or they are too shit to complete it with a mid level account and mid level gear, so they just make a half assed video about “Mid Level Set-ups” without proof to back up that they can even pull it off with mid level gear. Either way. Super frustrating.
Started doing some of these last night after grinding out a lot of bofa only Zulrah. Got a shard at 19 kc and made 5.9 off it. Seems like a decent middle ground boss for people working up towards maxed gear that don't want to do Vorkath. Doesn't appear to be super heavily botted due to requirements and mechanics that Jagex implemented. There's only a few thousand bows at most trading daily on the GE and with it being such a niche item and also BIS at BA, there's probably a good chance this boss could even trend upwards in the future with more content releases on the GP front. Going to probably grind out a few hundred to maybe 1000 of these in the next few months.
Void isn't great here, blessed d'hide & barrows gloves is almost same DPS on range phase. Full crystal with normal crystal bow is still way better DPS than void; 3.85 in void vs. 4.85 with crystal bow. You can get very lucky with bolt spec and do better but that rarely happens. I understand it's ~35m more but still, it's such a big boost for the money that I wouldn't bother doing Muspah without it (or even better gear of course).
If you’re going to use void you’re better off learning to kite the boss and just bring two staminas, it’s not even worth trying to freeze, just use trident of the swamp and kite the boss during melee phase

Without a doubt the hardest quest boss for mid to late game players. You have 99 range and magic with decent gear and you still almost didn't complete it just because it took so long. People aren't understanding this
I just found out myself. Copy the entire code and with the Ground Markers plugin active -> rightclick the map icon under your minimap and click Import Ground Markers.
Not really close to the same gp per hour. Phantom is almost double. shards are selling for 5.2m and not to mention the kills where you get 700k in loot. Best vorkath kills are around 120k and both take about the same amount of time to kill

I got 10 kills at 72 ranged, 52 prayer, 66 defense with a rune crossbow and normal bolts and no void. That gave me money for dragon crossbow and dragon bolts. It’s not that hard
FlippingOldSchool did a video like that, they used regular enchanted bolts with an RCB and black D'hide and would raise the budget after getting money from each kill

You were on long range the whole kill. That slowed up the kill quite a bit.

The mechanics are the same, just follow the instructions of the kill and use your gear. This boss isn't difficult once you know mechanics
I did muspah with a setup similar to this. And once i tried bowfa never going back its amazing.

I freeze in void 90% of my casts but I use occult imbued cape and upgraded ward with sang staff , tbow and zcb for range
i have normal trident is melee form weak to mage? ice spell seem to splash alot

It's really easy to pick up. It's less click intensive than Zulrah
