Awesome stuff mate! Definitely gonna start doing this instead of overcomplicating every grade! I’d love to see a tutorial on how you build different looks for one project and make them all feel cohesive and part of one world! I often use the same look for an entire video so I’d love to learn how I can mix it up more whilst keeping things feeling cohesive! Great video again mate!
For sure man! I’d love to do this one! I have a few projects coming up that I’m gonna be able to share a full breakdown of and it’s gonna be a great opportunity for that! My grades from one scene to the next usually look VERY different, but they’re cohesive. That’s the trick
Another great video man, lov it. just wondering could you do a breakdown of how you do the split transitions in the timeline when showing the different steps of the grade. ie the start of the vid. Hope that makes sense.
@@jvke.p Yeah that would be great, I have heard it's simple but not got my head around the process and only seen vids that show one wipe. so would be grateful to see your process. Really gonna need it for when I do my showreel....Thanks for the reply.
Can I ask why everyone uses davinci for these color grading tutorials and not like premiere pro or after effects ? Also where could I go to school for something like this what would it be called ? Thanks
These tutorials are done in Resolve because Premiere is not a professional color grading software, nor is after effects. Premiere is for editing, and After Effects is for VFX.
how do you get the rich deep saturation without it looking over saturated? like "end of the fucking world" or "i am not ok with this"? is it colour sepereation? hue vs luminance? those films have a sort of colour density to them
Thanks for sharing. It works really good. Hi Jake, are you able to create a video for color grading like The XX - on hold or I dare you MV? I found it hard to grading like them.
Love your tutorial! Great content. Could you make a video about Display Color Management, Color Gamma, and how you deal with all that in your workflow? Because I'm having some issues about color grading in Premiere Pro and when I export it in H264, it looks totally desaturated. I've seen some videos saying to use a Quick Gamma correction LUT provided by Adobe... But I mean... How do you guarantee color accuracy?
this is a very deep topic. there are countless variables on a setup to setup basis but the best way to guarantee accuracy is to invest some money into color accurate hardware. a calibrated monitor, a video output box, and build your color science knowledge. it really does just take a lot of research. but you'll find it can actually be more simple than you think
@@auzzyb4122 dude definitely get Davinci Resolve if you haven't! It's so good and best of all doesn't crash!😂 But seriously it's powerful and is use in huge Hollywood film!
It can still work on 8 bit footage! The only difference is that 8 bit can be less forgiving. You have a lot more flexibility with 10,12, 16 bit footage.
If I had any constructive criticism, it would be to post two of these a day because they're so helpful
😂sounds like I need to get to work. Thanks brother!
Man two a day is a whole lot!😂
If Brady B is praising you, I’m hitting that subscribe button ASAP.
@@CritterElectronics do it because he’s incredibly talented

when you said we are doing to do like that so u can apply to all videos. love it man you made me subscribe dude
Грамотный туториал. Без всяких готовых лутов показано как делать нужный эффект. Best. Tnx !

A lot of it is set design. A lot Is shooting on film. Or emulating film prints.
what a great video thanks for posting
thank you!
So good man
For that reason I bought the resolve studio version
nice!
can you do this in premiere pro
you can try!
@@jvke.p lol I will one day 😂 I’m just getting into video editing

Can I have it as a Lut :))
no, because this isn't a look that can be translated to a lut.
"Color Grade like Birds of Prey or Kingsman", please.
