I love how Kimmel, Fallon and Colbert turned the "late night wars" concept on its head and actually do bits with each other and do each other's shows. It's quite refreshing when you think about how ugly things got with Leno, Letterman and poor Conan who ended up being collateral damage.
Absolutely 😊 I watch all of the late shows and although I have my favorites, I love that they are all part of a brotherhood and not competitors. By the way, there's a podcast called Strike Force Five with the 5 late show hosts Kimmel, Fallon, Colbert, Seth Meyers and Jon Oliver, and guests like Jon Stewart and Letterman.
Used to be if Johnny Carson had a celebrity guest plugging a show that was airing on a network other than NBC, Johnny couldn't even mention the name of the other network. Nothing nasty, just a bit petty on the part of NBC.
I also think that the networks recognize/realize that their late night hosts being friends and doing bits on each others' shows are actually beneficial rather than detrimental in that it doesn't steal viewers or ratings in the long run, especially in the streaming age.

It may also be that the hosts and show producers have enough clout within the corporations nowadays to make the network higher-ups give in to -demands- suggestions that the shows want to do even if the networks are uncomfortable with it. John Oliver's continuous on-air bashing of HBO and AT&T is one hilarious example.

@@stevenholderby6354 that's why I used to watch him, until he started getting either intellectually lazy or desperate for ratings. I still tune in once in a while, holding out hope. He was the only politically independent host out there.

😮❤😂 growing up in Italian/ Irish family I totally relate to Jimmy, plus I grew up in Las Vegas. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas we always had the American traditional food but you could guarantee to find a huge antipasto plate, baked ziti, sausage & peppers, lasagna, ricotta pie... Unfortunately now because of divorces, deaths and just the treacherous cycle of life all those holiday memories are in the past. I'll never have a holiday like that again 😢
