- Yeah, the Jungle Cruise premiere happened, but so too did the rest of Disneyland. I was there from rope drop to closing again, and our day featured 3 separate meals at Jolly Holiday, all great. Plus a relaxing and somewhat EERIE visit Tom Sawyers Island. Then we close with the magic of Fantasyland and nights at Disneyland lifting me up and giving me energy and whimsy.

“Oh it’s a jolly holiday with Fresh Baked!” David, one of my favorite things about your videos that I feel no one else (that I’ve seen) does as intentionally as you do is letting Disneyland just be Disneyland. You don’t overwhelm the Disneyland content with an assertive TV host personality. You really let this stuff shine for itself. Like a reverent docent of Disney, you produce a direct interface between the viewers and the subject.
I have other channels with very different styles that I love for their own things, but I feel like raw Disneyland appreciation is your thing and I’m here for it.
the best part of the video that was so cool was the woman shouting "OH MY GOD, IT'S FRESH BAKED!!!!!" nice to see his Fans reconized him at Disneyland.

My best friend and I always loved Jolly Holiday. He passed away 2 months ago. I'm so sad. But this video made me smile. RIP Ken!

Loss is hard to deal with (I recently lost my best friend too) but remembering them in a positive way is the best thing. They are always with us in our hearts 💕
Disneyland at night is awesome. The lighting is just magical.
I make the food for jolly holiday and I want to say thanks for showing off the food and saying what items are your favorite! It make me happy to know that the food makes you and others happy!
Chill, philosophical and nostalgic. On our family trips I like to spend a day or at least part of the day just like this. Slowing down to appreciate the park, the people and the cast members that make Disneyland so uniquely magical. Thank you 😊

I love how you talked about reciprocal happiness and about doing what you love. I am going to be starting at Disneyland here in a few days and I want to be the person like that, and help create happiness and magical memories for people, regardless of if the work is hard or people are rude at times!
I remember climbing that tree in the 60s! Not sure if you were supposed to but we did!

Used to go into Fort Wilderness many years ago. They had mounted guns up in the towers. There were restrooms and for a time I remember they had a snack stand in there with basic snacky stuff.
You used to be able to go up in the treehouse on Tom Sawyer Island. I have pictures of my kids in it....2008 or 2009

I'm 16 days away from my first Disneyland trip in a long time....and now I'm worried about the new CDC guidelines regarding masks....im not opposed to wearing a mask, but I was excited to have a "normal" trip back at Disneyland :(

@@alyssaa3533 nothing has been formally put in place, but the CDC is putting out new guidelines that all people, vaccinated or not, wear a mask indoors in highly populated areas.

The unvaccinated are supposed to wear mask indoors at Disneyland (unless eating). But, I think the rules will change with the new CDC guidelines. We shall see.

Last Tuesday i had the perfect position for the Show. Where Main street transitions to the hub. It was the best of both for me.

My two boys and I went to Tom Sawyers Island first thing and we had the place to ourselves for quite some time. It was awesome 👌

As a kid my favorite part of Tom Sawyer’s Island was shooting at people in Bear Country from the top of Fort Wilderness. The rifles made a great sound which you could hear from across the river. Every once in a while you could find a playful guest to drop to their death.
Also, it’s videos likes this that make me love FreshBaked. #JoHoforlife

For me, the best food at Holiday is the grilled cheese with tomato soup. It's cheap yet delicious and filling.
I have missed your day at Disneyland vlogs! Nobody does it better than Fresh Baked!! When you were on the island I was thinking how it was closed for over a year, and how the whole park was empty this time last year. Its not empty anymore tho! wow looks like its back to normal crowd levels!

My favorite things at Jolly Holiday are the egg & cheese croissant for breakfast, and the abuelita hot chocolate at night. It's so cinnamon-y and delicious!
I was on the Columbia on 27 Jul 2021 when it broke down about 700-800 feet away from the dock. They had to take one of the keel boats and bring it up to the side with a maintenance man. After he did some work, Columbia was able to pull into dock, but then it was down for the rest of the day. The maintenance man commented that "it took the wind out of its sails. . . wait, there are no sails, are there?" We laughed. . . .
'Whale-watcher spot'?! OMG! I did that with my sister in the 60s!!! I didn't think they allowed it anymore! Hooray! My faith in current-day Disneyland has been restored!!! 👏🤣❤️
Candied nuts are super easy to make. 2/3 cup of nuts and 3 tablespoons of sugar in a pan over medium heat until the sugar melts, just stir them now and then.

While it’s a completely different experience, there’s a pop-mosh band that I see fairly regularly (when they’re touring at least - last year excluded, obviously…RIP to live music, 2020) and early on in every set, their singer always says that whatever energy we as the audience give them, we’re gonna get it right back in their performance.
You were applying that more to having that mindset in everyday life than you were w/ respect to the performer/observer relationship, but it’s still nice to see hear you encouraging people to keep that concept in mind.

I have to be completely honest with you, Fresh Baked. Thank you so much for all your videos and updates this past year. It really made it easier coping without Disneyland during the pandemic. Last time I went was in March right before the pandemic hit. And then I did the Touch Of Disney food event back in March with my coworkers. My best friend and I are finally going back in September. We're gonna check out Avengers Campus for the first time ever and it's her first time seeing Galaxy's Edge so we're doing Oga's Cantina and Savi's Workshop. And it's the first day of Halloween Time which we didn't even know. We're going all out! I can't wait! Thanks again for all your videos and updates during these bizarre times. 👍👍👍
It is a good salad. The funny thing is, that Jolly Holiday salad is really a relic of about the late 1990’s when you started seeing all those ingrediants. About the same time as the “Chinese Chicken Salad” came about (invented by Wolfgang Puck), and the “Southwest” salad. All staples of the chain resturants (Friday’s, Applebee’s, BJ’s….), or as I say “The Big Book of Cliche Menu Items”.

When David was talking about going into Fort Wilderness and asking for old footage, it reminded me of a Disneyland Picture Book. It was from the early to mid 1960s and as a toddler, I had memorized the entire book even though I couldn't read. It was just photos from around Disneyland and the text was all in rhyming verse. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I am late 50s now and would like to get myself a copy of it once again.

I have a dumb question. I live on East coast and I've never been to Disneyland. Only saw it in specials when I was little on TV. I only remember it call Disneyland when I was young.. Was it also called Magic Kingdom from the beginning as well as DL or was MK title added later to the West coast park.? Thank you for all your vlogs. I enjoy watching them and hope to visit there some day. ❤
It was called Magic Kingdom from the start, not so much now.
Disneyland is also known as "Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom" as stated in the Disneyland train depot announcements. It's referred to as an alternate name. WDW's Disneyland-like park was always named Magic Kingdom (1971).

With the ability to go in the treehouse removed...and the caves etc made so much smaller after the Phantasmic show...Fort Wilderness shuttered...I feel Tom Sawyers Island is seriously lacking...They need to make repairs and get all the water running again and there NEEDS to be more there...it just seems to wasted the last decade+...such a shame

So true. I have spent a lot of time on TSI back in the good old days, going back to the 1960’s and thewhen I got older with younger family members. This is what happens when we try to “protect” everyone. We wipe out the fun and exactly what Walt wanted the Island to be. A place for exploring and adventures. Now we have to make sure no one skins their knee or their adventure offend anyone! (Where’s that time machine to go backwards?)

It’s funny how I never go to Tom Sawyer’s Island during my several yearly day trips to Disneyland I do.. I’m not exactly sure what’s there. Is there a haunted cave walk through on Tom Sawyer’sIsland.? Five Fires alluded to it.
Do you have a idea or heard anything about when they are staying open until Midnight? We saw you at the entrance on July 16 on our three day trip. I’m heading back with the family on December 3 through the 6th. I’m hoping that we get the extra two hours at the park that is my favorite time from 10 PM till close
What happened to the color profile, it looks overexposed in the middle while being heavily vignetted around the outside of the frame?
That kind of looked like Yensid55 at the 0:45 mark; until he took of his hat. Another thing that is missed on *Tom Sawyer's Island* is the burning cabin that you can see from the Mark Twain. Sadly since they rerouted the Rivers of America the cabin is no more; but that was a good thing because we got SWGE.
There's a new cabin now, its just not on fire. I'm not sure if its in the same place as the previous one but it's in the same general area

The Jolly Holiday has iced coffee that’s not to bad but breakfast isn’t the best there, but I do love me some cinnamon roll LOL
