Bro playing Drop D riffs on the Chug Stick lmao
Chug stick ? more like Djent stick
@@mrbobmetalhead69reminds me of the After The Burial’s A Wolf Amongst Ravens Played on an ACTUAL Djent Stick.
This is like when guitar retail companies demo 8 strings and they haven’t a clue how to play 8 strings.
LOL
You should watch the fishman deftones guitarist demo lol
@@slipknotsergethat video is hilarious 😂
Dude said he had to tune up to get into drop D.
im gonna be fuming if there are less than 7 lamb of god riffs on here
Could have easily been just them and Trivium TBH! But I try my best to keep these videos to one riff per band.
I love the intro to in your words.
A wild 6 string appears for Bilmuri, and disappears before anyone notices.
2:10 stopping "Killing in the Name Of" right before the beat drop should be considered a war crime.
Edit: I must use these likes for good. Listen to Admiral Angry. Buster is tuned to Drop G#0, and it has become one of my favorite albums in existence.
I have never felt so blue balled
I'm never forgiving Andrew for this
I was just about to say this.
I love that Admiral Angry album
@@psychosis8429 Fuck yeah bro
I thought you were gonna play them an octave lower. Would watch that
Back to my old what if ___ tuned down vids for that lol
@@BaenaCarcosabanging series
Came here to say that
Am i the only one hearing drop D as if it was one million of semitones higher after listening Andrew playing so many 9 string guitar riffs?
Never thought Baena would tune this high
Baena when he sees a 5 string bass with each string loosened to the point of 0.0 newtons of tension paired with an entire octave down on a pedal (it's too high)
1:04 Unholy Confessions - A7X
1:35 Danger: Wildman - The Devil Wears Prada
1:48 Killing in the Name - RATM
2:12 Pull Harder on the Strings - Trivium
2:40 Now You've Got Something To Die For - Lamb of God
2:59 The Final Episode - Asking Alexandria
3:28 The Beautiful People - Marilyn Manson
3:41 The Thing That Should Not Be - Metallica
4:15 Courtney Just Relax - Static Dress
4:36 Better Hell - Bilmuri
5:15 Fauxhammer - Black Tongue
When I was this at first I thought he was gonna play Fauxhammer in drop d
I know Thing That Should Not Be is technically in D Standard but it still works really well in Drop D, definitely one of their coolest riffs but another solid Drop D song from them is All Nightmare Long from Death Magnetic. That one also kicks ass
Well cause hes still playing all the same notes so it doesnt actually matter
@@EliPorterMahn I know
@@EliPorterMahnit definitely matters because it suppose to be played with fourths not fifths
@@EliPorterMahnit does :)
It's drop c# really though
Ah, back to the OG drop tuning.
"I know it's weird to tune this high and still be heavy" is crazy 😭
STATIC DRESS MENTIONED LET'S GOOOO
I was fully expecting Asking Alexandria to be in this video and you delivered
BILMURI MENTIONED RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH🦅🦅🦅
N A Y S H
My hog is fucking CRANKED brother
Honey Bucket by Melvins is a favorite drop D riff of mine and it is absolutely ferocious
I was expecting this on a 6 string...but Holy fuck. You went hard on it. I still love tuning my 6 string in drop d.
God, I remember when I thought this was the most low tuned, badass stuff. Now that I listen to bands like Admiral Angry, this sounds like it is in mosquito register 💀
ADMIRAL ANGRY MENTIONED RAAAAAAAAH
@@Hellscrap3r YEAAAAAAH
nice brother, i am excited to start watching this video now! Drop D was the first thing i did where i felt like i was writing heavy riffs!
And there I thought "Oh... Drop D1 or some sh*t because 8 strings"... Well nevermind
Awesome compilation. Gotta dispute the Trivium pick - "Suffocating Sight" is where it's at... but it's absolute murder to play at speed.... or even at half speed....
Killing in the name! What a great riff!
The thing that should not be is actually in D Standard not Drop D
Oops lol
@BaenaCarcosa it's you so it's ok 😂😂
@BaenaCarcosa if you ever do a list like this again all nightmare long is a great drop D song from metallica
@@jacobsage2025all nightmare long is d standard too
Yeah, but it still works pretty well for Drop D
“It’s weird to tune this high and be heavy” lmao yea I bet it’s so weird to hear each fret play a different note😂😂The BEST metal is in E.
Yeah I was gonna say.. Opeth has heavier riffs than the ones in the video that are played in E standard
i legit thought you were about to play drop d riffs but an octave down like 8 string drop D, thats a video idea
Static Dresses kets goooo!
we need a part 2 of the drop A riffs!
I love all of these songs
No Helmet? This list null and void without any Helmet.
Ahhhh dude, I thought you were fixing to play all of these riffs in double drop D… that would be sick!
Ok i got baited, it's the "old drop d" lol love you dude 💜
Haven’t heard any of the songs yet but there has to be one or two lamb of god
I was trying to learn by ear how to play that Black Tongue song, but you make my life easier :>
GOD playing my favourite band at the end made me so happy
Please do a heaviest breakdowns in drop d, I learn a lot from your videos bro!!!
A7X- unholy confessions is a fun one
!!!!!!! DUDE!!!!!!! 😂 I can’t believe I type this and post it then you play that first😂😂😂hell yeah bro that’s awesome
Yo, who was manning the camera at the end there? My bet's on Johnny or Serena. Legit thought it was falling over on its stand at first until it whipped back up in response. Great bit. Love to see it.
Thanks haha, it was Serena
@BaenaCarcosa I miss seeing her on camera with you. Any plans or ideas to have her on again?
MySpace era death core band EMILYROSE was in drop D and played some heavy shit
Uf, Danger:Wildman was a blast from the past. Gotta listen to that now :D
I'd actually argue that Remenissions from that same A7X album hits WAY harder, like holy shit that was heavy AF for Drop D in 2003
That and the intro of Desecrate Through Reverence are the heaviest songs on Waking the Fallen. I still think they have heavier stuff in Drop D (specifically An Epic of Time Wasted and God Hates Us)
@djentleman578 God Hates Us is one hell of a fucking banger. My favorite track off of Nightmare.
Solid list. Id love another video with more Bilmuri. Only notable omission I can think of is Billy Talent. They have tons of solid riffs, should be Drop D.
I was gonna have some Billy talent in here originally but chose to opt out for some of the other picks here. They def have some bangers
Nice bass backing track - is there a version with guitar?
STATIC DRESS mentioned. I'm happy.
I really wanted that AA riff to go on lmao
4:40 BILMURI, LETS GOOOO
I really thought you would play them in Drop D1. 😄
When I saw the video title and the 8 string: "uh oh"
I’d have thought that bilmuri would be dadgad.
Disclaimer : WATCH THE FULL VIDEO FOR A SURPRISE ❤
That bass is trying to shine in the background more than the guitar 🤣
I first thought drop D1 with that guitar
“It’s not the tuning man, it’s the riff”
-Andy Williams
Waiting patiently for Blackwater Park and never getting it hurt, but them Bilmuri made it all better 🐗🐗🐗
Pretty much a walk down the memory lane of metalcore
The twist in the end was crazy hahah!
But u missed sonne, 1 of the heaviest in drop d imo🤘🏿
Better A7x riff from that album is "Desecrate Through Reverence"! Not the slower intro riff but the one right after it!
Ah yes, back to the roots, the original drop tuning :)
How good is the Jackson JS22 dinky?
May I know what model is the guitar?
Ibanez Meshuggah. He has a video on it.
I feel like there was a missed opportunity with the same LoG song. The last interpretation of the final riff is far heavier than the rest of the song. An alternative may have been the verse to Omerta!
Maybe the bridge to ...And Their Eulogies Sang Me to Sleep?
the intro sounded like he was using a Jamaican accent lmao "drop de heaviest riffs"
You gotta paint that thing green now.
We gonna have to ding you for no Boundaries riffs
They are in drop B - and I have them in an upcoming video anyways ;)
@ oooo sick but they do have some songs in Drop D Is Survived By and Realize & Rebuild are the two off the top of my head unless I learned those wrong 😂
So your seriously saying, you don’t have a single damn 6 string guitar with string gages .11 through .56~?
Even nik nocturnal and Jared dines has a guitar for that stuff
Dude what is your shirt. It’s sick!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🐈
Alt title: Using Meshuggah guitar on all the wrong strings
I was guessing you’d do like light to the flies or pull harder for trivium hehe glad I was right ❤
Does that green rg8 get any love? I hardly see you play it
I just did a short/reel with it a few weeks ago - but I mostly only use it for After The Burial covers. I have like... 35 guitars so a lot of them don't get used that often for better or worse
Half step up is p hard too
The hammer on riff in unholy confessions is way heavier. specially when they slow it down
Static dress mentioned
HOSS GOBLESS
TDWP AND STATIC DRESS MENTIONED
Next: Drop D heaviest breakdowns
Hey Andrew so i just got a seven string and i wanted to ask what are easy seven string songs to learn to get the hang of it and also what string gauge would you recommend for drop g?
I'm a naughty boy, and don't change my strings like...ever. but, i'm pretty sure i've got a 62 for my B. I keep the guitar standard flat, but it can comfortably go to Ab. So, perhaps something a little thicker. But, make sure your tech properly sets stuff up, cuz the low string can sound real weird if things are off.
(The intro to Glass Prison by Dream Theater is very fun, and not particularly challenging! The rest, though? Just enjoy the slow prog)
@ my tech? Im doing this at home😭I’ve got a 56 on my B string im in drop A at the moment but the string feels like it has enough tension but also a tiny bit loose thanks for the information and ill give the song a listen and try it out also stay naughty my friend ‼️
@potatopeems7403 oh, see, i went to the only music store in town to have my main three tidied up and pampered. When i got the 7 back, the low B makes like...a "sucking" sound when i hit unmuted lower notes (say, anything between 0 and 8). Like Charlie Brown's teacher talking. I don't know nearly enough to fuck with it, myself, but i'll be damned if i go back to where it happened.
The Thing That Should Not Be is my least favourite song from Master of Puppets but I just learned that I'd bang my head off to a modern rendition of its riffs
I still have not seen anyone tuning an 8 string as I do, don't you prefer being able to play regular 6 string power chords when the root note is on the low string?
BILMURI, hell yes 🔥
Can you do a full cover of tdwp song?
Is survived by - boundaries would’ve fit well on here
The lack of Blackwater Park here makes me sad
@@static_motion I dont want to be put to sleep!
Was hoping you’d throw some Psycroptic in there 😢
Dope take your best shot 🤘
Technically it's in D Standard but it's an absolute travesty that The Only Thing They Fear Is You isn't on here, Doom soundtrack still better than most commerical music out there.
listen to "baile funky" from Raimundos, really really heavy drop D riff
Remember, kids. Yes, you can be heavy in really low tunings. Yes, you can be heavy in higher tunings. It's not just about the tuning though. It's about writing a good ass riff.
All jokes aside - absolutely!
I also play drop d like that, on a 8 string baby. Kinda find it hard to play a 6 string guitar now 😂
First I was going to be pissed if he didn't play the thing that should not be and then right before I started to get mad he started playing it, and the second thing I was expecting was the main riff of last resort
Bro how do you keep your matte guitars matte!? I must be a sweaty boy
Why does the Asking Alexandria one sound so similar to Take This Oath (I think it’s that, not 100% sure) by KSE?
Are you using Fortin Nameless Suite for this? I’m trying to pinpoint the tone.
The last song before the one more riff sounds like cKy
I haven’t watched it yet but I really hope An Epic of Time Wasted is here
Playing The Thing that should not be in drop D is CRAZY 😭😭😭
For those who don't know it's in D standard
Bangers
Mudhoney by Melvins takes the cake for best drop D song in my book.
Could you do another video on double drop b pls, I’m thinking of resistor, Milwaukee protocol, diamond construct, ect
0:12 "Since I LITERALLY don't own a single 6 string guitar that is tuned high enough to do this"
4:35 *Pulls out a single 6 string guitar that is, in fact, tuned high enough to do this*
Nope, it's in drop A haha - I was playing that whole song on it's top 5 strings
@@BaenaCarcosaAhhhhh, I didn't notice that. It was really hard to tell lol
Wait, NO YELLOWJACKET?!?!
