      Played as a child for the lols. You can't scheme to murder people at that age... Trust me I tried... 1st line for the kingdom but second in line for basically all other titles within the kingdom sooo I tried to make myself first in line for all. Although maybe it's possible to be roped into one as a kid? I never made it passed aged 9 though.... didn't notice an uncle with a crazy high intrigue skill started to hate me..... probably shouldn't have conquered his wife's lands. Minor lands not in the kingdom so I thought no big deal.

    The more I watch these videos, the more I come to understand just how massive this game really is. There's so much to take on board! As a new player to the CK series I'm keen to keep learning and actually succeed, and as easy as it is to feel overwhelmed these videos make me feel somewhat less daunted. So a HUGE THANKS for that. Will you do one on raising armies and war soon? Regardless, thanks again. I'm loving these videos and have found myself coming back to them daily just to get a handle on the basics. For noobs like me, this is essential viewing! Cheers! 👍

      Very glad to hear that! My plan is to make the next one, or the one after, about battles specifically - we touch on war and managing armies in broad strokes here - ruclips.net/video/AbGDKTBQrHI/видео.html (my apologies if you've already watched that one). Hoping to have that video out either tomorrow or on Sunday, depending on if I can pull another long day off or not hah.

      @@PartyElite That's brilliant, thank you. I watched it (several times) but expect there's a lot more to know with regards to armies and war (assuming so, considering almost all other aspects of the same are so deep), or I'm just not getting the hang of it yet. Could be both! Thanks again for the reply and the videos of course and don't stress about release times. I'll be happy whenever it comes out. It gives me time in the interim to learn other facets of the game! Thanks again. :)

    Some great uses of Intrigue:
    1) Start an abduction scheme on a powerful enemy you plan to attack (create an Agent by fabricating a hook on someone close to them first if the chance is too small). Just as the scheme completes, pause the game and declare war. Proceed with the abduction and BOOM, you'll recieve 100% war score for capturing the enemy.
    2) Abduct foreign rich people to ransom for for money. Be wary of abducting in your liege's land as they can arrest you.
    3) Crusades are a free dread/insight skill up if you have Divine Retribution. Capture as many heathens as you can, ransom the kids, torture the rest, and burn them at the stake! The enemy is too far away to seek retribution. Make sure you don't get stressed out, as certain traits make you a bad torturer.
    3) Fabricate a hook on great stat 20+ people to force them into your court. Once recruited as a chancellor they won't be super upset at you. This works great when starting with a county or two, as you are usually limited to bad picks for your council. Pick someone young, preferably not with influential parents as they can just invite their child back to court.
    4) When you have twice planned and want to murder someone important and protected (low chance), start a fabrication scheme on a potential agent close to the target. After a month or so (check your scheme power so the fabrication finishes first) start the murder scheme. You'll be able to forcibly recruit the agent for murder just as the murder scheme is ready, making it less likely to be discovered.
    5) If your enemy has a powerful alliance, murder the link - hover over the icon of who the enemy is allied with to see what ties them together (usually a marriage). Murder the easier target and they will lose out on an army for backup. Go to war immediately after as they will not typically find an alliance during war.

    Intrigue is so much better in CK3, once I was a Duke on the eastern coast the Bulgarian empire, and someone of my court started a killing spree against seemingly random people of my court.
    I put on my medieval Sherlock Holmes helmet and started smoking the pipe, only to find out that it was my own son and heir to my throne, which I fully consented to train into intrigue beforehand.
    I did not notice his traits made him an extremely dangerous unexploded ordnance!

    You explained it - but "seduce" and "romance". They're....The same? Both give relations, both have a chance to produce a child and give higher chances of kids (fertility?) and only one gives prestige? Having a hard time seeing the difference.....Is one accepted and the other not should they be discovered?

    • @mafiacat88
      @mafiacat88 4 года назад +1

      From what I can tell (based off of a lot of reading forum posts) it's a slightly different focus. Seduce is where the goal is to sleep with them, romance is to get them to fall in love with you. So while they both do the same thing, seduce =more kids, less feelings, romance=more feelings, less kids.
      I think romance is also not secret, where seduction is, though I'm less certain about that.

    • @PartyElite
      @PartyElite  4 года назад

      The difference is in the relationship you build, and the events etc that come out of it. Romance is a powerful bond of love, where seduction is just lust. Having a Soulmate vs Lover will result in different events relating to the characters, and as far as the roleplay aspect of the game is concerned, there's a lot there. Romancing somebody also allows you to elope with them iirc

    • @PartyElite
      @PartyElite  4 года назад +1

      I think your best bet in this situation, I would say, is to try and get as many alliances as possible and get them to like you so they're likely to join you when you go to war. If you can get a large kingdom / empire to be an ally, you can use their help to make progress one war at a time. I assume you're playing as Duklja? Try allying with Hungary! They're very powerful and can help you take on Croatia - once you wipe out Croatia, you should be able to build your strength up. Wait for the Byzantines to get into an inevitable war with their other neighbours, and swoop in with your allies when the opportunity comes! Less recommended: You can also try allying with Croatia + Hungary to take out the Byzantines, and then betray Croatia (though that betrayal might come back to bite you!). Even less recommended: The other option is to "Swear Fealty" to the Croatians, and then work your way up the ladder under their protection, eventually declaring independence =P. So many options - they can all work or fail spectacularly. Good luck!
      Folks often start on Ireland because it's small lords surrounded by small lords, before the challenge of Scotland / England. Something to think about if you're struggling here - just to get familiar with the game first =).

      @@keithbrown7485 Well, you see my son and my daughter had a claim to the Kingdom of Hungary. Unfortunately, Hungary was much more powerful than I was. But the king of Poland accepted my marriage alliance - of course he did; we're friends. Same deal with the Duke of Bavaria. By our powers combined, we made short-work of those Hungarians. Unfortunately, my heir was my brother, not my son, so I wouldn't be able to play as the king of Hungary unless I removed my brother from the line of succession, which would indubitably piss him off - just kidding, he understands; we're friends.
      Unfortunately, my son lost control of the kingdom in the meantime to one of his vassals. But my daughter still had a claim. Summon the Alliance of Friendship to steamroll Hungary again. Just to be safe, I decide to seize my daughter's title, which is the kind of thing that leads to rebellion - you guessed it... Unless you're friends!
      I (the King of Bohemia) also had Pedagogue, letting me befriend any wards I had. So, naturally, I ransomed prisoners for hooks, used those hooks to cycle heirs in and out as my wards, and propagated goodwill amd friendship throughout the land!
