Asura's in Hinduism are beings which are power seeking spirits which tend to be evil, but not always. I clicked on this thinking it must mean something else in Japanese culture, but I think the reference must be the same lol.
The original title is "阿修羅のごとく(like an Asura)," Asura mentioned here is a Buddhist god, originally came from Indian god. In japan Asura is known as fierce god associated with fighting and anger, so "like an Asura" simply means "scary"🤭 Or maybe it implies multiple personalities, since Asura has three faces.
What a cast! The trailer is well done too. I happened to chance upon this while looking up new releases in Jan. Very excited. Hope it does well. Problem is Netflix doesn't market Japanese shows much.
I love Koreeda, but haven't been keeping up with his projects, so it was awesome to find out not only about this series, but that it's going to be on very soon.
As an Indian, japan has always fascinated me due to our ancient cultural interactions. Can I know where to find that old series, should be nostalgic one
There Also a 2003 Movie Adaptation of the Same Story as Well. (Which Featured Hitomi Kuroki-San and Kyoko Fukada-San as Makiko & Sakiko Respectively.) Tsunako's 1980 Actress was the Narrator for the 2003 Movie Version. Whereas Makiko's 1980 Actress Also Appeared in the 2003 Movie Version as the Mum Character.
dear ppl of japan, members of the asura clan are still alive and living peacefully in bengal, it is a derogatory racist and demonizing term to say the name of the clan with negative connotations
ridiculous comment. Asuras are described innumerable times in buddhist/hindu folklore as power-hungry and often evil beings that are negatively connotated. You think the directors of the show know about some obscure tribal community in India? I say this as an indian myself
@002-g5i only your ignorance is evident from your comment the asura clan that hails from bengal used to rule before the aryans vanquised them from west asia and entered the south asian subcontinent while chasing behind them
@@ARNABOSS Keep living in your delusion. You think the directors of the show are going to stop using the term because some random RUclips comment told them to? The overwhelming use of the word “asura” is of a negative connotation and that’s the way it will be

Not evil but driven by ambition, anger, strength etc. Their major impulse was one of Rajas

Suzu-chan + Kore Eda = instant watch.

Ryuhei Matsuda is here as well! OMG, what a star-studded cast!!
I was expecting a horror movie from the title.
Giving ‘Bad Sisters’, but with the different viewpoints and complications that the Japanese culture can bring. Looks really good!
Or it can be its own thing without being associated with a cheap white show with a completely different storyline.
What a cast! The trailer is well done too. I happened to chance upon this while looking up new releases in Jan. Very excited. Hope it does well. Problem is Netflix doesn't market Japanese shows much.

From arthouse to sloppy hirudora lol
So excited for this.
Umimachi diary in another form
I assume that the problem was resolved with more ease in "Our little sister" because the dad was dead since the start.
It's a good show. Watch it

What the hell is going on with the music in that trailer? Oh well,
Asura's Wrath
Is the original story in any way a sort of re-imagination of The Brother's Karamazov by Dostoesvky?
It is a remake of a 1980s TV drama written by Japanese author Kuniko Mukoda.

Great you are exploring Jdrama
Parts of this were really good, some boring, but I got caught up in it, I admit. This wasn't bad. Wasn't great, but it was ok
Our little sister ?
Give me koreedaaa
그래..일본드라마 뭔가를 보여줘...
wait why don't they have 6 arms and climbing a huge tower mountain to fight the usurping Daeva god?
did I miss something?
mantap
This is giving very K Drama influenced visuals, J Drama storyline 😂
기대와 함께 느껴지는건 일본도 배우풀이 잠 좁긴하네.
The title is in Hindi which means evil and the music of the series is sound like indian too
tablaaa
👍
This looks good but makes me sad. This is a big problem in Japan. No one knows how to be faithful.
First cmt 🙂
So the man betrays his wife and the women are throwing misogynistic remarks at each other for it? No thanks
wow it's almost like you get the point of the story
