@@jeffallen3382 Of course... I did the autocross before test. And, I've done the "not slowing down for this off ramp" test too... night and day difference, but how do you measure that? That's what I was trying to figure out. Thanks!
I did this on my 68. On the rear strut bar UMI should have welded the nut to the top side so you don’t have to fight to hold it in place. Great product though.
I finally got to doing my UMI rear and yeah pain in the a$$. Fuel lines ran right where needed to go. Luckily I was replacing all of them otherwise would have been worse. Thanks for all your videos. Definitely helps but also makes me buy more things lol
Quick tip for those rear bolts that you did the one finger trick on. Take a shallow socket, put a piece of tape into it to take up space, put it on a long extension, and put the bolt washer into it. Feed it up into the hole like you did the drill and hold the nut with you're other hand. Turn the extension to thread the bolt into the nut. If you're twisting your body a lot to get the nut up there, just use longer extensions until you can use your other hand.
Awesome. Thank you very much. I couldn’t find them via Google. Used your link in description. So excited to get these installed on my flimsy 68 Chevelle frame.
another great video you cost me money! what bracket /setup are you using on your coil overs in the rear looks like the way to go for me and another thought have you considered using a face shield verses glasses when drilling overhead
Well, not really... BUT, it is far improved over the stock stamped brace. It should dramatically help with holding the transmission in place, especially under load. Instead of sagging or "bouncing" in certain conditions. Great question!
I also have a 72 Monte with a complete aftermarket tubular suspension, swaybar and bilstein shocks and all new body mounts! Car rides beautifully but I am thinking of adding these for added strength for the stout small block I built. Can you gentleman comment on noticeable driving improvement after adding these braces?
I have added the UMI front and rear sway bars with a definite increase in corning abilities. My car actually came with a rear sway bar so the newer one is thicker from. UMI. San I just add the front piece as you did? I am not sure how or why you did the frame measurements. I use a scissor lift and am not sure we tightened the bars down with full weight on the wheels. I will recheck rather than burn up the poly bushings. Please answer if time allows, thank you
Awesome testimonial... I did the frame measurement to see if they actually made the frame stiffer. Otherwise, how else would you measure the before and after? As for loading the sway bar... it varies from car model to car model, but if you tighten all the linkages with the wheels hanging in the air, the pre-load on the bushings won't be the same as if pre-loaded while the car is static. Hope that helps...
I don’t think you are getting any extra with the 2 bars since you have the super duty brace . Trying to workout is the upgrade worth it ?? Rear bolts holding onto 1/8 steel if that Front bolts on sway bar mounts . Might be something you make to think about real points / double sided minting plates to mount to.
Good points... the front and rears do need further support, as the weld in kit only helps the mid section. Love the idea of top and bottom mount plates to sandwich the frame. I'm gonna research that some more. Thanks!
@@user-qc7hr4my7r Thanks for the heads up... never heard of it. So, I looked it up... it looks bad ass. I also love that they're recommending the use of Rivnuts. I did a video on using those to strengthen the sway bar fitment; ruclips.net/video/0DcpAl0BCFM/видео.htmlsi=4xzf4iB_M153zpfs Ironically enough, I'm in the middle of designing an A Body skid plate (to protect our oil pans), which mounts in the same location as this brace. Using both might dramatically increase the front stiffness. Will add to my review list. Thanks again!
Which suspension modifications besides that bar require the suspension be loaded before tightening? About to do UMI stage 4 with a few upgrades to the kit!
How can I PM you with a bunch of questions. I am attempting to install this and found the right front sway bar hole to be completely rusted. The bolt has NO purchase. Thanks!
great video could you feel a difference. i had noticed you had global west suspension pieces, did you use the stock height spindles. could you feel the difference with the global west suspension.
So , does this mean that the wife will confirm that you got stiffer!!!😂 I’m just kidding haha not trying to offend anyone here . How was the test drive ,? Did you notice that it is any better than before?

For testing these stiffness tricks... Just drive it before and after. On an autocross trsck would be even better.

My car is covered with UMI. The owner Ryan and company are great folks and knowledgeable. And they are AMERICAN MADE! with American Steel.
Thanks Morland! Took my first "hard" exit from the freeway... sooo much fun! Even more planted than before. Thanks for the comment!

Yeah, not a super easy install, and glad to hear you changed those old fuel lines. Yeah, sorry for the new spending habit. ha, ha... See ya!

I like it! Thanks!
That's one stiff Goat Mike! Good work as usual.
Thanks Brother!
I may have made those parts! Hope you like them we like to put passion into every piece
Awesome. I have to say they're very well made, which I think I also said in the video... so, thanks again!
Very Nice Mike I add the rear bracket to mine when i changed the suspension out but did not know there was a front bar available
Thanks, and you're welcome. Ha, ha.. .have fun!
I’ve installed these on my 72 Cutlass. Well worth the 💵!!!! Great channel btw!! Check out their adjustable rear frame supports too
Awesome! I'll definitely check that out!
Doing these over the winter, I have front and rear stiffeners plus UMI front and rear sway bars
I also got the rear control arm reinforcement/frame braces to put on too
Saaaweeet!

Nice, what lift do you have?
Thanks! It's an Orion lift... BUT, if I were to get a new one, I'd go with Advantage Lifts. Let them know I sent you... ha, ha... thanks!
I can't believe I actually already had something on my GTO that you didn't. 😉

Monte, i have a chevy tubular transmission that direct bolts to the frame sides, would that be considered a frame stiffener of sorts?

GREAT JOB

I'm just a guy working in his home garage... I'd totally help you out, if I had the time. :) Point is, if I can do it, so can you. Happy wrenching!

How do you like those front sway bar links? Looks like they’re Spohns.
They seem to be doing their job... they came with the Global West sway bar, so I don't know who makes the actual link. Thanks for asking!
