- After sandblasting the frame, Terry installs The Summit Racing Frame Bracing Kit to keep the 67 Chevelle SS LSA project frame from flexing from the power of the Stroked Blown 6.0 being built. The kit not only boxes and braces, it also ties the frame together making it stronger and rigid. Terry goes over all the steps for a successful install.. Exclusively from Summit Racing Equipment. Check it out!!

Educational, energetic, entertaining, empowering. Every time I watch one of his videos, the feeling that I get is, “You can do this too. Here’s the things you need to know. I believe in you.”
man Paul.. thanks for that comment brotha.. made my week lolol
@@Coverman66, I don’t own an A body. I’m not doing an LS swap. However, that frame kit is also available for my 56 Chevy 210 so your instruction applies to my car too. I may never buy that kit and install it but I now have a better understanding of what’s involved. Thank you for that.
I watch a lot of different channels that are automotive related because I want to learn more about many different platforms, modifications, techniques, etc. What I see in your channel, and in you specifically, is what I’ve already stated. I see it in others too, this message of “you got this. If I can do it so can you.” You’re just delivering it with a level of enthusiasm that’s kind of like a good preacher at a church. You’re doing a fantastic job. You’re going to do well at this. You’re going to be successful. Keep it up. I believe in you.
Not all of us are rich & can buy a frame table. You doing an awesome job!!! When done it only matters if it was done right. Love your vid, keep up the good work!!!! Excellent
much appreciated brotha Jeff.. thanks
A guy here at work is fixing up a 1964 Malibu and he’s got it all the way down the to frame. He’s asking me if there’s a way to strengthen the frame. Sent him your video saying, “This is the guy. He’s got the answers.”
lolol thanks brotha Paul.. really appreciated that.
I never knew that there was a frame bracing kit available. I will go check it out. My grandson works in a racecar fab shop and I may have to get him to do something like this to my Chevelle... Thanks Terry!!!
no problem brotha Danny.. thanks
You have Great content and are always excited and keeping us PUMPED!!
much appreciated.. thank brotha DXF.
Great view brother keeping us informed with knowledge keep them coming brother
Will do.... much appreciated DB..
Nice job, Terry! That is one hell of a strong, ridgid frame. Thanks for taking the time to show how it's done.
my pleasure brotha Rob..
@@Coverman66 can you still use ladder bars???
Great work Terry. Look forward to seeing the ‘67 come together!
thanks brotha B.. much appreciated..
cool video. I'll be eventually doing the same type of bracing on a 70 Olds cutlass frame.
keep me posted.. love to see the project.
This sir is exactly what I been considering on my 71...Definitely tuned in
thank Swaps. great set up..
Terry you are an inspiration to us working out of our garage. Showing us it can be done without all the high end tools. Yes it may be easier. Ready to get going on our project Chief...
much appreciated brotha James. keep me posted in that Chief..
That kit looks soooo trick!!! Great job T. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Appreciate it brotha Earl.. thanks..
Looks awesome can't wait to start mine
keep me posted.. love to see your build..
Our man, Terry--the most genuine man on RUclips. Congrats on 20K!!! For all I know you're well into grinding. But get a cheap box fan and some quality 20x20x2" pleated filters to keep your lungs healthy. I've found good deals on Amazon with Nordic Pure and made simple Z clips to hold filter to fan. Sure helps keep it clean. Not trying to tell you what to do, just passing along what made a huge benefit for little $ in my shop...much love and respect! All the best and thanks for all you to teach all of us, Andrew @BranchAndFoundry
much appreciated brotha Drew.. thanks for the compliment means alot..
Go 10 inch wheel with the right offset, requires the rearend to be narrowed an inch on each side but man the wheel looks deep. No notching the frame. Thx for the videos. Ready to start my 67 LS T56 frame off too!
whooo hoooo. keep me posted on the build..
I’ve been subscribed and love all your videos .. very informative and helped a lot with my build more particularly your content covering lsa swap
thanks brotha 88. much appreciated..
Congrats on the 20k bro
Thank you! 😃 much appreciated brotha BSG..
Love your vids bro!
No political bs like mustang medic, just car content
its all about the love for cars and helping people get their rides going. thanks brotha Phil
Body on frame bracing kit video! Asap!
Also, I would love to see your process of removing the body. I tried my 76 Regal and the first body mount bolt broke.....leaving me shaking in my britches!
trust me i tried, but my buddies that help are shy and didnt want to be on camera.. lolol i wil be doing an installing the body video. just do the reverse.
Great video. Love your channel
much appreciated F2..
I will have to check Summit and see if they make a kit for angled boxed frame on a 70 Convertible. I recall seeing a hellewig kit at sema. Nice job.
thanks CKS.. i was thinking about that Hellwig kit but being the frame was out i went with the Summit.. you cant lose either way.
Do it terry !!!really interested in the 12 inch wheel
im going to make an attempt lol wish me luck brotha RTH..
Great video!! I would notch the frame if you think you may put 12 inch wides in the future. Easier to do now than later!! Keep up the great work.
amen to that.. that is the plan brotha.
Great video Terry! I'm soooo gonna do a G-body this year. I've been beating the bushes looking for a Buick or Pontiac to start on. The Malibu's seem to be more popular and a little harder to find. The Buicks and Pontiacs give me a better selection and I'm really leaning towards the Regal for my build and making it a "sleeper" the first time around. My plan is to start with a 383 N/A and go from there. If I get bored with that, I might move up to a 6.0 LS with an 88mm turbo set up and a 4L80E. Thanks for the video!
thanks brotha Jack.. im looking for a 81 to 84 Le mans.. always loved that car..
Loved watching your video, would you recommend having the rear end and front suspension with all tires on frame before starting this? Or bare frame on jacks?
as long as the frame is square it doesnt matter.. i was redoing the susupension so i removed everything.. I doing another off the body install stay tuned.. thanks for the compliment..
Where you able to use the locate point at the front of the kit. Instructions say to use the locate hole. No matter how much trimming I did to the rear arm mount I still had to push the front of the kit outwards. Thus eliminating the front locate hole.
yea each frame is different. you have to sometime persuade the kit.. lol
Hey Terry, love your work brother. Thanks for the informative videos!! Congratulations on the 20k subs.
Just wondering how much work is involved in notching the rear to fit 12” in the rear? Also what suspension your thinking of running Ridetech, QA1, Umi etc?
Thanks in advance ✌🏽
thanks brotha Sam.. much appreciated.. im doing QA1 coilovers and front upper and lower control arms. in the back most likely detroit speed rear arms because they use an adjustable upper and lower arm with rubber bushings.
@@Coverman66 thanks so much for your time Brother Terry, you always got a lot of time for everyone 🙏
Great video bro
brotha O in the house.. whats good.. thanks..
Definitely take your time measuring. Much easier to fix something if it’s just tac welded. Also have to watch tolerance stack. Glad to see you had gloves on towards the end. I’ve heard the welding arc can cause skin cancer.
thanks for the advice brotha Marcus.. much appreicated it.
Hi Terry, great work and very educational. I have a 71 a-body convertible frame. It's already boxed from the factory compared to the coupe. However, I do need to reinforce it since I'm building my motor. I've noticed that the underside is bent up (dented) a bit under the drive door. Could be from a jack. On a coupe, using a wrench can straighten the bend. Would this kit work well for a convertible? The documents don't seem to say it will not. Also, how would you go about fixing the lower side of the frame that is bent up with the convertible frame already being boxed? Lastly, do you take on projects to install the kits if the frame is brought to you? Thanks in advance for any response. Take care and keep "Ah Tacking".
just seeing this comment.. sorry for the delay in response.. i would try to get it as straight as possible.. is the frame still under the car?
I’d watch a video on frame bracing with the body on. How do you get the inside of the frame painted/rust proofed?
i have the rust proofing with a long wand. i will be doing a video about it.. thanks Kyle..
@@Coverman66 thanks man I’ll watch that video too
Hey boss, got a question. Now I'm putting my spacers for the body mounts on and getting ready to weld them in but the center body mount holes is smaller then the body mount and the spacer hole? You know anything about that and why it's like that? It don't say anything about drilling it out
Center as in the floor pan mounts
hmmm the smaller spacer are for the rad.. now that i think about the center holes were a lil smaller..
I wonder how does this compare to the Hellwig bracing kits? Especially being $200 cheaper then the summit ones.
both are great kits.. i like the Summit kit because of the front and rear crossmember that ties everything together.. more than a boxing kit..
I appreciate the reply. And that's a decent argument
Will this work on a 67 El Camino? If so, what's the part number? Thanks!
they make the kit for that 67, give summit a call for the right kit. thanks brotha CT.
need that video with the frame on
working on it now.. i have a couple of great candidates
Nice video. Did you use flux or gas?
I used gas.. just seeing this comment.. sorry for the delay in response
Notch it
I subscribed.
thanks and welcome brotha Pup...

If you get a chance please check out our playlist on it. Love Your Channel just found you with this video, I’m Subscribed with Post Notifications! Love it! Keep em coming! 😎👍
