Could you please tell us about the battery life. I am considering buying one of these and I wanted to make sure that its battery life is at least as good as Mac Pro. I have read that the they are lying about battery life of Carbon (they say 9 hours but engadget review showed 6+ hours of battery life only)
I ordered one with them, I wish the hinge was black anodized and not so distracting from the keyboard side. Also, I have yet to see a demo of the speakers and how they sound. I assume I will need some sort of expensive bluetooth headset or something since there are no audio ports, no ethernet port I am starting to regret my purchase.
Keyboard is definitely NOT the same as the Yoga Pro 2. The yp3 does not have the row for the function keys. The function keys are now combined with the number keys. I can see why they did this, to save save space and battery life when the backlit feature is enabled, less keys to illuminate. However I totally hate this so this automatically crosses this laptop off my list. Same with the 2nd gen carbon, terrible route to take with the keyboard. Still a decent machine.
my question is i no longer see the vents along the center back like pro 2... where is it venting out heat? ik its not meant to be a powerhouse but id still attempt to play minecraft or emulators on it so i expect it to get warm so where will the heat escape? :/.... plan to get this laptop in maybe 6-8months? depends how much money i make ...

Isn't PenTile a Samsung technology used in their SAMOLED screens (IE: not IPS LCD)

Pentile refers to arangements of red,green and blue subpixels. The "problem" with pentile is that some subpixels are shared between multiple pixels, whereas in the standard arangement, every pixel has all three subpixels.
I had the same doubt 2 months ago and I decided to buy the yoga 2 pro over the surface. I'm really happy with my decision. But the point is: do you need a laptop or tablet? Yoga is the perfect laptop and tablet is a bonus. Surface is exactly the opposite.
Guilherme C. yeah saw another review mention that. There no way in hell you're going to power that screen using usb power alone. Had they used usb 3.1 then things would've been different.
I actually have just figured out, that this thing DOES have a fan :/ It's only a single one, and it's quieter than on the old model, but still, not fanless!

If they added a larger capacity battery with the Core M processor, it would probably be able to push 12-14 hours which would be utterly awesome. Waiting for those products to be made.
Are you fudging me that thing is hunk of plastic. HP made it by putting the Original Yoga on a diet of pig Lard and having a 3 year old disassemble and reassemble it. For the power in that thing they stuck a TABLET processor in it. Not to mention the ad, what the heck was HP thinking #buymeforyourkids because you don't trust them with a Yoga.

Core M isn't very powerful, since it doesn't have a fan so it would overheat if it was as powerful as say an i5 or i7.

It's a really sleek and beautiful device. And I'm a Apple fanboy. I don't know about the watch wristband hinge though

Doesn't have a digitizer, so you can't use pens on it... kind of a fail.

CPU Benchmark shows Yoga 3 Pro M-5Y70 (3052), Yoga 2 Pro i7 is (3998) and i5 (3443).

Tommy Crosby well yes. It seems that yoga 2 pro (and 3 probably too) have RGBW layout. The onw with bad reputation is RGBG.

Where the hell are f-keys? As a keyboard shortcut user, I would definitely not get this laptop. Pressing two keys instead of one is unacceptable.

for a laptop that does not have a fan the battery life could be better.
You have to count in the QHD+ screen. Pushing that many pixels drains a lot of power.
And obviously they reduced the capacity of the battery, because it is so thin.
