I just wanna say, before anyone tries to be harsh to them for the ranking, try do a ranking yourself. I did and it's WAY more difficult than it seems...
Regardless, bro. I think it's mind-boggling that you actually managed to do this! Like, I couldn't even put together a top 10 favorite list of me, if my life depended on it. I know my top 1, top 3, maybe top 5 most favorite episodes most of the time, that I could argue (and yes, Hell Bent is STILL on there, lol! Fuck you, don't judge me, I just had to rub this in your face again! Lol). Maybe my least favorite (prly Love and Monsters), but then that's basically it.
Of course, I love ranking and categorizing stuff in general. But with this.... My opinions also change from time to time....

For all the hatred for Chris Chibnals reign, especially season 11 Demons of the Punjab is exactly how you do a historical episode, the Aliens make no impact to a historical effect, it shows you dont have to tell a historical story and just say the Aliens did it.

Vincent And The Doctor... there is a big problem with this one, I've only seen one other blogger point this out - Neil Perryman - and he got PILLORIED for it. The ending is incredibly misjudged in a way that it doesn't realise and it could be argued that within the confines of the episode, in showing Vincent the future the Doctor may be responsible for his suicide. We know what the point is supposed to be; that depression can't be easily wished away by giving somebody a fleeting bit of hope. But that isn't what it's *doing* - it misses one thing that's vitally important to addressing depression, and that's injecting a sense of self worth in your own personal future. And in showing Vincent a future where his work is finally vindicated but only after he's dead... well, you can read from there that it's not much of a stretch that Vincent would believe there's no point in carrying on if he's never going to be understood or feel loved in his own lifetime.

Town called mercy: a fascinating reflection of how another alien similar to the doctor could be a twisted reflection of him
Rings of akhaten: my favourite episode, a beautiful display of an alien culture and dabbling with the concept of sentimentality plus the long song

It's obviously impossible to agree with every ranking, but the one choice which really captured my attention was your placement of Father's day being so, so, low. That was top 20 category for me, and I know the resolution was visible from miles away but it's the emotional hook that gets to me. everytime.
An episode that gets better each time you watch it. Not just for Pete Tyler's growing realisation that he has to make the ultimate sacrifice, brilliantly done though that is, but also for how the fragility of the Time Lord - Companion relationship is exposed, perfectly illustrated by the scene in which the Doctor opens the Tardis to find just an empty box.
Agreed, along with Waters of mars which is a top 5 episode for me.

Empty Child / The Doctor Dances has been cited by almost all of the classic Doctors that are still with us as the one story from another Doctor that they wish had been theirs (Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy are particularly eloquent on that point). Not sure there's a stronger endorsement that can be given.
I’m only halfway through series 8, but you bet I’m going to watch this entire thing and just kinda skip past the episodes I haven’t seen yet
S9, S10 and S12 are amazing. And S11 is decent so you’re in for a treat!

i honestly can't picture almost anything that happened in your 100+ :D which is saying something
but my most favorite episode (or episode duo) is probably The Bad Wolf and The Parting of the Ways :) and honestly Everybody lives in Doctor Dances is also amazing... S**t, Am i the only one who really misses the Ninth Doctor?

My ranking would probably vary wildly depending on whether I was going by what I enjoyed or what I thought was technically better, so would for sure end up as a mashup of both.
Instinct is that I would've had Rose higher but I agree that it is their dynamic more than anything. Same with Waters of Mars and the End of Time Part 1.
Right up there for me would be The Doctor Dances (deserved top spot so hard), The Empty Child, Utopia, Dalek, the Night of the Doctor (since you counted it) and Blink. Forest of the Dead was brillaint but I'm not a fan of River. There are definitely some of Peter's that would be right up there I just can't think (for clarity I've only included 9, 10, 12). I'd put Love and Monsters higher but maybe largely for Marc Warren.
God The Idiot's Lantern and Fear Her are the worst.

I just watched Father’s Day again yesterday and absolutely loved it. It has so much heart. The character work is superb especially the stuff between Rose and her Dad.
I really didn’t expect to see it so low on someone’s list as it is here but hey... we all have different tastes. 🤷♂️

The only one I massively disagreed on for placement is Hell Bent. I love that episode.
But watching this made me realise, every Doctor Who episode I’ve watched is at least pretty good. I think even the worst might be a 3 or 4 out of 10. But even if you go maybe 10-15 places up you’re getting everything be 5/10 minimum along with many many amazing episodes.

motive for the doctor interfering in "Bells of St. John" was that he finally found the original Clara and he was trying to figure her out...The Cloud/G.I. stepped on the doctor's toes just as he was getting started....so he had to get his prize back

I'm proud to declare I'm one of the 50K subscribers. This is one of my favourite RUclips channel and there's no gimmicks. Its just someone talking and yet it's utterly engaging. That's not easy to do on a consistent basis so I applaud you for that. Thank you for all your hard work. ❤

So unrelated and random but would you consider speaking about the walking dead if you have/ are still watching it. Episode by episode review would be too much for you but a vid or a couple speaking more about what’s happened overall, things you enjoy/ don’t, what you think might happen and taking a moment to mourn Danai Gurira leaving😢. Yeah I mean if you’ve watched it would be sick.
There isn't much for me to say. I watched the first season, it wasn't bad but I didn't feel like it was offering anything I hadn't seen before. Never came back.
It's tough to do these lists. Honestly there are only a handful of eps that I would not at least count as "Good".
I'm only now realizing the arrangement of the Doctors in the thumbnail foreshadows the ranking format/order, nicely done

Omg I love your channel but I found this SOOOO hard to follow. I'm also neurodivergent but the whole starting in the middle thing just did not work for me. No idea if I agree with your opinions or not coz my brain is fried!!
Apologies on that front, I want to build up to the top and bottom at the same time and it was the only way I could think to do it.
@@CouncilofGeeks I found it confusing at first but as the numbers grew wider apart it got easier. Consider a visual cue for good and bad if you do this again. Maybe lighting, camera angle, or something? If it doesn't get too distracting. Or even showing the rank numbers on screen in different colors.
@@maurinet2291 well I had the up and down arrows to show what direction each one was headed but I could have probably done more with that.
