- TCA's KQ is actually horrendous. It's so bad that it almost feels like some kind of sick joke, but I don't think it's beyond saving

I started playing tca because of your videos and ended up getting a kq skin. Seeing kq be done so dirty was depressing especially with the sheer amount of ideas they could've implemented with stray cat and different projectiles.

i've always wished for "face explode" to be kira's main beatdown instead of btd, it always just seemed like it would make more sense for a game. Bites the dust could still be a decent move but i feel like it would make more sense as a semi average move then as his main beatdown because of the way it's activated.
id love to see a rework with a controllable air bubble or something along those lines. also having a super move with btd would make kq more interesting as well

As someone who has dabbled in TCA 1v1s, your 36 MINUTE match brings me pain.
I have a great idea for the evolution of kq.
So first, they gotta add a stray cat item. Something like green baby. Once you use it on kq you will have access to the bubbles. You get 2 new moves-
*a bubble that goes straight forward
*a bubble that auto tracks your opponent (You will lose sheer heart attack once you buy this skill. Seems fair because you cant have 2 auto track moves and Kira doesnt use it after implanting stray cat in the anime.)
Next, we need req arrows. So when they come out, you should be able to use it on kq as well as ge. The req will just add bites the dust to the stand. You must, however, have stray cat before using req arrow.
Basically a 2 part evolution like MIH but the stand doesnt change form until after the req usage. And by change form i mean change color from light pink. . .to an EVEN LIGHTER PINK.

I agree with some of the fixes you suggested, except the SHA one. I feel like having to fight up a speeded up player while having a literal bomb chase you would be broken. So I have some changes that would make it way better. Make it do more dmg, be faster than the average player, and have a LOT more bomb radius. The cooldown would be 30 seconds. This would not only be able to catch runners, but its more useful as a move. But a balance change I would make for it is if SHA is near a opponent, it stays put and the explosion gets delayed by .5 seconds. This way, theres still a chance of people escaping it, but its much harder to. Anyways, yeah this stand was just amazing overall in the show even without BTD. I hope they make it better.

@kkisthebomb4205 Not exactly.... If it's fast and had no delay, it'd just be a move you can place for free dmg. So I feel like a small delay in the explosion would make it somewhat balanced.

@@kkisthebomb4205 Maybe you're right considering time skip and dash is in the game but having sheer heart attack be faster than you and having zero delay would be insanely OP since it would just be a free dmg tool you can just spam. So the delay is very much needed. To compensate for the delay, it would have slightly more blast radius so it's still harder to escape.
@therealbugmanta3187 30 seconds or 35 seconds isn't spam lol, and i said slight dmg buff (1-5 dmg more) and i said slightly faster then a person (meaning maybe 1 walkspeed more then the running walkspeed) so that's really not op + i never said i'd increase the blast radius so it's not too op + it despawns unlike other games i knew
I think they aren't fixing killer queen because it's more important to fix broken stands then bad stands
I really liked the occasional cuts from gameplay to show sources or information relating to what you are talking about, makes the video feel a bit less ranty and more informative.
1:12 the reason why people think Killer Queen sucks in close ranges is because it was always up against Star Platinum and Crazy Diamond, probably the two physically strongest stands in the series (other than Chilli Pepper depending on charge). Killer Queen is one of the strongest stands in the series but it is always represented as a pushover because it gets bad matchups. King Crimson almost gets wiped as soon as it comes up against Silver Chariot and yet people still think King Crimson is physically stronger than Killer Queen just because it consistently beat weaker characters
also if they just kept killer queen weak but with low cooldowns and mobility moves it would honestly be the most fun stand in the game

my brother in Christ, Diavolo whooped Polnareff's ass twice, the first time Plonareff lost an arm and leg along with a gouged out eye. The second time is Pol being extremely lucky. King Crimson is probably the fourth or fifth strongest Stand in all of Jojo (as in physical power)
Don't know if you remember but king crimson put holes on people without effort and even broke giorno/gold experience skull with a punch, its definitely stronger than killer queen in physical strength (and obviously in skillset, can't really land a bomb on a guy that predicts your next move and skips time itself)

Eclipse, 100th comment, lol I guess I might as well just say, keep doing what you're doing, if there's one thing about this community is that if a game is truly quality and remains that way, no matter the state it will continue to grow a playerbase, look at YBA during that one year break although the game wasn't updated the game still averaged 35k players due to the combat being quality, the game is new give it time.
Eclipse This video is very good and you a lot of great points on KQ. But you're actually incorrect about KQ being as fast as CD, the stats of CD are A in power, A in speed, D in range, B in durability, B in precision, and C in potential.
And the stats for KQ are A in power, B in speed, D in range, B in durability, B in precision, and A in potential.
So CD and KQ are somewhat close in speed but not equal as you could see if you watch KQ vs CD again.

KQ has some amazing potencial but for some unknown reason devs always seem to sleep on it just because it's not a time-manipulating stand :/
I don't think its a matter of it not having time manipulation powers unless you have proof of that but kq is a pretty hard stand to balance since its main move is activated just by touching someone and can basically kill you.
In the anime kira says that KQ is slower and weaker than CD, he can barelly keep up with josuke so he keep him far away with stray cat's bubble bombs. Kira is just really intelligent that's why he was able to fight against josuke.
Killer Queen is above the average strenght forclose ranged Stands. Stronger than Gold Experience and Sticky Fingers which are already good for combat.
The thing with Killer Queen is that it was matched against the two strongest Joestars' stands in the series. Otherwise itay even equal Cream in physical power.

Probably the only eclipse video where I actually got bored off of the background footage.
Also, in part 3 and part 4, star platinum has the same stats only the timestop is shorter (so SPTW is kind of nerfed?), and crazy diamond is only 1 stat faster than killer queen, but has 2 less stats for developmental potential.
It was physically painful watching the combat in this video.. and the fact u still won baffles me.
The concept of killer queens ability to place a bomb on anything it touches is an absolutely amazing ability as you can be as diverse with the ability, want to be really offensive? Go up in your enemies face and just touch them in any way you can whether it’s slapping, grabbing, punching, pinching etc. and boom they have a bomb implanted onto them now! Want to be more defensive? Touch anything and make it a bomb! Now they can’t come near that something whether it’s a wall, floor, tie, car, tree and MANY MORE! The options are absolutely limitless! Want to be more stealthy and go for a sneak attack or an assassination? Please a bomb in on the doorknob, the toilet, pictures, foods, cups, and any daily necessities! They can never tell if it’s a bomb if they don’t know you touched it. You can even just bump into the person in public acting like an innocent bystander and now they are just dead when you want them to be! What about range? I mean if you have to touch something to be a bomb then it clearly lacks in range right? WRONG! Grab a rock and just throw it at them. Don’t have any rocks well how about a shoe, shoe laces, cups, toys, ANYTHING THROWABLE, HELL EVEN POCKET SAND! Killer queens is such a diverse and powerful stand and seeing that it’s able to dodge blows and keep up with crazy diamond who nearly hit Jotaro but only just barely dodged it thanks to time stop then overall it’s just a very powerful stand! Amazing damage, Amazing defense, Amazing speed, Amazing range, and Absolutely incredible diversity! Sucks how limited it can be due to games limits and being nerfed to how the writers limit it.
Uh, if my school ever ask for an essay about Killer Queen, I will use this comment. Just hope they aren't talking about the song.
Some changes to revamp Killer Queen that I would suggest is:
Stand destructive power nodes: 2 -> 3
Base stand m1 speed should be increased a bit
Every change you suggested in the video
Some new moves I would suggest:
- A stand jump or leap, similar to other stands’ however involving bombs in a way
- A face slam type beat down move that Kira does on Koichi in one of the episodes
This would be all that I suggest for the base form of Killer Queen, seeing Bites the Dust is the evolved version of Killer Queen, means it is a stronger version of it, however, not replace it completely.
This would be where moves like Bites the Dust and Stray Cat Bubble Bomb would be added to the moveset, maybe a counter similar to the one Kosaku has in ASBR? Also an awakening for a damage boost would be nice but not needed.

my opinions on the proposed changes:
1. making Bomb Plant stun is a horrible idea in practice. the explosion that accompanies basically every move KQ has is badly optimized, meaning not only do you take damage, your FPS also takes damage. instead, make it deal more damage (~40) and give it a slight decrease in windup.
2. instead of making Coin Bomb be a single explosion, we could make it so that the user throws out multiple coins that each make small explosions, like YBA's Scattered Coin Bombs. this can be the combo extender that KQ needs. reduce the number of nodes and make them increase the amount of coins thrown. no upgrades will make you throw 2 coins that deal 4 damage each, maxed will throw 5 coins.
3. Face Explosion could use a damage buff imo, but that's about it.
4. SHA idea is good, I agree.

KQ in YBA rn is busted as hell, the only reason people don't use it is because their PC dies before the opponent does.

The reason people really hates Kq Btd in yba is because of how braindead it was.
It was pretty much the first stand that you didn't needed to learn how to use your m1s.
kq is fine if you spend enough time learning how to use it. here's most of what i know over about 90 hours of using exclusively kq:
-plant bomb: high linger can fuck with parry timings if you turn. detonate animation can be movestacked with other actions which is most useful with blocking and m1s. has enough stun to confirm m1 then zoom punch. there's a way to use bomb plant again during the detonate anim, I've done it twice ever, but i don't know how to replicate it. you can leave the bomb on them for as long as possible and detonate the moment you see time accel/timestop to cancel them, or detonate as a get off me tool in a bad situation. can only be true combod off of a gb, parry, or lingered zoom punch.
-face explode: like all kq explosions, the opponent is knocked directly away from your character, meaning if you jump while using face the opponent will take very little knockback because they're knocked straight down. true combos off of bomb plant, syo, and zoom. does not work if mashed out of timestop (mash plant instead).
-sheer heart attack: can move in timestop, making it a great tool to use when you see a ts. can pathfind around walls. very importantly, when it gets close to someone, it does not explode, instead, after a short delay, an explosion occurs directly on top of the victim, which is why timeskipping, stand jumping, dashing, etc. away doesn't dodge the explosion. due to this, if timed properly on a ragdolled opponent right before they stand up, the sha triggers on the player before they can move, essentially "marking" them, and then the explosion happens on top of them after their getup s run out.
-coin bomb: least useful move, but still has uses. mainly useful if the opponent misses a high endlag or easily punishable move, such as a kick barrage, bullet barrage, lightning field, etc. you can also use it to predict opponents dashes, use it at close range when their dash is on cooldown, or dash backwards and use it after m1ing so the opponent is unlikely to react.
if you're using hamon (best spec for kq)
-zoom punch: mainly just a combo tool after bomb plant or syo. very high linger makes it confirm any other move, including plant, if it hits during its later active frames.
-scarlet overdrive: true off zoom punch, but better used after an m1 after zoom punch to possibly get a guardbreak. can also be used effectively after syo or barrages. useful to mash while ragdolled if the opponent is on top of you, or mash out of timestop.
-sunlight yellow overdrive: superarmor, multihit, and enough stun to confirm zoom, face, or sha. automatically wins m1 trades. can also be held to stall limited duration moves, such as time accel, vampire freeze, etc.
-charge hamon: if used when the bar is already very high, it won't stop your sprint. if you're already charging when a timestop starts, you'll continue charging during the ts until the bar is full. charge whenever the opponent is ragdolled. with sha, coin bomb, and plant bomb, the 10% damage increase applies only if there is hamon in the bar when the explosion happens.
here's my main combo flowchart with hamon:
plant bomb, m1, zoom punch, m1, scarlet overdrive
if scarlet doesn't guardbreak: sha on ragdoll, detonate bomb later at an opportune time.
if scarlet does guardbreak: 2 m1s, syo until bar is drained, jump and use face explode to knock them downwards, sha on ragdoll.
if they have a stand with a counter, stop attacking right after the m1 after zoom punch.
if their counter gets baited: 3 m1s, syo until bar is nearly drained, scarlet, sha on ragdoll.
if their counter isn't baited just dash at them and try to land syo then follow above.
you can usually freestyle other combos by knowing which moves are true off which others.
plant bomb: true only off linger zoom punch
face explode: true off plant bomb, zoom punch, syo
sha: true off any ragdoll, plant bomb, zoom punch, syo
zoom punch: true off plant bomb, syo
scarlet and syo: true off plant bomb, zoom punch
anything true off syo is true off barrage

9:43 Why not increase SHA's speed instead and lower its duration
Cus what Eclipse suggests with his idea of Sha is that you could have speed boost to fight people or runaway . If you give Sha speed boost people would let it hit them and continue stalling after ragdoll .
So it would be a better choice to buff it with increased player speed when its used or giving Kq a skill to move around like yba's Kq
eclipse will you give deepwoken a shot? you can make a build with whatever weapon class and element you want and every character's build will be different than the last which i think makes it very special, but this is something you have to see for yourself

@@Felibunn then why would you play with KQ, they need to change KQ to discourage the horrid play style, while making it different than BTD, and make it actually good to make a reason to actually use KQ.
Basically, who would want to play with the weaker KQ, with a boring, annoying playstyle when you have a newer BTD one that (hopefully) fixes all the problems while being a completely new thing. Might as well dig a grave for KQ at that point because nobody will want to play the normal KQ instead of BTD

@@lpmatthews7387 ehhhh, sure but Killer Queen is definitely above average. Disintegrating someone with a single touch and leaving no trace is incredibly strong.
This is a rare instance where i would ask for a rework, after picking up TCA and playing for myself i can confirm kq in this game is just inherently worse than yba's kq. dont get me wrong, yba's kq is in a very cringe state but there is OPPORTUNITY for cool combos and whatnot with scatter coinbomb and bomb leap, two moves not present in TCA, with the rest of the kit granting very much the same 's key combo' gameplay as yba. but in yba it actually hurts, and can hit you with the "frame destroyer 9000 wall combo"
KQ is still fun to troll people with, when a world boss spawns I just plant a bomb on the boss (or a random person) and blow it up when there are a lot of people near by the target.

so they buffed it. the big ones being it has a third destructive power node. the cooldowns were reduced, those 25 seconds turned into 14-15 and maybe some other stuff. face explode sill does 11 damage though soooo

As 1 of the 3 kq mains out there, I think the only thing that should be changed is the plant bomb speed, everything else is fine. (That's considering that we'll be getting bites the dust and bubble bomb at some point)
0:12 actually, i know of 1 kq main who is REALLY good at the game. They got around 300 wins with Kq Hamon only, and would probably beat 80%+ of the players
7:55 while yes, it is one of the easiest to parry, its VERY slow wind-up paired with almost no one playing it makes it so that no one can actually parry it because of how slow it is

I always hated how BTD in every game just adds two moves being the air bubble and Bites The Dust.
Killer queen should be realistic as hell. For example: coin toss and plant bomb deals 90 damage but like 60 second cd (jojo character get hit by one explosion and they get bloody as hell)

I think destructive power should stay about the same, but there should be explosive power instead for the bombs (minus SHA because it legit tracks you) because even Kira recognizes killer queen isn’t built for combat, it’s meant for assassination, sure it kept up with Crazy Diamond, but it still never landed a hit and lost the fight. Though I do agree it could use speed increase, plus SHA could probably have a speed increase to be faster than a player, but STUPID easy to dodge, like in the anime, because it pauses before exploding.
Here are the three ways I see the devs fixing killer queen
1. (The Good) buff base kq. Yippee!
2. (The Bad) add kq btd, but make it really easy to get and actually good and pvp
3. (the worst) add kq btd, but make it really hard to get and make it OP in pvp

Personally i think most games do not do killer queen justice in the core design aspect.
I will start by saying imo killer queen needs a total rework from a perspective of how it is even conceptualized. In all games it spams moderate damage bombs, has massive aoe and can chain explosions together. To me this is antithetical to how killer queen operates and what sort of feel it should bring as an ability.
Be warned this is an extremely long rant about a potential new design for kq as an ability and stand in general.
Think about what it is in canon- a single touch from its hand can be your death. A touch and a hand motion. It can also touch any item to transfer the bomb to the target, letting you lay incredibly lethal traps. Sheer heart attack is used by kira for finishing targets much less discreetly while he himself is not around. It can definitely fight, but gets beaten out up close by specialized close combat stands liek crazy diamond or star platinum (it happens a good few times where while kira puts up a fight he does not come out on top).
What kind of playstyle does this bring to mind?
To me, a somewhat capable but unimpressive close range fighter that can however be extremely lethal when catching you with a trap bomb or getting past your defenses even once. Not great range, but maybe coule have a single not spammable ranged move that would be able to put a very high damage bomb on the target.
It's a somewhat similar playstyle to the hand with its (in theory) moderately ok options and one really strong attack that can serve as your main damage source.
Now as to how i think this should translate into gameplay:
Being hit by a bomb from killer queen should be a really big deal. It kills you instantly in canon, so personally to me a minimum damage of 60 for a bomb detonation seems appropriate. Uncounterable, unblockable, unparryable, obvious. This means that the amount of moves utilizing bombs needs to be decreased heavily and their cooldowns need to be higher. Or do they? Of course canonically he can use it all he wants, so maybe we can start kq off with a base of really strong not very high cooldown moves that plant bombs.
Let us make it very simple and say one close range bomb plant and one coin toss, plus a separatrle key to detonate (i just personally think its fun). One bomb limit as that is how the ability works.
Then let's think about how these moves function:
1. Bomb plant would be your main bomb application method. So it should have at least ok range and speed, but blockable and unparryable, with less endlag than the hand as this is to be used to slip between the cracks of an enemy defense, not blow their wall into rubble if they forgot to bring anti tank artilery. Now it should also be able to plant bombs on the ground, so maybe a stand off variant like made in heavens y? Either way i imagine a cooldoen for this move to be around 15 seconds. This move should do its best to not let the killer queen user combo off of if but also not having them get hit for landing it. A combination of minor knockback, slowing the targrt while not letting the kq use moves for a brief moment if landed perhaps?
2. Coin bomb is the range consolidation and quick trap laying tool, flick it to fly forward before landing on the ground and disappearing. This i imagine goes through block, but is cancelable and has more endlag than a bunch of your moves, making it a deadly but riskier mid range sting. If thd coin lands it would stay on the ground as a bomb.
3. Bomb detonate has a slight starup and can be interrupted so even if you got bombed it is possible to land a hit before doom comes, further justifying the higj damage of the bombs.
Issues with this and how to fix them:
1. Chain bombing. Obviously if your bombs deal so much damage you really do not want to be able to consistently land them back to back. To aleviate this the bombs could give their victims some s after a detonation, or put other bomb moves on cooldown for a second or so after detonation.
2. Camping and too much aoe. Simple. Have the bombs damage the user as well. Of cours le it can be a lower % like 70, but by no means should it be viable to stand on your bomb and heal with a brickbattle wall in front of you. Like this the kq user has to worry more about spacing. Now i think its also a wonderful idea to make it so that bombs placed on a person directly cannot damage the kq user, so the targrt does not try to move in your face to get consolation damage AND for trap bombs to have bigger aoe and deal less overall damage (maybe 35-45 or so). Like this it's incentivised to land direct bombs while still making it possible to have your trap laying aspect be more forgiving if you space yourself outside the radius and are willing to take a smaller damage number. Of course the kq can still stand on the bomb and detonate it, but they're sacrificing their hp for cheeky damage which is the kind of play i can encourage.
Alternate moves:
Since killer queen is not entirely inept in close quarters imo it can be given some cqc moves that are not too impressive but can lead you into a bomb plant.
-It can have a small parry move that deals minimal damage and deflects projectiles (helping it deal with zoners better while not invalidating them)
-perhaps a slower true block break that would let you plant a bomb? Maybe an impale or like the double hand stab he tried to do to josuke in the final fight?
-maybe a leg sweep you can use to deal low damage very fast but trip the target, letting you get them with a stand off bomb placement trap bomb?
-face explosion isnt a bad idea either, it works nicely already, maybe just tweak it idk how.
-some small dash into an initiating stun that is not quite enough to get a bomb plant but long enough to get an m1? This one im very unsure about

Now a huge issue- Sheer Heart Attack.
I do not need to tell you it is a very hard aspect of killer queen to do right. I will share how i think it can be done and i eill explain my reasoning.
Sha would be a very fast ai that would track things based off hp and can explode an indefinite amount of times, only coming back if it kills something. Sha would have a blockable lunge with which it could pin targets to blow up, a regular explosion if it senses something close enough. Sha would take x1.5 knockback compared to normal and transfer 1/3 of the damage it takes to you, though while taking this damage you will not be interrupted in any way other than from posing. Sha explosions would vary in power, though based off what i am not sure yet.
Sha would relentlessly chase down targets, blowing them up until the job is done. (If it gets a kill it returns to kq)
Now for some balancing. While sha is out you personally recieve a 15% movement speed penalty as well as a 15% damage vulnerability if attacked on your main body (except bomb and sha explosions). Non bomb attacks also deal 10% less damage. Sha explosions can hit its user.
Reasoning for all of this:
Like this sha would be used to chase targets down in a deadly but predictable manner, making it easier to deal with those choosing to camp you out or run away after getting low. It would be pretty fast so it would have little trouble keeping up with most targets and its damage would be no joke at all. However, it would also be exploitable by good players, so the kq cannot just sit there and do nothing or stall expecting the bot to do the job for them (also it getting hit stops posing. Or posing can just be disabled while sha is out). You also cannot use it to run away very reliably as you will be slower so your opponent can very much catch up to you. You will not be fighting alongside up close as it will also damage you and of course enemies will be more incentivised to try and attack due to that damage vulnerability. In short this makes the kq player try to use sha as a tool to either completely flee an encounter when there's already room to spare, not expecting to off anyone competent or to try and coax a campy player to come back into your range, upon doing which you retrieve sha snd go back to regular business. This relatively balanced way of implementation also lets it not have a stupidly long and annoying cd, maybe 20-30 seconds.
Another bonus if activating sha makes you launch it forward somewhat instead of just plopping it down. Maybe some aiming is possible or hold the key to launch it further?

I think this killer queen is one of the best and most fun iterations i have seen in a jojo game, but the damage is very lucklaster and any other mid stand is much better than this stand. I belive in Killer Queen to possibly get a remake some time.

But still Killer Queen was considered slow in the show and not a very good combat stand. Except for his ability to turn anything into a bomb by a touch of a finger. Not able being able to stand against Star Platinum (except for Sheer Heart Attack) in combat and mediocre with Crazy Diamond.
The only time kq was really strong and busted was in auts 2022 times where the combat aint that bad and kq's combo extend and aoe moves was really fine.
Even current aut kq is rlly strong
