In half a year I will work in Estonia for 12 months, so I wanted to learn the basics now. The language is so beautiful!
I want to move to Tallinn in summer, I will be graduated my class in Germany. Hit me up for a travel partner!
@@arondoll3210 that's so cool! I'm going to live close to Tallinn...
lol dudes go for it! Actually have this experience both, why not
It sounds like poetry
I love this language estonian hello from Georgia 🇪🇪❤🇬🇪
Btw, "ma elan tartus" ALWAYS remember to add a "s" to a place. "i live in tartu" "ma elan tartus". You see a difference, right? Another example "I live in Estonia" "Ma elan eestis". Eesti is the original form but you can't say "ma elan eesti". You need to add a "s". "ma elan eestis". It's very important! Coming from a national.
thank you for the advice! I have another question: do i also just add an "s'"if the city name ends on a consonant? for example: Köln / Mannheim / Stuttgart. Would I just say: "Ma elan Kölns / Mannheims / Stuttgarts"? Side note: I am learning Estonian for an international project I am about to work on and I am surprised how beautiful it sounds ... never really heard it before. Aitäh in advance :)
@@shingshangshong2745 These are exceptions. If it ends with a consonant, then you add 'is' instead of 's'. For example ''Ma elan Kölnis". If it ends with 't' then you change 't' to 'd'. For example ''Ma elan Stuttgardis''. I completely forgot to mention that! Thanks for asking!
so it would be: Ma elan Belgradis.
Would "Mexico" be "Mexicos" ? Wondering
Ma elan indonesiis
I wish I had Estonian friends to motivate me more to learn.
Tere! 😀
Same here! When we were stationed at an AFB with the German Air Force (in Holloman AFB) there were a handful of the German spouses who knew Estonian. I miss learning both Estonian and German from them
Tere! Ma olen eestlane.
My great-great-great grandmother was Estonian. I’m Bulgarian 🇧🇬🇪🇪
glad I found this channel I am going to study in tartu in the coming autuum semester through erasmus and don't speak a single word Estonian. Now I know that most people my age will likely speak english but I have the feeling it is still a good idea to learn the language.
I am from Estonia but speak English so this helped but I already knew most of this😄😄
Wow, it's a beautiful language! I'm learning French coz I live there... It's beauty is overrated but Estonian sounds truly beautiful 😀

Čau z Česka. Hey from Czechia! I found a one similiarity between Latvia, Czechia, Slovakia and Estonia and that is tha we all use the same informal greeting,
In Czechia and Slovakia: Čau
In Latvian it's also Čau i believe
and in Estonia tšau which pronounced the same as the other ones. Love Estonia from Czechia 🇨🇿❤️🇪🇪❤️🇱🇻
Thank you...suur tanu😊
This is the most beautiful language and music I've ever heard
Thanks, very useful. I'm going to visit Tallinn next week.
Finnish and Estonian are pretty close to each other tbh.

@@azamsaninissinen3001 Well some aspects of the languages sound very similar.
I’m learning it for my partner, and so far my only confidence in the language is “ma armastan Sind” @-@ he is teaching me other words but as an Australian who’s English isn’t the best very very very hard- haha but I’m gotta continue learning for him.
It's wonderful to hear that!

I love the Estonian language so much because it’s similar to Finnish. It’s a shame that Duolingo has no Estonian. But Duolingo has Finnish.
