I'm from Volga, and this song reminds me about history of my great ancestors. Thank you! For those, who is interested - the original name of the song is "Дубинушка" or "Эй, ухнем!"
God this is so good... This song feels so Nostalgic for a past of soviet space exploration, a past which never truly happened and will never return. I can imagine a lot of people in the 60s and 70s (when the spacerace was happening) had a lot of hopes for the future, the promised future which saddly never arrived...

Volga boatmen (Бурлаки) weren't boatmen. they walked on riverside, pulling cargo ship by rope. And later in city of Samara, at Volga, they welded soviet moon rocket. What a ride
very true! when I was looking for sheet music I found several 19th century versions under the title, Song of the Volga Boat Haulers.
Truly an underrated gem.

This would fit perfectly into a retro sci-fi Soviet space future. Maybe something like For All Mankind’s later seasons
I haven't seen 4 all mankind yet, I'll have to check it out ^^
