If you are in unity 5 and need to add in a terrain go to GameObject>3D Object>Terrain You can get the terrain editor by searching it on RUclips and clicking on a link in the description. Then click the file downloaded and it will install. Then you can go to your terrain and it will all be there. (Have unity open so it can install)
+Martinus Padua Go to the game object you want to be your fps controller then go into components and add in a character motor script. Then add in the character controller. Now i suggest you add a capsule collider because they work the best. Now set the capsule collider to 1 on the 4 axis for its position on the character. Also move the camera you want to use to the character and drag and hold it above your characters tag wait until it is highlighted and let go of the mouse. This will make your camera follow your character around i believe the term is child. This should create a basic setup for your character. If you have any more questions or problems just ask ill respond as fast as i can.

I mean a movement script of some kind. It could be simply called "Movement" but thats the whole function it should serve.

You have to check the box "Use Gravity" or something on your character

This might be very dumb question.... So my character falls down trought the terrain. How do I fix it? :D
fix the placement of your terrain to make it centered and if that doesn't work add a collider so your person doesn't fall through :)
