OMG! I'm so glad I found this! I have been trying for months to cut my stickers out this way and searching everywhere for a how to video and they never showed how to cut printed stickers like these. Thank you so much! This video is a lifesaver!
if i could have "thumbed up" a bajillion times, i would have! I've watched countless videos on how to cute with a silhouette but nobody has ever made it this clear and easy to follow. thank you, thank you, thank you!
I have wanted a die cut machine for a couple months now. I have gone back and forth between Silhouette and Cricut. Seeing that you use Silhouette and will be doing some tutorials might have just made up my mind. I have been collecting scrapbook digital files for years and using the die cut machine to print and cut would be a huge help. I wouldn’t have to by much else in the way of cut pieces. Thanks for all your awesome videos Lindsey. You are such a blessing!!
You’re amazing. I’ve struggled with using my cameo with IF designs and this broke it down so great! I can’t wait to break mine out this weekend and play with it. Cardstock. Clear sticker paper. I want it allllllll!!!!! You’re the best!!!
Thank you so much for an easy to follow tutorial, I had to go update my silhouette so its on 4.2 now and followed your tutorial and just cant tell you how thrilled I am to be able to now cut out my own printables. There's no stopping me now.
I have been wanting to do the print and cut with my silhouette but a little afraid to try. I really liked you video. It was not to fast and very informative. Thank you
Thank you, friend!! This is so helpful to me. I can’t wait to run to my machine and give it a try. You’ve made it look so easy. I appreciate you, Lindsey!
Thank you so much for the refresher course. I haven’t used the print and scan feature for over year now. My library is just a nightmare now that I’ve updated the program so many times. I have about nine copies of every single image that I personally created and was told the only way to delete all the extra copies is to delete each individual image. That’s over 2000 images!! I just don’t have the time to do that so unfortunately I don’t really use my silhouette as much as I used to. Anyway, you totally saved me tonight! This was a really great tutorial.
Thank you so much for this video I have been searching YT for videos to help me cut I’m a newbie with a new Cameo and couldn’t find s a video. You explained so clear and easy to follow!!!
I received one for Christmas and have spent a bit time looking at You Tube videos. Yours is one of the best! I learned 3 new aspects of the software. Thank you.
I just did print and cut last night and didn't have all the right settings so it wouldn't cut everything including the words. So this video held me a lot. Thanks!
Loved watching this tutorial! One of these days, I would love to get one... I just need to find the space and time to play with it. Going to bookmark this for when/if I ever get a silhouette.
Literally was doing research on this vs cricket machine. And I was thinking shoot I wish lindsey video was up already, and bam notification! Thanks girl!!!!
thank you so much!!! this video really helped me out. did you ever do a second video on cutting out the other images that didn’t have definite lines? i’m struggling with cutting images that contain white ir have that watercolor/bleed out effect.
Thank you so much for this video. This is much easier than the way I was trying to do this on my Silhouette. Going to try it now!!!! Love watching all your videos.
Thank you for the very helpful video I was wondering if you could do a video showing how you print at a place like staples. Save to you PC, and cut with the silhouette. I’m using a PC and not sure how to do this. Thank you
Hi Lindsey, Thanks for the tutorial, I will get my husband to watch it and then he can walk me through it 😂😂 So I do have a question - are you still storing your printables in the photo boxes? Do you print them out and store them in something else until you are ready to use them or do you print, cut and store immediately? How many photo boxes of cut printables do you have and do you store more than one set per box? Initially I was cutting them all out (fussy cutting) and putting them in little ziplock type bags and storing them in a bin - similar to your stamp storage - but I didn’t know what was in the bags 😜 So I stopped cutting and started putting them in file folders in a box - not very portable. So my current solution is to put them in 3 ring binders and cut as needed - which won’t work if I start using my silhouette. Also this takes up LOTS of space. Sorry for the long winded explanation. I would like my next solution to be THE solution:) Thanks for all your great tips.
I am currently looking into a vinyl cutting machine. I have friends that use cricut and friends that use cameo, one of them recommended watching RUclips videos and i am so glad i ran across your video. I have experience in photoshop and illustrator and one of my needs in this machine is to be able to use my designs in those programs to print/cut. Watching this video makes me think that as long as i can save the files as jpg or pdf, silhouette program should work with the design to print. Do you have any tips on using those other programs with the silhouette program?
Hi Lindsey, thanks for an awesome video. Just want to check, if one converts a PDF file into JPEG, will I open Silhouette then import the file into my Library?? Have purchased so many downloads for Bible Journaling and using Silhouette Print and Cut would save so much time. Once again, thank you and God Bless xxx
Hi, thanks for your video, love it, I subscribe right away 😂 I have one question, I saw a vídeo where someone changed the grey area of the scan an turned it smaller so it could fit a bigger design. Does it work? At least on the video worked, did you tried that already? So I can know if I could do and have no issues. I'm trying to start doing stickers. Big kiss from a new subscriber in a little Islands 🏝 in Azores, Portugal 🇵🇹
This is definitely the best tutorial on RUclips. Thank you for making it so easy to understand. Can I ask you what vinyl paper sheets are you using to print? Thank you!
No, you print using your standard home printer and then run that print out through the cameo. It has the option to print with registration marks for the cameo to read so that the cuts are lined up.
Hello! Does anyone have a super good video for this same process using Cricut Explore 2? Also- what card stocks are you all having luck with sending through your printer? My HP 8600 won't pick up 110.
You can print out the images at full size. You just need to move some to another page so they fit within the cut area. Great demo for using the print and cut function. Thank you!
Thank you Lindsey for this video! For some reason I don’t get the red boundary box ☹️😡 I have googled and can’t figure out what the problem is. Do you have any idea? TY for your time, sharing your knowledge & any suggestion you may have 🙃
Great video! Hope you make more! I have a new cameo- just learning. I did everything with success but when trying to cut- no go- it’s acting like it’s cutting but no success! Any tips?
Is the designer upgrade on shilouette cameo a one time fee? Or yearly? Also does it read registration marks from either inkjet or laser? My machine is arriving tomorrow and I am so excited!
It’s a one time fee (I think I grabbed my code from amazon because it was cheaper) and yes, it reads registration marks from either type of printer. Have fun playing! Check out the Silhouette School blog...she has lots of information!
They had some printables for prayer journaling I believe but nothing else. I think Elaine just recently had a video on their FB page showing how she uses patterned paper to create additional pages for it.
@lindseydecor Any updates or tweeks since making this video 3 years ago? My sweet husband watched with me and tried to help me with my portrait 3 and we haven’t gotten it to work yet. I think it’s user error and not the machine. Although they are janky as you say.
I haven't done an updated video but I don't know that much has changed since this one. Are you having trouble getting it to cut accurately or setting up the cut lines?
I have a Cricut but to do something like this in Cricut is a pain. So I guess my question would be, could I somehow prepare the cuts here and save it to my actual computer and then cut with my Cricut? or would I be better off using another application to help my Cricut realize what to cut?
Good question. I honestly have no idea what would be the best way for the Cricut...have you tried searching videos on RUclips specifically for the Cricut?
@@LindseyDecor Yes ma'am and every video I have found has been a jpg that already has the outline and they just select the white/negative space and it disappears. But if I do that with a file from IF then it wants to cut out all the letters and such. Design Space isn't as advanced as the silhouette program I feel. Maybe I'll just have to look into getting a silhouette instead. Or try a photoshop program?
@@LindseyDecor so I searched for a while for a video like this but for cricut and came up empty handed. I decided to just download the silhouette program, give it a try and it was so easy to do thanks to your video. Loved it so much I order a cameo to use over my cricut! Thank you!!
Ohhhh this thing is driving me crazy, I have done the off set thing. But when I go in to delete the first line it deletes my picture. Yes I have tried ungroup and release compound but it still deletes my picture and leaves nothing but the offset line. I don't know what I'm doing wrong!

I’m new to this! So I’m assuming the machine prints and obviously cuts? I’m confused on if it prints too? You mentioned this machine can be problematic would you then suggest a different machine?
This machine only cuts...you print the images out with guide marks that the machine reads and then cuts around the images. There are several videos on RUclips if you search Silhouette Cameo. I did a lot of research into which machine to get and this seemed to be the one that had the most versatility but does require you to be comfortable using a computer and like any machine, it can be finicky.
You print with you regular printer at home. Then place the printed paper onto the Cameo mat. And feed it Into the Silhouette Cameo, which then recognizes the “marks” and cuts out the images
Make sure you right click and hit "Ungroup" or "release compound path" (whichever one works to break up all the pieces) and then I zoom in and delete what I need to. After that, be sure to highlight all of your cut lines and group or make compound path so you don't accidentally move anything around.

Where do you get the storage containers you showed at the beginning with your cut elements?
They are photo storage boxes from Michael’s 😉
