I might get killed here but Let it Go should be way higher. That damn song was a cultural phenomenon. All these Bond songs and not putting Skyfall on here is criminal.
There are so many movie songs that I absolutely love and listen to all of the time. A lot of them are Disney songs I will admit 😂 But not all of them. 1. Come What May-Moulin Rouge. This one is actually my favorite love song of all time as well as one of my favorite songs in general. Not just a favorite movie song. 2. When You Wish Upon A Star-Pinocchio. This song is super iconic and is the theme song to Disney but it really is a beautiful and hopeful song. I’ve cried multiple times hearing this song. 3. My Heart Will Go On-Titanic. Again one of my favorite love songs of all time not just one of my favorite movie songs. 4. The Lonely Goatherd-The Sound of Music. This is one of my favorite movies and I absolutely love every single song from the movie. But The Lonely Goatherd is my absolute favorite. It’s filled with joy, with fun, and silliness. It always makes me so happy no matter how many times I hear it or watch it. It always brings a huge smile to my face and makes me dance. 5. The Trolley Song-Meet Me In St. Louis. This one is kinda funny because I’ve never actually seen the movie but this song was on a 40’s-50’s cd my dad has and he played it all of the time when I was little so I heard it all of the time. I’ve loved it my entire life. 6. Once Upon A Dream-Sleeping Beauty. This is my favorite Disney song of all time. I know When You Wish Upon A Star was higher on this particular list but that’s because I feel like as far as movie songs go When You Wish Upon A Star is more well known. But this song is so dreamy and beautiful and I have always loved it. 7. Skyfall-Skyfall. This song is a complete masterpiece and so haunting and beautiful. 8. Take My Breath Away-Top Gun. This song is so goooood! It really does feel like you’re flying through the air when it plays. It’s beautiful. 9. Young and Beautiful-The Great Gatsby. Again I’ve never actually seen this movie but I love Lana Del Rey and I’ve heard this song so many times. It’s kinda like the definition of a hauntingly beautiful song. Tragic, gorgeous, hopeful, lovely…Really does work so well for a story set in a different era. It has such a classically beautiful sound and feel to it. 10. Kiss Me-She’s All That. This song is so sweet and so adorable. It makes me think of young people falling in love, dancing under the stars…I haven’t seen She’s All That either but I absolutely love this song. 11. All That Jazz-Chicago. I’m honestly not sure if I love this song or Cell Block Tango more but All That Jazz is the song that made it onto my list 😂 It’s so fun. It’s so sexy. It feels like a perfect blend of fun and exciting as well as hot and sexy. I love it! 12. (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life-Dirty Dancing. This is one of my favorite movies ever. I actually watched it just a couple of weeks ago. I love this entire soundtrack but yes I agree with the rest of the world that Time Of My Life is the best song from the movie. So fun! You can’t help but dance to it when you hear it! 13. (Don’t You) Forget About Me-The Breakfast Club. I’ve watched this movie recently as well. All the songs in this movie are awesome but again there’s only one song that truly stands out. I’ve heard this song my entire life before I even knew it was in a movie. But I’ve always loved it. It’s so good! 14. A Thousand Years-The Twilight Saga. I know these movies get hate and I’m one of the people that actually love them. But we can all agree that these movies have so many good songs. But A Thousand Years has to be the best. It’s absolutely gorgeous. The beautiful piano and violins, Christina Perri’s soft and beautiful voice…I absolutely love it. This is another song I heard a lot in my childhood before I ever knew it was also from a movie. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized just how truly beautiful that song is. It’s so lovely and romantic. 15. Somewhere Over The Rainbow-The Wizard of Oz. This song is one of the most iconic movie songs and honestly probably just one of the most iconic songs ever. And there’s definitely a reason. It’s still so beautiful, so hopeful, so relatable even though it came out almost 86 years ago. It’s beautiful and it’s one of those songs that as you get older you love more and more. 16. Singing In The Rain-Singing In The Rain. This song is just so much fun! I play it on a regular basis. Any time I need a boost of happiness and energy I play this song. It’s just pure joy. It really does boost your mood up. Like I said there are plenty of movie songs that I love that aren’t on my absolute favorite list but these were my top favorites.
I play Footloose on a pretty regular basis 😂 Never seen the movie but I absolutely LOVE the song. So much fun. I always dance till I can barely move when I hear it 😂
"We won't be considering songs that achieved their primary fame and recognition prior to their film's release" Then why is I'm A Believer on here? It was a massive hit for the Monkees back in 1967, long before Shrek! Also, I Will Always Love You was a hit for original singer and songwriter Dolly Parton decades before Whitney got a hold of it.
Good to see Falling Slowly and That Thing You Do!, but here's a few of my favorites that weren't on the list: 1. Miss Misery from Good Will Hunting 2. The Crying Game from The Crying Game 3. Everything is AWESOME!!! from The LEGO Movie 4. It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp from Hustle and Flow 5. When She Loved Me from Toy Story 2 6. How it Ends from Little Miss Sunshine 7. Skyfall from Skyfall 8. Sugar Rush from Wreck-It Ralph 9. Anything from South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut 10. Anything from Team America: World Police 11. Stay (I Missed You) from Reality Bites 12. Hero from Spider-Man (2002) 13. The Touch from The Transformers Movie (1986) 14. Wake Up from Magnolia 15. In the Waiting Line, New Slang or Let Go from Garden State 16. Battle Without Honor or Humanity from Kill Bill Vol. 1 17. Where is My Mind? from Fight Club 18. The Greatest Show or Never Again from The Greatest Showman 19. I'm Alright from Caddyshack 20. I Believe I Can Fly from Space Jam (a controversial pick, but it's still a great song) 21. Tiny Dancer from Almost Famous 22. Bohemian Rhapsody from Wayne's World 23. How Do I Live from Con Air 24. Shipping Up to Boston from The Departed 25. Somewhere Out There from An American Tail 26. The Blower's Daughter from Closer (2004) 27. So Close from Enchanted 28. Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 29. Tip Toe Thru' the Tulips with Me from Insidious 30. Hip To Be Square from American Psycho Like I said, there are so many more, but these were just a few of my favorites.
I too was so happy to see Glen Hansard make the list!! And I love the extras you added, agree with so many of them. I would also add Pretty much every song from Harold & Maude. Yusuf Islam(Cat Stevens) did an amazing job here! Guaranteed-Eddie Vedder-Into The Wild. That whole soundtrack was beautiful!
My Heart Will Go On, The Glory Of Love, I'll Never Love Again, Hold My Hand, music from The Bodyguard, Flashdance, Dance The Night, Blood On White Satin, many Bond songs and more are all greats.

54:37 The song only ends due to the imitation of the recording device. The song was called "Never Ending Story", while the movie it was written for is called "The NeverEnding Story". "The NeverEnding Story" movie was based on a 1979 German novel "Die unendliche Geschichte" by Michael Ende, The song was written by Italian musician Giorgio Moroder & Kieth Forsey, and performed by English pop singer Limahl. He released two versions of the song, one in English and one in French. The English version featured vocals by Beth Andersen, and the French version, titled L'Histoire Sans Fin, featured vocals by Ann Calvert. Andersen does not appear in the music video; frequent Limahl back-up singer Mandy Newton lip-syncs Andersen's part. Lead singer Limahl, real name Christopher Hamill, was initially the lead singer of the band Kajagoogoo, who had a large with "Too Shy".
Every time I hear "Somewhere over the Rainbow" from the movie The Wizard of Oz; I think of Pink Floyd's album "Dark Side of the Moon". I read/heard an article in local newspaper over 20 years ago that someone linked up the movie with Pink Floyd's album and matched perfectly if you go into detail during the entire movie of Oz. However, the caviat is the timing of both. If one or other is off in timing even by a millisecond, neither one will sync correctly. Someone must have had too much free time to do that and lots of practice to get it right.
Giorgio Moroder is present with 4 songs (94 - 17 - 13 - 6) But they are missing: Call Me (Blondie - American Gigolò) Take My Breath Away (Berlin - Top Gun) Together in Electric Dreams (Philip Oakey - Electric dream) She's on Fire (Amy Holland - Scarface) Without forgetting the instrumental "Chase"
Can you imagine….you’re sitting in your apartment, going to work…then all of a sudden you hear this soft and beautiful voice singing one of the most beautiful songs ever made….you look out your window and it’s freaking AUDREY HEPBURN
9:06 The song was written by Adam Schlesinger, the bassist of the alternative rock group Fountains of Wayne. Unfortunately, Schlesinger died of COVID on 1 April, 2020, at 52.
AC/DC Who Made Who-Maximum Overdrive Dan Hartman I Can Dream About You-Streets Of Fire Axel F, The Heat is On-Glenn Fry, Neutron Dance Pointer Sisters-Beverly Hills Cop La Bamba-Los Lobos Iko Iko-The Belle Sisters Rain Man Stand By Me-Ben E. King Madonna Live To Tell-At Close Range Stan Bush-The Touch-Transformers 1986 The Ramones-Pet Semetaty 1989 Build Me Up Buttercup-There’s Something About Mary
you forgot to mention that the soundtrack for my heart will go on was actually dion's one take demo that they took and built the orchestra around. so what everyone hears is dions first attempt that became a success
My favorite soundtracks I have ever listen: 1. Furious 7 2. Barbie The Album 3. Top Gun Maverick 4. Fifty Shades Of Grey 5. The Greatest Showman 6. A Star Is Born
It feels kind of wrong to not give commentary about some of the songs, like they're just there to fill up the list. If you don't have anything to say about them, then why even bother to have them on the list at all?
I'm surprised that Teenage Dirtbag (Loser), Then You Look at Me (Bicentennial Man), Where Are You Christmas (The Grinch Who Stole Christmas), There You'll Be (Pearl Harbor), How Do I Live (ConAir), Journey to the Past (Anastasia), Senza Fine (Ghost Ship), All For Love (The Three Musketeers) and Put On Your Sunday Clothes (Hello Dolly/Wall-E) didn't make the list.
made me so happy by putting "Happy" down at 87 because that song just irritates. JUST. Then you destroyed many hopes by putting "I'll say a little prayer" at 86. The placement of that song, in that place, at that point in the movie, with that thematic and dramatic embellishment is why my kids know that song.
I have to say, strictly speaking from a cultural and monetary standpoint, " White Christmas" is still one of the best selling songs of ALL time. So, there's that fact. The list is completely subjective...
As with every other list, it seems once again that only Hollywood movies exist in the world of Watch Mojo. Or movies that Hollywood acknowledges exist.

Pretty woman 😍
Stewie Wonder: I just called to say I love you. It's his best single. 🎉
Bad to the Bone - Christine.... New Jack City - New Jack City
The 80's soundtracks were the best, especially Top Gun, Footloose, Flashdance or Dirty Dancing.
don't forget "Scarface"!
@@cajayson8301 "Top gun", "Flashdance" and "Scarface" are all by Giorgio Moroder.
Oh, Pretty Woman?!?
Take my breath away?!?
The Trolley Song?!?
Lovesong for a Vampire?!?
I just called to say I love you?!?
Love Song For A Vampire should be at the top!!
I might get killed here but Let it Go should be way higher. That damn song was a cultural phenomenon.
All these Bond songs and not putting Skyfall on here is criminal.
Casio Royal ❤
For Your Eyes Only-Sheena Easton
43:17 That whole vibe and movie is so cool!
I play Footloose on a pretty regular basis 😂 Never seen the movie but I absolutely LOVE the song. So much fun. I always dance till I can barely move when I hear it 😂
Thank you for #77! My favorite movie song of all time.
Thanks for so interesting and valuable video, as always! ✨️❤️✨️
Wow, what a compilation of songs!
Happy new year, watchmojo.
( It is for me, so for the rest of you, happy new years in advance)
"We won't be considering songs that achieved their primary fame and recognition prior to their film's release"
Then why is I'm A Believer on here? It was a massive hit for the Monkees back in 1967, long before Shrek! Also, I Will Always Love You was a hit for original singer and songwriter Dolly Parton decades before Whitney got a hold of it.
"Wind Beneath My Wings" was a major country hit(Gary Morris) before the "Beaches" movie.
Good to see Falling Slowly and That Thing You Do!, but here's a few of my favorites that weren't on the list:
1. Miss Misery from Good Will Hunting
2. The Crying Game from The Crying Game
3. Everything is AWESOME!!! from The LEGO Movie
4. It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp from Hustle and Flow
5. When She Loved Me from Toy Story 2
6. How it Ends from Little Miss Sunshine
7. Skyfall from Skyfall
8. Sugar Rush from Wreck-It Ralph
9. Anything from South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut
10. Anything from Team America: World Police

14. Wake Up from Magnolia
15. In the Waiting Line, New Slang or Let Go from Garden State
16. Battle Without Honor or Humanity from Kill Bill Vol. 1
17. Where is My Mind? from Fight Club
18. The Greatest Show or Never Again from The Greatest Showman
19. I'm Alright from Caddyshack
20. I Believe I Can Fly from Space Jam (a controversial pick, but it's still a great song)
21. Tiny Dancer from Almost Famous
22. Bohemian Rhapsody from Wayne's World
23. How Do I Live from Con Air
24. Shipping Up to Boston from The Departed
25. Somewhere Out There from An American Tail

28. Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
29. Tip Toe Thru' the Tulips with Me from Insidious
30. Hip To Be Square from American Psycho
Like I said, there are so many more, but these were just a few of my favorites.
I too was so happy to see Glen Hansard make the list!! And I love the extras you added, agree with so many of them. I would also add
Pretty much every song from Harold & Maude.
Music memories unlocked 🙂

Yay you included "What a Feeling" on the list! That was number one on the Billboard chart the day I was born
"I Say A Little Prayer" was a hit for Dionne Warwick long before "My Best Friends Wedding"
Great list bro
How is "East Bound and Down" from Smokey and The Bandit (written specifically for the movie AFAIK) not on the list?
BATMAN FOREVER ❤❤❤
Every time I hear "Somewhere over the Rainbow" from the movie The Wizard of Oz; I think of Pink Floyd's album "Dark Side of the Moon". I read/heard an article in local newspaper over 20 years ago that someone linked up the movie with Pink Floyd's album and matched perfectly if you go into detail during the entire movie of Oz. However, the caviat is the timing of both. If one or other is off in timing even by a millisecond, neither one will sync correctly. Someone must have had too much free time to do that and lots of practice to get it right.
Giorgio Moroder is present with 4 songs (94 - 17 - 13 - 6)
But they are missing:
Call Me (Blondie - American Gigolò)
Take My Breath Away (Berlin - Top Gun)
Together in Electric Dreams (Philip Oakey - Electric dream)
She's on Fire (Amy Holland - Scarface)
Without forgetting the instrumental "Chase"
Where's Iris at from city of angels??
Ghostbusters 2 - On Our Own is still one of The Greatest songs in The Ghostbusters Soundtracks.
No “If You Leave” from Pretty In Pink or “St. Elmo’s Fire”?
I like when Chubby Cat sings "what was i made for"
Eye of the tiger is an easy top 5 pick
Titanic soundtracks are divine and addictive melodies
Can you imagine….you’re sitting in your apartment, going to work…then all of a sudden you hear this soft and beautiful voice singing one of the most beautiful songs ever made….you look out your window and it’s freaking AUDREY HEPBURN
9:06 The song was written by Adam Schlesinger, the bassist of the alternative rock group Fountains of Wayne. Unfortunately, Schlesinger died of COVID on 1 April, 2020, at 52.
Omg the top 3 YES!

Hey watchmojo why don't you publish playlists on spotify or itunes?
you forgot to mention that the soundtrack for my heart will go on was actually dion's one take demo that they took and built the orchestra around.
so what everyone hears is dions first attempt that became a success
I heard that wind beneath my wings song in Shark Tale. Remember THAT film?
1:01:56 If that opening dosen't flip a switch in you, you're not a millennial. And "I was playin' in the beginning, the mood all changed" also
The most awarded song of all time is only at 16?? Are you kidding me...
RIP Irene Cara
My favorite soundtracks I have ever listen:
1. Furious 7
2. Barbie The Album
3. Top Gun Maverick
4. Fifty Shades Of Grey
5. The Greatest Showman
6. A Star Is Born
It feels kind of wrong to not give commentary about some of the songs, like they're just there to fill up the list. If you don't have anything to say about them, then why even bother to have them on the list at all?
100% agree. Could have been a top 20 instead.
Can’t wait for next year movies
This list should be mostly 70s and 80s very few 90s movies had good songs
Unpopular opinion but boom lay boom (diamond eyes) by shinedown for the expendables which is also one of my favorite songs in general
Spider-Man (2002) soundtrack
I was genuinely surprised to see grease at number 58!
Big Gun-Last Action Hero
Uptown Anthem-Juice
Just Ask me to-Boyz N the Hood
She Said-Scream 2
Big Empty-The Crow
I'm surprised that Teenage Dirtbag (Loser), Then You Look at Me (Bicentennial Man), Where Are You Christmas (The Grinch Who Stole Christmas), There You'll Be (Pearl Harbor), How Do I Live (ConAir), Journey to the Past (Anastasia), Senza Fine (Ghost Ship), All For Love (The Three Musketeers) and Put On Your Sunday Clothes (Hello Dolly/Wall-E) didn't make the list.
Good God, I'm reminded what a beautiful man Patrick Swayze was ..and such a beautiful dancer.
Say what you want about Twilight, but you can't deny that the soundtracks were pure fire. 🔥
#1 Top Gun
#2 Streets of Fire
Pretty Woman ❤
Yes ❤
Pure imagination from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
made me so happy by putting "Happy" down at 87 because that song just irritates. JUST. Then you destroyed many hopes by putting "I'll say a little prayer" at 86. The placement of that song, in that place, at that point in the movie, with that thematic and dramatic embellishment is why my kids know that song.
Let's make it all for one, AND ALL FOR LOVE!
Although it Ought To Be Higher Up On The List Near The Top 10-5 101# I Put A Spell On You (Hocus Pocus-1993) (♏♏🦂🦂☯☯☮☮).
The Cure -Burn so should be on here
Yes!!!! It was a perfect fit!!
The Academy Award winning “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from “The Lion King” should’ve been included on the list and shouldn’t have made the cut!
Rainbow Connection aka I'm Not Crying, You're Crying! 😉
How dare you snub Ferris Bueller hehe. Some more could be: Bad To The Bone for Terminator, Wayfaring Stranger for 1917
I'm not sure if it qualifies but Arrival's On the Nature of Daylight by Max Richter.
You forgot I don't wanna miss a thing by Aerosmith from Armageddon and that is a gigantic omission
I love Magic, but love the title track of Xanadu better. Olivia Newton-John and ELO are perfect together.
Transformers - Linkin Park "What I´ve done"
Undisputed have a great soundtrack too
I've seen most of the films and know most of the songs.
I have to say, strictly speaking from a cultural and monetary standpoint, " White Christmas" is still one of the best selling songs of ALL time. So, there's that fact. The list is completely subjective...
Where is pretty woman???
They don't even mention that Allison Krauss and Union Station did the soundtrack for " O Brother..." REALLY?
What about The Touch/ remixed opening theme: Transformers: The movie(1986)
36:07 The most uncomfortable scene from any movie ever.
As with every other list, it seems once again that only Hollywood movies exist in the world of Watch Mojo. Or movies that Hollywood acknowledges exist.
"All stars" Shrek
why no Iris from the movie City of Angel and It Must have been Love from the movie Pretty woman ?
Top 100 soundtrack movies of all time, and yet no Trisha Yearwood "How Do I Live", 1 of my favorite film of all time "Con-Air"..
I really missed HALLOWEEN....
Everything i Do (I DO IT FOR YOU ) from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
Nothing from Forrest? Or Pretty Woman? You're tripping, ppl
I think their lists were songs that were made for that specific movie....songs in those 2 movies weren't specifically written for those movies.
I feel like the soundtrack for heat should be on here
Cool song
What about Israel Kamakawiwo'ole rendition "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"
