GOOD TO SEE A FOLLOW UP
Thanks for the tutorial. I’m working on a minibike project and I was racking my brain matching rims, sprockets and brakes to match the tires available.
You saved me headaches and dollars!!
I used to paint mine with rustoleum and a brush .
No grinding no tape . Cleaned up the tires
then followed the lines already on the tires .
The paint lasted till the tires wore out.
Flat white enamel.
The kind in the white can with a brick stripe and yellow stops rust logo.
Latex or oil base ?
Oil
How did the paint hold up when cleaning the tire...any discoloration?
@@silentrider694 It looked ok to me .
I was quoted $440 per tire for reproduction whitewalls to Alberta, as of June 2023 😮
$40 beats $1800! Great video, thanks. Tremclad primer is very sticky, high quality stuff, it’s worth a try. Flex Seal or equivalent seems to work ok too, either way the tire must be CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!!
Howd it go? Are they holding up?
Not bad, I've seen plenty of videos where people attempt to make there own White Walls , and so far this is the best method , cool!
You just saved me easily 70-100 per tire. Thats thanks again man. Cheers 🍻
Haven't done it on my 49 3100 rat rod but it's going to save me 230 bucks a tire when I do
Yea, it seems to last quite awhile! I painted white walls on my GZ250 motorcycle cuz it’s hard to find regular white walls for these bikes, and it’s lasted about a good 5 years now. No yellowing anywhere, but there is one little spot on my rear tire that’s starting to flake but that’s an easy fix!
VERY GOOD IF I HADN'T KNOWN THAT THEY HAD BEEN PAINTED I WOULD NEVER HAVE EVEN QUESTIONED IT .
awesome 😎👍👍👍👍
Planning on painting my current white wall on my bike but Can I mix Glow in the Dark Phosphorescent Powder with it?
Yeah brother I’m going to do this for sure. Thanks
I was thinking about trying flat white rustoleum oil base brush on paint what are you guys think
Can i use thing like clear coat and other silicon strays to protect it
Very nice video, I really like to know if the tips and tricks shared work, and here it is. Thank you!
thanks for watching!
Thats awesome now I have to try this
What paint did you use
Mine started cracking and flaking within a few days. Ugh. May wire wheel it all off and try brush on flex seal or something next
it had to be SUPER clean... and you have to heat it so its warm to the touch. hope you have better results next time.
Me too
How often and how much are you driving this vehicle, is it garage kept? Thanks.
What paint did u use vinyl fabric?
I want to do for 13 inch trailer wheels that will have no suspension, hence i'll keep the tires on low pressure to compensate....would you think it's a good idea? at low pressure there's a bigger chance of flaking i would assume
What paint you use?
u smart
thank u bro
What u use to clean em?
What sort of paint did you use? Did you use the white vinyl & fabric paint? Or plasti dip?
two coats of plastidip(turns yellow or brown), top coat was the white vinyl & fabric paint. use a heat gun to open the pores of the tire as you spray
🖤 fleetside
you should whitewall your wheelchair
Rustoleum is the best.
well they didnt peel like clown tires
Did I just miss it or did he never even mention what kind of paint he used? I thought that would be the entire point of the video! WTF?
Thanks for watching!! sorry I didn't clarify in this video... this was actually a follow-up video to show how durable it is. there is a link to the first video in the description. but to answer your question - I used Plasti-Dip, and then covered it with a couple coats of Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric paint.
Im stuggling… the small crack between rim and tire 🛞 has been a problem… not easy
What paint did you use
