I appreciate this video, but it didn't work for me. I'm a PC tech and my client has an iPad that was stuck at "iPad is disabled / connect to iTunes". To complicate matters, the person who set it up (thus the only person who knows anything about it, including the Apple ID credentials) left the company a while ago. I was able to follow the instructions in this video to get the iPad into recovery mode and update the iPad software (iPadOS 15.3.1), going through the download process, "Updating iPad software", "Updating iPad firmware", and "Verifying updated iPad software". However, when the iPad automatically rebooted after iTunes stage "Verifying updated iPad software", it booted to message "iPad Unavailable / try again in 58 minutes". I waited an hour and tried to access it, but it prompted for the passcode. I stepped through the restore process again and it successfully restored it to factory settings that time, but now I can't proceed through the setup because it's linked to an Apple ID and "Find My iPhone" was enabled, so it stops at the Activation Lock screen. I guess it's now a nice, expensive paperweight.

Thank you for this! I ONLY have an iPad, no other apple devices and forgot my passcode the day after I set it up. I haven't even gotten to really USE it yet! Resetting the password alone without having other devices was a 3 week process and then to reset the passcode was a nightmare.... everything on the support website was terrible! On top of it I was using a PC, not a Mac, so Thank you so much!!!

I’m restarting my ipad right now and half way through the update, the iPads screen went back to the “ipad is disabled” screen. The update isn’t finished yet Is that ok? I mean will it still work when the update is complete? Edit: the update says it’s done now but the ipad is still disabled What should I do?
Describing that this works on an ipad a, ipad b, ipad c, ipad d, ipad e, ipad f, and then going through the list a second time (as if you are trying to convince us) is unnecessary. "this will only work with your own device" should take up 2-3 seconds of your video instead of about a minute. This should have been a 3 minute video MAX.

We have a brand new iPad Pro that we hadn't really even gotten completely set up. Do we need to use a computer? We have no data to save.

I called Apple support - the latest iTunes needs Windows 8 or 10 - so I need a newer Windows machine or a mac to restore.
