Once again, very nice restoration. I have to get me some of those polishing pads for my angle grinders. They seem to work very well. I use Meguiar's polishing compounds myself. But usually that is with manual polishing. Can't imagine how well the polishing pads would speed up that effort. Thumbs Up!

I would have used aluminum brightener or even sulphuric or Muratic acid. You can paint on with brush or spray on with spray bottle, agitate for a minute then rinse off with garden hose. It would have gotten that aluminum brand new looking in less than 3 minutes.... I worked for a fleet detailing company in Houston and that’s what they used and on semi fuel tanks, side steps, car walk, and wheels. Customers had they same reaction as I did the first time seeing it. Pure astonishment! 🤩

I think it’s clever to paint the inside of the rim before mounting the flat as it always rust because of humidity here ! Did you use a special kind of paint ?

Homero Barbosa clear coat use for protection. 2 types of clear coat. 1k and 2k.1k is simple lacquer and 2k comes with hardener . 2 parts of lacquer and one part of hardner
