Im turning 29 in March. Growing up ive never really thought about how quickly life passes by until after my 21st birthday. Before, I had always been the kid that wanted to grow up too fast. But as soon as i finally hit the final milestone of my first quarter, everything flipped. Responsibilities started setting in, health started becoming a priority, and I started to really see the people around me age. My aunts and uncles, always seemed so young and full of life when I was a kid, now I look at them(the ones who are still with us) and I can visibly see them transitioning from adults to elders and it is really mind-blowing because I know I am right behind them in this conveyor belt we call life, and unfortunately theres nothing we can do to pause it, but we can take a second to live in the moment and cherish this life because not every soul gets a ticket to this experience.
very deep understanding man, ur completely right. thats why its best to live life making memories with loved ones and friends, while also having a personal relationship with God.
I am turning 29 this year too brother and tbh idk how I feel about it. I feel young still, heck I feel like I did in my early 20's. My best friends are slowing down but some how I look the same and have an urge to do more then every before. The only downside is I feel like I haven't done enough either in a weird way.
I was 29, 16 years ago. Those elders die and then you know death is real and coming for you.
Some wise words mate ❤
Bro, this is too deep for youtube man. I'm trying to have fun!

For some odd reason time seems to go by faster as I age. When I was in my teenage years, being told by any adult something like "you'll get there too" (referring to aging, or being in my 30s, 40s, etc) seemed like actual science fiction. Not only did I think I wouldn't really age that much, but I didn't "compute" in my head that if I was ever to age, I would age at the same rate as everyone else; it still felt like I would maybe get in my 40s but that it would take 200 years or something stupid like that. Still, in my 20s even though I "got" in my head that I was aging, it still didn't feel like it was the end of the world.
It literally took me until I hit 35, and out of nowhere it hit me like a damn truck: "multiply that by 2, don't you think you're middle aged now?". I think I had a small depression from that realization too. However, now in my 40s I take it with a grain of salt. But I still don't quite have the answer to "how did that happen?". Well, my answer usually is "I don't know where the 39 previous years are, all I know is I'm 40 now, it just is".
When we say 'time flies' I think it doesn't really do the meaning justice. The whole concept of "time going by faster every couple of years" seems to be completely real to me. A single year now somehow feels like a single month. Whereas back in my teenage years, a single year felt like a millennia. Heck something as simple as a day at school sometimes felt like I was there for a week. Nowadays when the end of the year approaches I can only wonder where the previous 10 to 11 months went. They just fell out of my pockets or something.
This is because each year only makes up like 1/40 of your life. When you were 10 one year made up like 10% of your life so it seemed much longer.
@@packerleaf7529exactly!
@@packerleaf7529 nah, things happen in your brain where you start skipping frames, also you go on autopilot on a lot of things that seemed engaging. Also physical shape goes down for a lot of people so you are more tired and use more resources while trying to recover from the previous day.

Yes, this is the main reason. Everything in life was new and exciting for your first 20 something years. Then most people's lives become a mundane routine. This is why it's important to keep growing and learning with hobbies and adventures and traveling. Most people would've led a happier life spending some retirement money traveling and going on adventures while they're still young and fit enough to enjoy it and make memories.

I turn 48 next week and I feel the same way. As all of us who still feel young but look in the mirror and begin to see a weird older person looking at us - remember that each day could be our last. No matter the frustrations or trials and tribulations, no matter if we’re single or happily married or in a terrible divorce - memento mori. Tomorrow could be our last. Stop once in a while and look outside the car or apartment/ house window. Look at nature and the beauty that is life. If we are able to do that for even a few seconds each day and smile at its wonder, in amongst all the crazy stuff we have to deal with, then we are alive and in the present which is exactly where we need to remind ourselves to be, and for those seconds, time will take on a different meaning.

I mean, he looks 65. All the resources in the world couldn't stop him aging so fast. No wonder he has pdo tendencies.
@@athens31415 put ur life next to his. stop hating my guy. he prob lost weight, he looks vastly different than he did 2 years ago, that only happens if u do something different. genetics doesn't do that suddenly at 49. also they're all adults' and mutually agreed, get over it.
@@glennquagmire9900 Yeah ok, tell that to the 14 year old girls on the island. "It's legal" doesn't make it right. Gross creep.

when you love something this deeply, its all you think about
Love Leo DiCaprio he's a genius. Loved him in A home of their own, This boys life, Romeo and Juliet. And The great Gatsby.
Django unchained, the departed, the revenant literally never does a bad film
Leonardo might reach 50 but his girlfriends will never reach half his age!
What are you jealous
We age from the outside, we are all kids at heart.
Gross.
Well said. I couldn't agree with you more on this statement.
He's simultaneously approaching 50 and 18 year(s) old(s).
It's scary how fast time really flies ... :(
